Mainlining is the best technique to achieve a perfect canopy...scrog is good too but mainlining is what works well with LEDs if you don't want to use a net but a piece of fence is way better since you can use it to train your plants...grow horizontally first then when the space is full let it grow vertically and the fence help give the plants the little twist needed to have all the stems grow in the same way if you don't turn them 2 will grow on the sides and 2 will on top and bottom and this one is often not strong enough to use it but with a little help it will grow like you want...tall plants don't mean more weight! Have a lifted one and lots of good vibes from France growers family

Hi Scotty 👋. I'm new to growing auto flower and have a couple of questions for you. I've learned so much from your videos that you've earned my trust! Haven't failed me yet!! When the autos start to flower, do I need to change my nutrients to follow the plant progression and mix my nutrients accordingly? I'm using general hydro Flora series. Don't want to screw up at this point. Thanks 👍. ( I use recharge as well as silica and calmag and enjoying the results)

New grower, please help! I’m sitting in front of my first seedling. I’ve never even seen a cannabis plant until this one sprouted. I only have a 100w viparspectra p1000. Should I top? I’m worried that the light will have to chase a main kola and neglect the rest of the plant as the distance increases. On the other hand, will my small light cover enough surface area for a bushier, shorter plant. Any feedback would help a lot. ✌️

In my personal opinion, healthy bottom fan leaves should always stay! The plant already used it's energy on developing them and it makes more sense to defoliate the upper half, with the actual bud sites. Those fan leaves not only store a lot of essential nutrients for the rest of the plant and are transforming a lot of stuff, but also help taking in the heavy co2... All of this, of course, only works with the right amount of feeding! Also: Too many growers defoliate way too much overall, because they think fan leaves are a burden 😢 It's not helping, it decreases your bud development. Maybe time to update "lollipopping" into a 2.0... 🤔
@Mr420guru
@Mr420guru 7 ай бұрын
Correct, just like my solar panels. If one stops working on my house, I get less electricity, same with plant those leafs are the solar panels of the plant the more you take off the less energy it's getting. The more you have I think the more better the bud and yield.
@taylordauwe
@taylordauwe 7 ай бұрын
If they’re getting light, yes, but if they’re not, it makes no sense to keep them. I don’t use trellis nets but I do use lst clips which opens up the canopy and helps distribute light to all budding sites but if I’m still seeing signs of light deficiency on lower fan leaves I’ll clip them. I actually just did that this morning on two lower fan leaves on each of my autos in my current run. I’m only in week 2 of flower and they were already showing light deficiency so I’m glad I caught it early on, gives more time for the upper fan leaves to soak up that sun.
@weareinflames
@weareinflames 7 ай бұрын
You are correct about them storing nutrients and handling co2 BUT any leaves that aren't receiving light, are all consuming energy to maintain themselves, and cannot give back to the rest of the plant. So it goes from positive right to a deficit in my opinion. A 100 PPFD leaf at the bottom is going to be a poor dim vessel for the plant, at best. Third and lastly, if you aren't over-defoliating autoflowers, then you can simply give it 2 weeks to rejuvenate some leaf and unrid the stress before flipping it into flower.

When you do SOG you don't need to...but when you do scrog or mainlining you need to as the canopy is so dense that some bud sites do not receive any light or not enough...and what about those who use topping plants are so tall because of this method who is the most expensive of all since veg takes for ever... I do scrog and mainlining since I have between 8 and 10 weeks to veg...I cut everything under the fence...my LEDs have about 2 feet penetration let's say 20 inches so everything under is shaved after stretch...I get 1.6gpw in living soil and amendments plus a few compost teas and 1.9gpw with synthetics nutes and coco coir... If you veg 4 to 6 weeks then flowering you don't really need to cut anything on a traditional grow... Some need humidifiers some dehumidifier some need HPS in cold areas some will stick to LEDs (I built my first Cree cxb3590 CD @1400mA DIY panels in 2014 and it increased my gram per watt so much that since I only upgraded to better ones...today I have 1X 60w QB's with lm301h EVO diodes over each sq/ft but I use it at 30w/sq/ft for efficiency and effectiveness...with productive clones I could reach the 2gpw barrier!)some love synthetic nutes some organic etc... The best cannabis is outdoor imho...better taste better effects better experience...you would not believe what I done to be able to grow a huge plant Mendo dope style...I dig a huge hole in my garden with a shovel it took me 4 months to move the equivalent of 16 X 4x4 almost 1 per week Have a lifted one and lots of good vibes from France growers family

Instead of doing all kinds of crazy things to my plants to get better yields I just plant two more seeds and let em rip. Seeds aren't that expensive. Want bigger yields, plant more seeds.
