I love all your videos, but the shark attack portion and how he told it is award worthy. I think he felt comfortable enough with you that his storyteller side came out full blast. One of your best, Aaron. Congrats.

I do enjoy listening to the Captains talk, keeping it real on YT, I don't understand much, but their passion about their livelihood keeps me enthralled. Absolute massive kudos to Capt. Kaynan, took extreme guts to get back in the water. Another great Dock Talk! Thank you Aaron!

Love the dock talks!! Suggestion; talk about what’s coming up next like spawns or whatever. Guys that are learning really appreciate that information without sharing specific locations. We all like to hunt but it’s helpful to know what to look for.

Re: Blacktip sharks. Had a seafood biz in the 80's . Would get a 15 lb. bullet cut flown up once inna while. You soak that in milk to get the ammonia out, then baste the pieces in jazzed up butter and put it on the grill - it tastes like steak. We even ate it with A-1 steak sauce as a dip...and we ate it all. Now ? You tell me.

Blacktip ceviche should be really good. The texture of shark meat is nice for ceviche, I ate hammerhead ceviche in Costa Rica and it was amazing. The shark was a 4 footer I caught trying to catch snapper. The captain wouldn't hear anything about letting it go. He was right, his wife made some of the best ceviche I ever had.

My dear neighbor Mike and his wife Lori were on the Fort for several years before he retired. What I know about Mike, he would have done everything possible to get him to the hospital. I just can't see him being a wimpy rules follower, in this type of emergency. He did tell me that he kicked Jimmy Buffet off the Park. Jimmy was learning to fly these very new planes and he would use the Fort to practice landing in the water. I guess there's a small beach and Jimmy was swimming, and Mike noticed his plane floating away, and he said the current was about to steal Jimmy's plane. So Mike got in his cart and drove to the beach and yelled to Jimmy to get in, because his plane was floating away. Mike drove him across the island and Jimmy jumped out and swam his butt off right before the heavy current. Mike said that Jimmy could swim well. But the last time Mike saw the plane with an anchor, Lori's sister and family were visiting the Fort and their young children loved Jimmy Buffet and Mike drove them to the beach and Jimmy was all alone. The two kids told Jimmy that they were big fans and could they get his autograph. Jimmy walked right by the two kids and said F Off. Mike told Jimmy to return to his plane before he gets pounded. The children's parents wanted to get Jimmy's mind right, and Jimmy was lucky to get away unscared. Mike told him he was banded from the Fort and the Jimmy knew that he meant it. Not the first time that I've heard what a tool Jimmy was. I saw him open for Loggins and Messina at the Hollywood Slimatorium. Nobody knew who him, yet. He'd be playing for beers in Coconut Grove around the same time. Monty Trainer's was his home bar, right before he got more popular. But to tell two little kids to F Off , there's no excuse.

It’s funny when people say big fish are significantly worse in meat quality, if they are iced perfectly and bled, nothing is wrong with the meat. We sell to 5star chefs and they have never complained about the meat on a big cubera snapper or black grouper.
@KeyWestWaterman3 ай бұрын
Black grouper not so much, I've eaten them up to 70 lbs and can't tell a difference. But depends what you mean by big cubera. Anything over 40 lbs or so most of the markets here won't even buy them. I don't like the texture of them, but depends what you're doing with it. Cover it in sauce or fry it and i'm sure it's fine. Your average person probably couldn't tell the difference. Especially if you give it to a well trained chef. But eat enough fish, and you'll taste the difference on a big snapper. But that's just my opinion.

Went to New Smyrna Beach for a Week and Had our elderly Mom and Madison, Conner and Zachary (the Grandkids) .. Zachary and some boys were Rocking the Boogie Boards and Hanging Out every Day.. They'd go South on the beach and put in and Come by in the Current.. I was Fishing and thet were floating.. I kept my eyes on them and told them to go South so they Wouldn't continue Way up the beach.. We got Ice Cream the next to last day and Came back to the Condo.. Zachary and the boys (like 6 of them total) were in the Surf and they had stopped moving.. In a Cut I suppose.. I was fishing with fish bites and Noticed the boys were stationary .. Like 40 minutes after the Ice Cream I saw All of the boys run out but Zachary and Conner ran by fast.. I dropped my Rod and ran like a block to see Zachary walking out white as a Ghost and falling down with a laid open Right Calf with a 9inch bite radius.. He was 11 I think.. A Nurse Practitioner was out there and tied the tourniquet with Zachary's Boogie Board Chord.. His Ambulance Ride and 3 or 4 hour Surgery and like 300 stitches later and He's Here with us at the House today.. He's Running and Playing Soccer even though his Right foot toes stay Clinched Now.. The kid is Tough and We Love Him.. Wish it would've been Me instead of Him if the Truth be Told.. Thanks Aaron.. Love your Channel.. 27:42

TOURNIQUET WILL NOT RESULT IN LIMB LOSS. I’m glad your friend was OK, but he’s putting out bad info.
@Misfit_5563 ай бұрын
Glad he survived the Shark, but I do want to share that his input on tourniquets is incorrect. That is old knowledge and is incorrect. 20 years of combat in GWOT has proven this false. TQ’s have been left on in some cases up to 48 hours and the limb can be saved. I assist with instructing stop the bleeding classes, this is not true at all.
