Oh wow!!! I’m in awe of your grace, articulation & thorough description of this painful story. I am of 100% Egyptian heritage. Raised in Khartoum Sudan. At 16 y/o - 1965, came to study US. I have a Jewish heart. Actually a Zionist heart. I pray for the Peace of Jerusalem almost daily ( don’t want to exaggerate;) to say I love Israel & any Jewish person I meet any where is an understatement! You precious people ARE the light of the world. I know you’re not perfect. But heart is of Gold. This morning I prayed for the safety of every solder. I love the Torah!! It IS THE TRUTH. I don’t mean to hush over you. But I don’t know what else to do to support you. Next week I’m meeting with a college student who’s been brain washed by our liberal media of selective reporting: showing Israel defending itself, but never of why??? that is. May Hashem Bless & keep - May He shine His face upon you & give you Peace.

+Kenneth Hammond Your statement is false and deliberately misleading. The League of Nations didn't mention "Israel" because the future state didn't have a name yet, for one thing. The mandate referred to the Jewish people more than a dozen times but never mentions Arabs. Arabs received 99.5% of the Ottoman lands, the Jews 1/2%. The LoN mandate was created for the Jewish National Home. It did not give them the right to apply for Palestinian citizenship. It gave all Jews all over the world the right to immigrate and settle the land. The mandate explicitly states the goal is for the Jewish people to close settlement of the land, all the land. The mandate states explicitly that this is the right of the Jewish people because it was their land throughout history going back thousands of years! Either you have not studied the history and the documents, or, you are deliberately lying to the people who read your comments.

Considering the fact that virtually every Israeli prime minister had roots in the former Russian Empire, I sincerely wish that were so. Unfortunately though, Russia refuses to designate Hamas and Hezbollah as terrorist organisations (while simultaneously designating the less violent Muslim Brotherhood as one), in addition to maintaining a geopolitical alliance with the Islamic Republic of Iran, Israel's foremost enemy in the region. I cannot say that this bides well for Russo-Israeli relations.

I like his presentation, however, I take issue with the conflation between Palestinian "people" and Islam as the underlying motivation for the conflict. While it is certain that the PLO was a terrorist organization created to oppose Jewish sovereignty with in the Mandate for Palestine as it existed in 1964 when the organization was founded, and which has since made dubious claim to have abandoned militancy, it is at its heart an Arab secular institution which uses Islamic belief as a means to wage conflict against Israeli sovereignty. I think it is important to establish a separation between the Arab peoples who are called Palestinians and the PLO/Fatah/Hamas entities which rule them through brutal force of arms, psychological indoctrination, and Islamic fanatic ideologies similar to ISIS. I assert this delineation because Jewish sovereignty in the state of Israel in no way whatsoever opposes the Palestinian/Arab people or their legitimate aspiration for statehood. What Israel opposes is and has always been Arab/Palestinian opposition to Jewish sovereignty. This distinction is what forces the intellectual conclusion that what prevents peace and an end to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict as it precedes from the Arab-Israeli conflict is materially and factually evident as the "Palestinian leadership". Explicitly, it is the opposition to Jewish sovereignty in the state of Israel which defines the irreconcilable nature of the conflict to which all other issues regarding land, settlements, and the status of Jerusalem are subordinate.

I have seen these and am familiar with many of Prof. Kedar's discussions. I am not disputing the Arab reality. I simply do not accept that it is immutable. My point is simple: If one were to somehow change the Muslim religious practice of Palestinians their Muslim political practice would also change. Similarly, just because no one has succeeded in changing Palestinian Muslim religious practice todate is no guarantee Palestinian Muslim religious practice can not be changed in the future. I am denying the immutability of Palestinian political change - this perception is what I recognize as a byproduct of the conflation I am discussing.

The Arabs were leaving the land months before the creation of Israel on May 14-15 1948. They were leaving because the Arab nations had declared that they would go to war against Israel if it declared its statehood. They had been told they would be able to return as soon as the Jews were defeated. The Arabs of the mandate had been at war against their neighbors the Jews since November of 1947-killing thousands. Once the war began on the night of the 14th, thousands more began leaving; moving to neighboring states and into Judea and Samaria and Gaza. This was 70 years ago. Today, of the hundreds of thousands of Arabs who left during the war, as of 2012, there were only about 40,000 to 50,000 left. Newborn babies would be 70 years old today! 70 and 80-year-olds who don't even remember living in Israel-they were babies and toddlers!. The homes and businesses that were abandoned either no longer exist or were given to the 900,000 Jews who had to abandon their homes and businesses and lands in the Arab states that expelled them in the 40's and 50's (and later). Many of the Arabs living in the land were recent immigrants who came from Morocco, Syria, Arabia, Lebanon, Egypt, etc. to get work because the Jews brought so much prosperity and the British imported workers instead of hiring Jews. Anyone who lived in Israel for two years is considered a refugee! Its time to be realistic, the so-called right of return is a dead issue for many reasons.

