Hey, every African American I have ever met has given this subject a lot of thought. You would be surprised how eloquently you could convey your thoughts about racism in America if some stuck a microphone in your face. I think I am safe in saying, "All African Americans have a personal story to tell about Race in America."

😢 It pains to admit that Shannon is much stronger in this subject than my man StephenA! Damn!
@GTONeko
@GTONeko 7 жыл бұрын
When you have to consider what was said in the "intro" vid for the show of Skip moving to FS1, this show is basically going to have the edge on what can be covered and said, without too much fear of the figureheads putting a "pin" on certain moments and topics. I know that more than likely on Stephen A's show on Sirius XM, he's able to touch the subject a lot more and further in depth, but when you're tied up as part of a company that has a certain "image" for certain time frames, you're limited to what can be said overall and thus, you've got to watch your "p's and q's".
@b.kawhi-it7214
@b.kawhi-it7214 7 жыл бұрын
+GTONeko you're definitely right about that in general, but notice even when StephenA does a video outside of First Take like Facebook Live and on KZbin, he's still not as strong and uncompromising as Shannon on this subject. Understand, I'm a loyal diehard fan of StephenA and I "religously" never disagree with him on anything, but I have to admit that on this subject of the Kaepernick & NFL players protest that there were some things that StephenA has said that were hard to agree with.

GTFOH. Shannon is droppin knowledge with eloquence and intelligence. Skip made his name off of saying shit he knew would get a reaction out of people no matter how illogical it is. He does keep it real when it comes to racial issues though. I'll give him credit for that. And that's why the show will do well but make no mistake, Shannon is the muscle that makes this show go and to suggest otherwise only shows your denial of that fact.

More African American Athletes and Celebrities should search their hearts and find a way to address this issue of Police brutality. Every African American Man I have ever met has been given the talk about the police by a loving elder at some point in their lives. However, Every African American Man I know has been subjected lawless policing! They like to say, "All lives matter," since when has that been true in America?

+Shane Jones I think you went In a whole different direction than what I talked about, but as a former college athlete what you're going through does happen. There's politics involved in everything. The best people don't always make it or get the benefit of the doubt regardless of who you are. One thing I can tell you about how I overcame what you're personally going through is that you have to make it undeniable that you're better. When that happens you won't have to say anything and everything will fall into place. Other people around you will start raising questions to your coach and he'll have pressure from the outside and things will change.

I can be pro black and pro American, the problem is that American Government since the 1700s has done everything it could to oppress, remove wealth, brutalize, exploit and create increasingly harder hurdles to jump through for Black Americans, while on the other hand White Americans of today can have the nicest things because they inherit wealth that their ancestors stole, cheated ,killed and was given way better opportunity to amass wealth. So yeah we are sick of it, I'm tired that I have to work 2 to 3 times harder than my fellow counterpart. I'm tired that if I mess up once I'll never have a chance to enjoy the same lifestyle of my counterpart who has equally made the same mistake.

No shit it's a lot deeper. As some one who has friends that are homosexuals, they didn't wake up one day and choose to to be a homosexual. That's like saying every one is straight and they just try to rebel and be different. That just makes no sense what so ever. I agree with what Shannon said because he actually includes every one in the conversation about equality. It's not about one race like you ignorant and delusional BLM supporters try to make it out to be.

I agree. There are some cases when you should talk about it. Just not every day. When I turn on a sports show I'd like to hear about sports. I'm not saying they shouldn't talk about race at all, but it shouldn't be an every day topic.

You just said it, "hundreds and one man", they count because they're in the VERY small minority. That's Shannon's point, you can't use the minority and ignore the majority, that's just stupid.
@jonnyhan
@jonnyhan 7 жыл бұрын
No, Shannon's point is stupid as shit. There is no systematic oppression of black people. They have the same path to success as any person. Their culture compared to other cultures does not breed progress.
@blackanimelover18
@blackanimelover18 7 жыл бұрын
jonnyhan I'm sorry, but your comment is very ignorant and is clearly spoken from someone that honestly doesn't get what Shannon is talking about. Like I've been saying to others, when you walk in the shoes of black people, then you can talk.

Revy's Bitch No, your point is idiotic. Any person in the world can claim he has it tougher than others by simply saying "you need to walk in my shoes". Well that is impossible to do so and people that cannot provide facts try to argue in this utterly stupid manner.

+Mason Monhollen the fact that america was stolen does have a lot to do with it. And why should people be forced to respect a country that doesnt respect them? Our country doesn't even respect veterans. And football players make their own revenue they cant help that they make millions, entertainment is big Buisness thats just how it is.
@karmicobsession1636

Scared of toasters no our country doesn't. I know veterans personally and they don't get treated like they should, especially when it comes to health care. i shouldn't be hearing from my friends who are vets how horrible the VA is, thats all im saying.

ALL land has been stolen. No land that is currently owned by a race was their's originally. I bet if it was reversed and black people had 44 presidents and 95% of leadership through U.S. History you'd be singing a different tune. Africa wasn't originally all black. Don't see you bringing that up.

I can't help it. I love all these sports talk shows and the different personalities on them. Shannon is extra special though. He is a sincere and genuine person, intelligent and articulate. And he has a great sense of humor. Don't get me wrong, he's dead serious here talking about injustices against blacks. He and Joy's voices are the most important ones on this topic. But I love how even in heated debates about sports, Shannon never really loses his cool, never takes himself too seriously like all the other sports analysts. I feel like he's up there having fun and putting positive energy into the world. And he's always looking like a million bucks doing it!
