Price range & options? I think I saw an AC unit does it work off a generator or only plug in electric? Ease of getting in and out of it? Quality of ventilation? Additional insurance requirements & cost? Sound proofing comparison to a tent? Porta potty ??? Love the idea and commitment to prioritize being outdoors for your child’s exposure to nature. ❤😊

What was your selection process and features you wanted vs other campers. Styles and sizes?
@mattallen40354 ай бұрын
pulled pop up camper for 15+ years all over the US. Two things you need to know. Changing tires! Jack needs to be able to fit under camper under a flat tire. Check your tires PSI every trip! Those tires run on high PSI. If run low you will get a blowout. I had 3 blowouts so it will happen so make sure you have a plan! Good Luck

Nice camper. A shakedown was a great idea. I recommend that you have a 16' x 20' tarp, 8 stakes, 8 ropes, and 4 poles for covering it if you get caught in bad weather. Use a heavy duty tarp that is dark on one side and silver on the other. If you set up in a hot sunny place, having the silver side up will keep you cooler. Two points for Chet on the good chocking job. I am concerned that it could tip backwards when you are in it. If there is a chance, I would mount a screw jack(like on the trailer tongue) to the center of the back and run it down when the trailer is parked. Happy Trails. Good Luck, Rick

Oh yes please do a review(s) on your teardrop! Is there enough room to move around & sleep? Where do you keep clothes and daily essentials? What do you find lacking with the kitchen? Pros & Cons with your specific camper Pros & Cons with a teardrop

Love Acadia! First time to visit was this summer and by far one of our favorite places! Cool history, trails, downtown and hidden gems within/outside the park

We love our Bushwhacker. Our number one add on has been an Outland fire bowl with a 15’ quick connect hose. No smoke to get in your baby’s eye and you can still have a fire during fire bans. Enjoy the new adventures you’ll have as a family

Your reason for getting a teardrop is the same reason I went with an Intech Pursue squaredrop. Pulling into a site at sunset and not finishing setting up camp until well after dark, pulling in during rain or other bad weather, and with me at 65 yrs old, it just made more sense. Enjoy your new adventures, stay safe and God bless.

I chose the Pursue as well. It has been a lot of fun for me and my pup.

Acadia! If I can just be quick the biggest highlight of Acadia is all the civilian conservation corps work, in my opinion. There's plenty there, but i would suggest something on the east face of Dorr mountain, like the Emery or Schiff(sp?) paths that have many many beautiful staircases..( I also recommend A Walk in the Park by Tom St Germain. I have an older version, not sure how revised it's been lately, but I loved this guide book).-*also the island explorer is a great thing to look into, not sure about with a baby, but these free buses have multiple lines, most busy spots will see a bus every 15 minutes to half hour, and these are great for opening up one way hike options.

Moving off the ground to camp with a little one makes such a big difference on being able to make a trip happen and be comfortable. My 2 kids are grown and in college but we started out with a popup when my oldest was 3. Lots of great memories with them camping and they say the same. We have moved through a couple of new to us travel trailers since the popup but now have a nice one we bought last year. I love to camp in a camper but also love to backpack. Nice to have options. Have either your family or Chet's family had a camper before? There is a little bit of a learning curve with some of the systems especially if you ever move to a larger one with a bathroom. Worth it though.

You will love it. We had for many years a NuCamp T@G teardrop which is the same set up you have.

Nice - and to give your daughter such an initiation will, in all likelihood, imprint good memories and a love of things natural and outdoorsy. Best to all three of you in your travels and the journey - savor these moments - they will be in the rear view mirror sooner than you think. Be well, stay safe. 🥾

We stayed at Lamoine State Park in 2008! Loved that park outside Acadia. A guy would go around in a golf cart at campground and you could buy a fresh caught lobster right off the park!

You can do a lot with the Bushwacker HD 10 trailer, I own one and mine is heavily modified, don’t ever count on any help from Braxton Creek the manufacture of bushwhacker they are a joke, and the company that just purchased them is no help either, but there’s a lot you can do to that little camper, I take mine deep in the back country on very rough off-road terrain, I installed a lift kit for it put bigger tires on it and added double size tongue box, exterior shower and racks to carry some extra fuel, just check your end play on the bearings and keep the bearings greased I recommend checking all the seals and sealing up the front where it curves underneath they have basically plastic wrapping that’s not strong & should get sealed, it’s a great start and you can do a lot with it.

@daleaustin57014 ай бұрын
I've honestly thought that a teardrop would be a good, not-too-pricey " base camp " for hiking trips! They have several amenities that you can't put in a pack, yet, because of their size, you can get them just about anywhere in nature. You can easily do thru hikes while another person drives ahead with it to rendezvous at a predetermined campsite . Hope you have a lot of fun with it!
