Hi Heath, great video. One idea to eliminate the brush lines is to wet your fingers heavily , put an bit more of your plaster on your fingers and rub it in and around... this will create more realistic contours and eliminate the lines.

Sorry i missed half the live stream. i do like this cliff note version. about the plaster, After applying, you can get a squirt bottle and spritz the plaster immediate, the wipe over it with your finger or foam brush. you could also sand them out later once it dries.
@HumancityJunction

Hey Heath. This video came together very well considering you edited it from the live stream. Well done. Nice to see the plaster part of the project. I have not used that particular plater myself. But after it dries for a while you may be able to come back and rub out the brush strokes some. And lightly spraying some water on it may help with that as well.

Nice work, I’m watching the live stream as well. I’ve run my trains on Mike Fifers club layout, unitrack really does work well, but My current double and quad have atlas code 80 for mains and Tomix for the trolly line.

I definitely have mixed feelings about Kato Unitrack. I am not a fan of the turnouts, but that also could have been because I did not know what I was doing with the first one. I like to have the mainlines up on cork and the sidings lower, but Unitrack does not really allow it. For now, I am sticking with the T-Track standard, but if I get away from it I might try something else. Thanks for subscribing. -Heath

OMG!!! "the voices in my head." 👹💩🤖🤡🤠🙀 Shaper sheet looks to be a perfect item to use on those modules. Of course it would be cost porhibitive on a layout like mine. For the plaster, try a sponge. You could use a sponge brush or just a regular sponge. The sponge will allow you to add water(to the sponge) that will help in smoothing the plaster. Great to see you getting into the scenery!! ...Claude

Great instructional video heath, hot glue is my best friend. I'm not sure if there is anything you can do to reduce brush struck with plaster. Due to its thickness, even watered down. Take care!

Hi Heath, I have two suggestions, first just crumple the shaper sheets into a ball, unroll and then make final adjustments. Second, when applying plaster, just before the plaster dries, stipple the plaster with your brush by simply holding the brush vertical to the plaster and tapping the plaster with the bristles of the brush. This will add a nice texture and remove any brush strokes. With a little practice you'll become an expert in a short amount of time. I am a little surprised you painted the sides of the module with the plaster and did not just paint them with the paint used to dye the plaster. I'm looking forward to watching this corner model progress, thanks Heath for posting the video. Cheers Rich S.

Rich, Yeah, I was a little surprised I painted the sides with the plaster also. I was hoping it would give the foam a bit more structure. Thanks for the stippling suggestion. -Heath
