Shaking a huge swarm of bees out of a tree
Had a great time in North Alabama showing a few friends how to shake a honey bee swarm. Very gentle Italian bees. Got them home and added a deep. Today they are acting as they should.
Big thanks to Kyle Payne and Bud Payne for the call on this honey bee swarm hanging in a tree. They have rebuilt in a hive and are doing great.

I admire (and am very jealous) how easy you make it look to just grab a queen like that. After 5+ years keeping I still have strong reactions to any stings which makes me to jumpy about getting stung to even try it.

Funny have i seen the queen yet, HECK NO. he heee Nice swarm...i say 7 pounds. I use plastic 55 gal, barrels, they make good stands to put boxes on to work or capture. VERY GOOD EYES i found too when you get a swarm move rite then and there to there final place, That way there no stragglers and have to put another box out to get em all. Cause there all in the swarm. I WOULD STAY THAT ONE THING I HATE, TO MOVE HONEY BEES, It splits em up

I have been watching your videos along with a few others such as Mr Ed and the dirk rooster, and have noticed u all do bee removal from a tree differently. I think your way of doing it is the best and I was wondering why u do not all get together and exchange ideas

Every removal presents different scenarios that we adjust for. There may be more than one way to do a job but we each do it with what is best for the bees to rebuild in that time of the season and our particular location. On a side note, I think my way is usually best but they are also kinda hard headed. It's an old dog new tricks problem. Wink wink

gerry williams , I respect everyone has an opinion about how I make my videos. I could respectfully have just ignored the comment and continue to express myself and share my fun in my passion of bees. But I chose to reply and say thank you for watching and the comment about the music. I will have music in my videos in the future but will try to make better decisions on the songs. If I put music....pisses folks off.If I have too much vac it pisses folks off. I guess if I disagree it's going to piss folks off too so I will agree to disagree and try not to.

hi Yap. simple to solve. regurlate the sound level don't go from a good level of ten then BLAST music at 50. many people have the same problem. ps you lucky basXXXX I live in cali and cant even find a swarm......
