The unfazed attitude of Shane, even post backlash, reflects a lot about his integrity and ability to remain comedically creative under pressure. It's astounding how easily comedy can be undermined in today's overly polarized climate.

I remember The day I learned the truth about people with down syndrome. I was in my early twenties delivering pizza and when a young man opened the door, I got that sinking feeling that I wasn't going to get a tip. My ignorant self assumed that he wouldn't be smart enough to know to do that or something. Man, I still want to kick my own ass thinking about my attitude back then. Needless to say, I was quite wrong. He picked up on my dour mood and his smile dropped just a bit as he asked if I was okay. Thankfully I was respectful enough to say "oh, you don't need to worry about it." He said "well then, neither should you" with a reinvigorated smile. I gave him the pizza and he gave me the money WITH a tip he had already set aside. Before I knew it he had grabbed me in a big hug and told me it was going to be okay, whatever it was. I walked out of that apartment building in tears, at once feeling horrible and wonderful. Everyone, and I mean everyone, is an incredible and unique person worthy of love and no one exemplifies that more than one of these precious people.

That last statement you made is something I actually needed to hear. I’m a professional dancer at Disney and I’m one of the only white straight males in my workplace. I’ve struggled to be accepted by my peers because they mostly talk about unrelatable topics like how hard it is to be gay, black, a woman, etc. in the workplace. I hear nonstop jokes and digs towards men, specifically white men and even more specifically white straight men. Apparently they don’t realize I fall into all 3 of those categories or they just don’t care as they continuously spew sexist, heterophobic, and down right hateful comments towards my demographic with me sitting next to them. What bothers me even more is how much they complain about the workplace being unfair when we are working at Disney together and they have a plethora of giveaways, celebrations, and promotions in the workplace for being anything but a white straight male. I live a life in fear for my job as my wife and are about to start a family together and how I’m supposed to provide if the thing I’ve put years of hard work into (my BFA in dance as well as years of training and experience) does not accept me for who I am. Even posting this comment scares me as, even though I’ve said nothing hateful towards any community, I still feel someone could see this and try to get me fired. Time to be as authentic as possible and pray God guides me and my family through this life.

Shane is hands down one of the best comedians doing it at the moment. Don't take his skits on SNL as a measure of Gillis' comedic talent, that's SNL & even Jesus himself doesn't have the ability to make SNL funny. If you really want to see what SNL should be then check out Gilly & Keeves. "OnlyFans Dad" is hands down one of the funniest sketch comedy bits I've ever seen in my life. "You don't want to see how the sausage is made but you'll sit down & eat all the sausage.". Shane was touched by Norm Macdonald when he was in the womb. His mom sat too close to the TV when Weekend Update with Norm came on & Shane was touched by Norm. Rumor has it that his mom played scrabble with Norm when she was 8 months pregnant & now Shane doesn't own a doghouse. The GOAT touched the next generations GOAT.
@bryanf.834510 ай бұрын
I'd like to also point out that myself and family members watching the show were very impressed with the job he did on the skits as well. He stayed in character, read less off the prompter or cards, cracked up the SNL cast working with him and did a noticeably better job than any guests I've seen in a great while. Many of whom are actual actors.
