@YesPlease14 жыл бұрын
@@JSSTyger The first offer valued her company at $600k. Her offer valued the entrepreneur's company at just $400k based on the equity offered. The $200k loan is quite risky for an entrepreneur to take because I think they're required to pay that back even if the business fails and there's no money coming in anymore to pay it 😬. That could be an amount of debt that she might never be able to pay off in her lifetime.

I don't think I've been through an episode of this, where they haven't said "it's too early stage for me". I mean isn't that the entire point of the programme? These are meant to be seasoned business professionals and a little bit of risk scares them off.
@calvinlooi45005 жыл бұрын
They are seasoned business professionals for a reason. Different people have different risk appetites. You're implying that every business is going to be successful with their help. Be reminded they are using their own money, and so they have to access whether will they get their money back.
@Niko-wg6pi5 жыл бұрын
@@calvinlooi4500 Yes they do have to take the money into consideration. I hadn't doubted that. But bear in mind, this is a business arrangement, if the company succeeds the Shark does as well. My point is not one about the money anyway, it's about being investable. The aim is to transform a business, not take shares in a successful company that doesn't require them.
@calvinlooi45005 жыл бұрын
@@Niko-wg6pi as you said, IF it succeeds. Most companies fail. There is no 1 size fits all in terms of choosing a company to invest. Different people have different criteria. Everyone wants to succeed. But how many actually do? The role of an investor is to taking into account all the unforeseen circumstances and identify if one has the capability to be successful.
@Niko-wg6pi5 жыл бұрын
@@calvinlooi4500 I can get behind what you are saying. My only issue is with these 'unforeseen circumstances'. Let's not enlarge this, it's a TV show. These Sharks are doing a number of things behind the scenes with these people. My knowledge of Shark Tank is unfortunately confined to this channel and perhaps I'm comparing it too much with Dragon's Den. The job of an investor is not always to pick the option with the smallest risk involved, sometimes you've gotta take a gamble - that's business. From what I've seen though, the Sharks are a lot more careful with their cash in comparison to the Dragons.
@360Billionaires5 жыл бұрын
@@Niko-wg6pi exactly what I was thinking. What is the point if it's not early stage why would I even bother coming to the sharks? I, feel they haven't got much money as compared to the dragons and sharks of America hence, the phrase " Too early stage"

Idk why you Aussies think that obtaining the US market is gonna change everything. Unless the government passes a law banning the sales of plastic bags people arnt gonna pay for this bag in America. My fruits and veggies last just as long in a plastic bag in the bottom drawer of my fridge. We just dont give a damn. Go to any grocery store in the states, maybe not CA, but theyre not just gonna stop selling plastic bags. Look at how many youd have to buy too. Aldis is like the only grocery store that doesnt sell any bags. Nobody cares about Australian made products here. Theres a reason there isnt many products here. Cause no one seeks it out.

If you're tired of throwing out old vegetables, why not eat them before they go bad?

Strange how Australians seem much more similar to Americans, compared to people from the UK.

Looks to me like a damp 4 dollar tea towel as a wrap will do, vs an over 70 dollar sewn up towel. No-brainer.
