'Try looking at Lillian Hedley 's you tube tutorial on marking feathers. Shes's a traditional Durham quilter (England) and shows how the original quilters drafted feathers with an old english penny . It becomes fairly easy when you understand the trick and you can use any circular object to draw round that suits your purpose.

What type of marking pencil are you using?

She said she uses a cheap Bic because it erases easily.

She said Bohin not BIC, wish it was the price of a BIC! You want the Bohin extra fine chalk pencil.
