The guitar is looking great Chris. I agree with you that the magnifying visor is a must. I use it all of the time, and not always for lutherie work.

The neck screw holes in the body are better loose, then all the tension in the screw is holding the neck on. Slight wiggle can be good with a bolt on for getting the string alignment just right too. Guitar looks cool bud!

That Tele is coming along nicely. Maybe buy another pickguard before modifying the body? Just a thought. I'm looking forward to the finished product!

We’ll see about the pickguard. I’m thinking it won’t be too bad to adjust the body shape. I should be able to get it done pretty quickly with the spindle sander and then I’d just have to put the roundover back in. I appreciate the feedback! Thanks for watching!

Looking good Chris! Maple is so much harder than mahogany. I had never carved an only mahogany neck until the first acoustic guitar. Always use lam necks or maple. Carving mahogany was like taking a vacation.

Thanks Dane! I’m glad I wasn’t crazy thinking it was taking way too long. I switched away from the Shinto rasp about the same time I would on the mahogany necks I have carved. After a couple of long sessions, I felt like I wasn’t getting anything done. I finally went back to the Shinto and went a lot farther with it before finally going back to the normal rasp I use. I felt like I had wasted so much time. But now I know for next time! I appreciate the view and for your comment!
