I get that. I do. I’ve had to deal with that. But at least I was sexually attracted to my partner at all at first. Looks fade, sure, but even after something unfortunate, sexual attraction doesn’t turn off like a switch. There was still physical aspects I loved, aside from the emotional intimacy. Every vet and vet tech in the practice that I go to goes above and beyond and loves my animals. Perhaps part of it is that I take proper care of my pets? So many people neglect to take in their animals until something is horribly wrong, and I can imagine vets being frustrated by that. I suppose it comes from the top down. The vet who owns the practice that I use is extremely compassionate and loves animals so he hires others who are the same. Just don't assume that all vets are that way, I promise that they aren't. And yeah, if Shake was my vet I imagine it would be a nightmare.

The ultimate thing that I dislike about Shake is that i don't think he would have denied her at the altar. I think he would have kept pretending because he was unable, at every possible moment, to be honest with Deepti. He felt unattracted the entire time they were engaged, he was okay with talking about it with everyone else, but he refused to tell her and instead tried to manipulate her into calling it off. Can't stand him for that. Also, Deepti is beautiful.. I think the reason those dudes were initially laughing at shakes remarks was less that they agreed or found it funny, and more that they thought it was a ridiculous thing to say. My theory: He legitimately liked her in the beginning, but anxiety or fear of commitment or a cultural clash etc snuck in. Rather than looking for an internal reason for the feelings he looked for problems with her. He tried to find anything wrong with her. By ruminating on her flaws he fully turned himself off to everything he like about her initially culminating in his behavior and rude comments. This is not an excuse for his behavior, rather an explanation of the process he took (a process rude and hurtful even in the low stakes of high school relationships)

I don’t agree on the point that it’s objectively wrong to leave someone if they are mangled in an accident or severely I’ll as I don’t think anyone should be guilted into staying with someone who was injured if this is something that they are incapable of doing.
