Good vid and info but I had to laugh when he said that rig is “minamalistic”. I have a RED and my “minmalistic” system is simply a monitor on top, a lens and focus wheel and of course the battery.

There are always important informations from him. But he shouldn’t compare things with the C500 and cable stuff. Things have changed and you don’t need such a recorder as in those days. Back in the days he loved the C500 and used it for cinema and commercial.

Thanks for doing this in 4K. Any reason for cameraman run follow focus versus wireless focus for a focus puller? Just curious.
@filmmakers_academy6 жыл бұрын
Thank you for this great question! Here are some reasons why... 1. An AC can usually have better depth perception and can judge focus better while using a manual focus. 2. Wireless follow focus system (even though it's rare) can experience inference at a distance.
@AdamBrianDada6 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the reply -- that's what I figured myself and it's good to hear it from a pro. I see more and more focus pullers on smaller and smaller productions, though, which always interests me because it's an additional labor expense that doesn't really appear to be needed all the time (most of the time?).

clearly not measuring seconds on the side of that battery plate... measuring the voltage of the V mount battery when plugged in (around 14.4v), and the slowly dropping voltage of the three 16650 batteries (4.2v fully charged each, coming to 12.6v). That's why it drops suddenly from 14.4v to around 12.0v when the "timer" starts. Main consequence is that if you are expecting the camera die when that number hits 0, you will be very disappointed.. the camera should quit when it reaches the bottom if the input voltage tolerance for the RED.
