I'm in the beverage market, it's a brutal brutal space. She got her first taste when Cuban mentioned the contracts. You can literally have the best product in the world, but 80% of the time it's blocked by a 12 year contract with Pepsico, Coca Cola, etc. These companies actually pay the markets like Shoprite, Krogers, etc to keep that shelf space. I have no doubt this is a great product, but it's borderline impossible to break into the industry without a major picking you up. So many politics from the distribution side to the shelf spacing. Can't even license because all the majors already have a sports drink. Pepsi/Gatorade Coke/Powerade and Body Armor. Terrible investment.

Everyone who watches Shark Tank should remember that all Shark Tank products do receive a bump from exposure but that doesn't mean it's a good business. What a lot of entrepreneurs fail to understand is when you bring these sharks or any investor a company that has no data or revenue; the risk for them increases significantly. The only reason she’s very confident is because she has those connections with high profile celebrities or Sports players. If she didn’t have her background to her name, they would’ve all been out from the get go. Without that, it’s 100% risk and you have no credence if it’s going to work. These people can recognize risk from a mile away, and the fact this entrepreneur failed to realize that almost cost her a deal. Though Barbara did a deal with her, it was based on a contingency of wether she could uphold her deal to market her product with the high profile player.

I’m a huge Fran Harris fan from her time in the WNBA, and I can tell she was disappointed when Mark announced he was out (and was the *first* to announce it). She and I both thought he would at least be _tempted_ to get on board given their Dallas/pro basketball connections. I’m so glad she took the deal with Barbara.

The woman was borderline aggressive and outright confrontational. There were multiple moments where I thought "shiī's about to go doowwnnn" but somehow the sharks managed to de-escalate the tension just as quickly. Moments like when she said "you're not so wonderful afterall" and "I always have a choice" can make anyone nervous. Glad the sharks handled it the way they did otherwise she wouldn't have walked away with a somewhat reasonable deal considering the bonecrushing and ruthless nature of the sports drinks industry.

She was definitely arrogant and borderline aggressive, you can see the discomfort look on their faces. Seems like a screamer to me. People who call people like this “confident” and “energetic” are probably troublemakers themselves in real life and have attitude problems ngl. It’s not hard to be polite and show respect to anyone, especially if youre relying on them for an investment
@allanpeter77002 жыл бұрын
I think it's slightly confrontational but she is very honest and straight forward so a large part of it is her personality, if she was actually malicious they would have called her out on her behavior. I mean she was a professional basketball player, probably a good portion of them have robust personalities.