Ok that part about Muhammad (PBUH) was definitely wrong! He had rules for war, and rape was not one of them, neither was it killing the innocent! If you look up the 10 Islamic Rules of war, you won't see rape on the list, what you will see is: 1- Do not kill any child, any woman, or any elder or sick person 2- Do not practice treachery or mutilation 3- Do not uproot or burn palms or cut down fruitful trees 4- Do not slaughter a sheep or a cow or a camel, except for food 5- If one fights his brother, [he must] avoid striking the face, for God created him in the image of Adam 6- Do not kill the monks in monasteries, and do not kill those sitting in places of worship 7- Do not enforce Islam 8- Do not wish for an encounter with the enemy; pray to God to grant you security; but when you [are forced to] encounter them, exercise patience. 9- No one may punish with fire except the Lord of Fire. 10- Accustom yourselves to do good if people do good, and to not do wrong even if they commit evil. Now tell me... do you see the word rape on this list? I hope JBS themselves answer, I hope S. Golub himself replies.
@kaptainkafir62316 жыл бұрын
that of course depends on how the quran interprets the word rape and innocent. if the booty is granted by the most high (rolling eyes) its not rape after all. a word btw which has a complete different connotation in a modern society than it did in the barbarian 7th century desert under the rule of a warlord.

MELT UP :You need to either read the whole Quran or read it properly. War booty is allowed and those opposing Mohammed or Islam are allowed to be killed in fact it's demanded. Taking sexual slaves is rape in any circumstance and the demand to kill those who oppose Islam (and why should anyone accept a doctrine they have no belief in?) is murder. Women have certainly been murdered (and young people who could be said to be children). Read Abu Bhukari and the hadiths as well as just the Quran.

Notice how he implies " One small Jewish state surrounded by Arab states...," as if being Jewish is an ethnicity. All authentic Jews of Arabia were Arabs. Judaism is a belief not an ethnicity. Judaism itself was a local, tribal Arabian belief. The Jews who lived in harmony with their counterparts the Arab Muslims and Christians were Arabs dark skin and have nothing to do with the European Jews who embraced Judaism through conversion. Jewish is the same as you say "Muslim", "Christian" , but Jewish is not the same as you say "Italian" Russian'. The two state solution is a farce fed to the world. Israel was never interested in giving one inch of land they stole. This farce is used to drag the situation under the excuse of ongoing and never ending negotiation, all while Palestinian land is being populated by the settlers.
@secularhumanist65776 жыл бұрын
+josephbel So there is a lack of peace due to Arabs having a problem with light-skinned people living among them? Well, it sounds like the Arabs have a racism complex. As for European Jews, no, most of them are not descended from a European-convert population. According to studies conducted on Jewish Y chromosomes by geneticists Harry Ostrer and Michael Hammer, Ashkenazi (European) and Sephardic Jews share a common paternal ancestry and relate more to each other than they do to the populations among which they lived for centuries in Diaspora. In addition, the studies concluded that the Jewish genetic cluster was interspersed with Palestinian and Syrian populations. Therefore, notions that Jews are just a religious group and nothing more is blatantly and provably false. www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC18733/
@josephbel6 жыл бұрын
The lack of peace is caused by the ongoing occupation, the inhumane treatment of the indigenous population and the daily land grab. As to the Y chromosomes, are we to do a DNA match with Uganda? And few more places? Pick and chose your geneticist because Dr Erak Elhaik says otherwise. For me it doesn't even matter that they have a biblical link to the Israelite, even if they did, they have no right to that land, the only way you have a right is if you are born there and this applies all over. To displace in the most cruel way the Palestinians and bring in strangers from all over the world is a crime against humanity, and to do it for 70 years, Wow!!!
@secularhumanist65776 жыл бұрын
+josephbel Palestinian displacement was the result of the Palestinian Arabs opting for unwarranted violence instead of peaceful compromise with their Jewish neighbours; the response to the UNGA resolution calling for the partition of then-British Mandate Palestine being case and point, among others. If you initiate violence and end up beaten, you have no moral right to claim to be a victim. Perhaps you ought to consider that before throwing what seems like unconditional support behind the "inhumanely-treated, displaced Palestinians". As for the Jews, they literally had no other place to call home. For centuries, Jews throughout Europe had been subject to everything from arbitrary expulsions to mass pogroms to genocide, effectively convincing the Jews that their future was not to be had on this continent; even America, which had historically been a refuge for persecuted Jews, ceased to be amiable to notions of preserving Jewish life. Therefore, the establishment of a Jewish homeland away from the Jewish graveyard of Europe was viewed as both necessary and just by those dedicated towards this goal. Moreover, the only region on the planet where Jews had ever exercised national sovereignty was Palestine - effectively rendering the land the only place on Earth where Jews had historic/national title.

Jews were granted and encouraged to develop a degree of Autonomy, subject to the authority of the Mandate administration. Seems it is you! that needs to read the Mandate document.

@@shainazion4073 A reminder that the LoN's Mandate ended in 1948, it only has historical relevance today, no actual relevance to current geo-political events.

lie, Palestine Mandate was created for a Jewish national home in Palestine. Thos are the exact words, this is when Palestine included Jordan.
