Yes, showing the control settings for 'walking out' from the dock made it very clear. Side slip...guess I never visualized that maneuver with a barge. Pretty cool. EDIT: sideslip is used for increasing drag or overcoming cross current. But the controls inputs seem to be the similar.

Was that a pleasure craft that disappeared behind the mast of the barge for a bit at the end there? Hoo boy! Spooky! It honestly looked like that boat ran right into your path and stopped juuuust as he disappeared behind the mast there! It's impossible to tell distance from just casually watching a youtube video, but from where I'm sitting, I got a knot in my back watching it! lol

Hi Tim, those Air Miles must be stacking up with all the trips in/out Porta Rica. I miss those miles with retirement and only one trip UK and back every 3/4 years, but I do spoil myself with a business class seat, I just love flying on the A380 with the bar up the back oh yes and wide, wide seats that go flat. Not to mention the hydration as soon as you get on board. As for the extended work pattern when married it was a problem as your promising loved ones a date and it gets put back, it kinda overspills when you do get back and that's no fault of yours. When working in Denmark I started a cycle of 6 nights shifts of 8hrs. One day off, 6 back shifts a day off, 6 day shifts finish at 3pm. catch the 6pm flight to London for 7 off. Now I would change cars and side of the road at the airports at each end, now that was fun.

Wow! I think you have me beat by a long shot. 😂 Funny you asked. I ended up flying on JetBlue and got a JetBlue credit card and miles account. As you'd guess, the points/miles started building up. Then when I was ready to use them, I found out two unfortunate things. 1) JetBlue says they fly places that their partners fly to and their partners don't take JB points. 2)JB doesn't really have the business or first class, So my dreams of frying to spain in one of those cubby holes in first class only resulted in more points I have yet to use. 😂 CUOTO

Great Share! I like the camera work showing the controls - I remember having the 2 camera setup where we could see the instruments and the action out on deck! I'm not sure but I like this approach better, giving the instruments a nod is a great thing, even if so brief, it 'feels' like you are able to see the machinery respond to the hands. Keep exploring! Seagull Bleep is on point! CUOTO ~__/)_._/)__*

With numerous small and not-so-small boats all running radar, is the radiation a concern.
@TimBatSea

Thank you for watching Rod. You would think so, but there are two things keeping that from happening. 1) the new digital radars use 1/30 of the power and transmit at hardly any power. 2) even our ultra high power radars say they are safe at a minimum distance between 1 and 3 meters. CUOTO

Thanks for all the gauge detail on this one, makes things much more understandable for us neophytes. 10:30 the starboard engine is in reverse, right? How do you know that by looking at the digital readout as I would expect a '-' before the number to show reverse.
