"i think we probably deal with the most revenge porn of any company" the fact that didn't perk any of their ears up worries me, that alone is something i'd say is worth money or at the very least asking about because frankly it's a growing problem with our expanding online presence and self branding. the fact jenny hears that and instantly questions whether or not that means a company is getting the real person...wtf is wrong with you?

Probably because they're very successful entrepreneurs so they have very good poker faces,there ears may have pricked up but they are good at hiding their emotions, if they got too excited the entrepreneurs would have a massive advantage during negotiations cause they would know that the dragons really really want it so they would hold out for a better deal thinking that the dragons will fold first cause of how badly their interested

@Mattbarson23
@Mattbarson23 5 жыл бұрын
History Maze I think this idea quite disturbing tbh. If you haven’t got social media, it’s a red flag. But everyone has a past, and how you behaved before doesn’t mean you’ll do the same thing in the future. I get in some respects, some acts aren’t forgivable, for instance if you’ve had a previous track record of racism, anti social behaviour for instance, but surely what employers need to get is that we can in effect filter all that stuff now because we can choose whether we post it or not

@@Mattbarson23 it's the idea of making 'privacy' a negative thing. ..it ties in with smartphones spying on us etc..we all know it - yet we just accept it. I worry for the future and what it'll be like for my kids.

Totally unsubstantiated claim
@HistoryMaze
@HistoryMaze 5 жыл бұрын
@@wmk500 let me substantiate it for you then...from bbc website: "There are of course instances where some apps have been found to record user activity for advertising purposes. Last June, researchers at Northeastern University in the US state of Massachusetts tested 17,000 mobile apps from various Android app stores around the world. They found no evidence of listening - but they did discover some relatively small applications were sending screenshots and even videos of user phone activities to third parties. Although this was done for development purposes and not for advertising. It's also accepted that nation-state groups routinely attack the mobile devices of high-level targets for espionage purposes. In May, WhatsApp admitted that hackers had managed to remotely install surveillance software onto devices through its app. " So WK - no 'evidence' of listening - but it's possible - and hackers can do this... More from bbc site: "The post-privacy economy Former Amazon chief scientist Andreas Weigend says the time has come to recognise that privacy is now an illusion. He grew up in West Germany, where his family moved following his father's release from prison in East Germany, where he had been a political prisoner. Later, he discovered that, though his father's Stasi files had been destroyed, the secret police had opened a file on him, in 1986, when he was a graduate student in the US. Though he felt vulnerable after this revelation, his views on privacy are clear. "I have realised that even if you were a privacy zealot, you don't have a chance. "Data is being created as we breathe, as we live, and it is too hard a battle to try to live without creating data. "And that is a starting point: that you assume that we do live in a post-privacy economy." Indeed, he has just written a book called Data For the People: How to Make Our Post-Privacy Economy Work for You." ""What is disappointing is that below the waterline, below what we can see, some of these companies have doubled-down or tripled-down on the extent to which they are grabbing data and doing things with that data without you ever being able to see." But he thinks there is a limit to how much individual behaviour can achieve in securing online privacy. "Almost every positive move that Facebook and Google and the other large companies have taken, particularly the data companies… has been as a result of regulatory pressure." Most technology companies are based in the US where, he says, lobbyists have prevented regulations from being imposed. That lobbying influence has proven less effective in Europe, where a new law, the General Data Protection Regulation, designed to increase safeguards on the storage and handling of personal data, is due to come into effect next year. "My worry is that we'll become desensitised and we'll become quite resigned to the fact that, 'Yeah, our data is harvested, and, yeah, I guess it is not secure, and, yeah, I guess any criminal who wanted to can get access to it.' "The defence of privacy will be the saviour of the future, essentially." lots more on the net if you look ...I don't need to show you.

Dragon's Den really felt like you are actually dealing with businessmen. Shark Tanks is full of businessmen doing TV personalities. 😊

Literally can't give it away for free. I wonder what the issue is with it? Having an office in that area isn't cheap at all, that would normally be a big carrot for me if I was just setting up, or even if you were established but just want to expand.

Rejects Shark Tanks offer and then gets on this version of the show. These guys are full of it. This is hundreds of thousands of dollars in more free publicity. They shouldn't have even been allowed on.

Long term upside. They had to buy equipment and spend a large amount of money initially to create the product to sell (in tech this is not cheap). But the investors know that with 4000000 in revenue and with increasing revenue, this business can eventually have positive income and develop the capacity to pay off its debts.

Touker is such a greedy and arrogant man. He always wants too much of a percentage of a business and always wants to control the direction of the business as well without his ideas being given mearly as suggestions.
