Thanks for the help. I was struggling to find the ones behind the control buttons. I can now clean the motor

I am always reluctant to advise on tools needed because I’ve taken hundreds if not thousands of shark vacuum cleaners apart and the exact same model can have different size screws, but the basics are you need a torx bit with a hole in the end, common sizes used it T9, T10, T15 and T20, but the 2 screws inside the bin are usually a small cross headed type.

Mine tries to start but immediately cuts out. Any idea why and can it be fixed?

Check the continuity of the 3 wires that run through the wand. Mine has a break in continuity on one of the wires in the wand. The vacuum starts, speed goes very high and then stops with flashing lights on the vacuum head. I'm currently struggling to dismantle the wand.

I found this video very helpful in taking mine apart, but there is no way to clean the motor, and mine sounds like it's about to take off! It's gotten very loud. I'm afraid it's beyond fixing........

Did you throw it out or find a fix? Mine tries to start too but immediately cuts out.

@@lagunafishing I tossed it. I would gladly buy another one since the batteries are still good, but they've changed the design and no longer use the same batteries.

@@jefflbi Yeah shame you can't buy these anymore. Wife bought a replacement battery for ours thinking that was the issue. However it must be something else as they are good. So far I've got it stripped down to expose the motor, now I'm wondering if the brushes might be worn or dust contamination deep inside. Thanks for responding anyway.

Is there a reverse video?
@adamburton2165 Жыл бұрын
No at the time of making video I wasn’t interested in doing a reverse video, but at each stage you are struggling with if you pause the video it may help, regards

Thank you for having the only video on KZbin of taking this thing apart, but could you maybe save the recording for your 2nd time around on it? It would be helpful to skip all the wasted time of you fumbling around with it, trying to figure it out. My advice, take it apart, put it back together, THEN tape yourself taking it apart the 2nd time. Also, move the camera. Maybe a bird's eye view. The only thing worse than watching you fumble around for 17 minutes was not being able to see anything because your giant diabetes hand was right in front of the camera. If you're gonna be a KZbinr, put the effort in and do it right. Sorry, I didn't mean to be mean, but I got very frustrated. Thank you for trying.

Thank you, but maybe you should take the time in making the videos yourself, the time it takes, editing, uploading and everything it takes and oh yeah, for nothing, I get paid nothing for trying to help people save their items from landfill, saving them money, not me, what do i save by making these videos???

VERY much respect and appreciation to Adam for taking the time and effort in making this ONLY video that I've found on taking this unit apart. Maybe you would not be so critical and mean sounding if you had a "Diabetes hand". I will plan on sending a donation to him in appreciation.
