For anyone that loves Muji's gel ink, the refills are compatible with the Sharpie barrel. If this interests anyone, please know that the refills from the Muji retractable pen is compatible with the Sharpie S-Gel barrels but not the refills from the capped version; they are built differently at the tip end. The Muji 0.5 mm blue-black is fantastic!

I love that there’s a metal version now. I like the body but hate the ink. Luckily I have a coworker who doesn’t mind the refills so he gets the sharpie refill and I swap in an Energel right away!

I bought a 12 pk of metal S Pens from Amazon. I swapped in Energel blue 0.7 refills. I like them better than the Pentel Alloys since the barrel is thinner, and has rubber grip.

I was very pleased when I found this metal version. I prefer a 0.5 mm and blue ink, so I got myself a dozen of these and plan to use the refills with the metal pen. The metal clip is much nicer than the plastic. I also placed an order for the 4-pack gold "champagne" metal version. Nice to see Sharpie expanding to other writing instruments; I wonder what took them so long. Thanks for the video!

I got one and changed out for the .5 it works better in my opinion in the metal barrel.
@Ali-in8xi4 жыл бұрын
I find the pen writes the same no matter what barrel I'm using, plastic or metal. What makes the difference for me is the 0.5 mm tip and the blue ink. I prefer the thinner line, and for some reason my eyes seem to catch blue better than black. Go figure!!

Thanks for the review *_Question_* : Will the Zebra G-750 be a better option than this? What do you feel? Looks are somewhat similar and I like both, but I wanted to know which one feels better in hand and superior writer! !

I am debating between getting this or the Zebra G-350. I typically enjoy heavier weighted pens. The uni jetstream 4+1 is my favourite. Any suggestions?

These sharpie s gel pens are fantastic especially the metal barrel versions though so far the red & dark blue metal barrels are really hard to find........mine are the grey & rose gold the ink is good but smudges if you try writing on cardboard especially the packaging types
@aaronchamberlain97584 жыл бұрын
these are decent but i sure wish they’d go all out and make a full metal premium edition
@martinthrone70122 жыл бұрын
These metal barrel pens are as good as more expensive versions from other manufacturers just be careful not to get them from WHsmiths they're £11:99 for the plastic 3 pack & £14:99 for the metal barrel twin pack
@chronovore37264 жыл бұрын
This is interesting but I wish they ditched that grip shape. The best part of Sharpie S-Gels are the refill and the spring. The spring is a nice upgrade for the Sarasa Clip if you want a little more pep. It works very well in that body with either the S-Gel or an Energel refill.
@B_Enek03 жыл бұрын
I swap my grip out for a G2 grip 😉
@chronovore37263 жыл бұрын
@@B_Enek0 Thanks for the tip! I've since gotten and used up a bunch of Sarasa Clip pens, which are now rocking S-Gel and Energel refills with the S-Gel springs. Some but not all of the Sarasa Clips had raised print that I ended up cutting/filing off. It's been a slow burn but customizing disposable pens has been a perfect pandemic activity. =P

Can you swap the .5 for a 1.0 from a plastic version? I am also a fan of the 1.0 and I have a pack of 1.0 and would sacrifice one or two to swap to the metal version.

Yeah you can swap the refills, no problem

Nice review! Thank you. The front section looks like it's made of plastic...would you say the pen is top-heavy? If you balanced it on one finger would it lean to front or the back?
@neofliermike4 жыл бұрын
It's balance point is right at the "e" in the word sharpie. It's not like a full metal pen, the inside barrel is plastic with a metal outside sleeve. It's better than the original plastic one but, not exactly what I expected :)
@joshschwerin41694 жыл бұрын
@@neofliermike Thank you!
@Ali-in8xi4 жыл бұрын
During a finger balance, the pen stays horizontal. While I'm writing I do feel top weight, but I would not describe it as top heavy or significant; it just feels noticeable.

Is sharpie sgel pen better than pilot g2?
@unsharpen3 жыл бұрын
I don’t think so
@elisabethryder47192 жыл бұрын
In my opinion, the Pilot G2 definitely has the better ink, as many say the ink in the S Gel is okay, but not the greatest. Having just gotten a metal barrel recently, I would use the S Gel body with a different refill (like a Pentel Energel) over the Pilot G2. It's lately up to preference, but I enjoy trying these different pens out. 🙂
@martinthrone70122 жыл бұрын
Myself I don't know because I don't like pilot pens but these sharpie s gel pens are definitely better than papermate as for the ink being permanent? I don't think the advertising is misleading because I've not seen any claims for the ink being permanent 🤔 these gunmetal grey & champagne metal barrel pens are fairly common & easy to find but the other 2 colours I.e. the red & also the dark blue metal barrel pens are near impossible to find here in the uk 🇬🇧 why? I don't know
