I actually shaved my head four years ago in your honor and donated my hair to a charity for alopecia patients in Austria. 😊💚 You have always been huge, huge inspiration for me.

I don’t have alopecia, but I have thin hair and receding hair lines and for years have been so self conscious about my hair. In 2020 I finally decided to just free myself of the misery and shave my head. Best decision I ever made and have never been so happy with my hair until now. You look spectacular with and without hair!

I've been following you for many years and I LOVE to see how much better you are and the confidence you gained in yourself!!! You rock the buzz cut it opens up your face and makes you so beautiful!! As much as appearence is important nowadays remember that your hair and your style can be some kind of toy to play with and try new things until we are confortable with them. I don't have anything as bad as alopecia but i fried my hair to a gummy texture when i was like 16. I had been wanting to shave it off completely and start new even year's after. It wasn't until your first video shaving your head that gave me the final push to ignore my insecurities and go for it. It was absolutely eye opening for me and such a great decision. Its been over 2 years now since and my hair is fully grown now but I'm ready to go again 😅!

I’ve been shaving my head for most of my life (29) but never had the guts to go out in public without it covered by a bandana or wig. Honestly, I’m getting so close to stop caring and not cover it. Between seeing this video and the fact more people know about Alopecia because of the Chris rock and will smith drama has been a push for me. And it’s awesome that there is a new medication approved for treatment, maybe I will try it someday!

Hi Shannon, I just wanted to leave a comment asking how you got the strength to shave your head? I have what is more commonly known as burning scalp syndrome, and overall just have an awful relationship with my hair. At one point my hair was the only reason my mom stayed around because “I was the pretty one.” But now? My hair is falling out, my scalp is coming off in huge chunks, and I’m constantly in pain no matter what I take or how much I try and stay calm and keep it clean… and recently I’ve began to ponder the idea of shaving my hair and wearing wigs… I don’t know if you’ll ever see this, I just remember you being a huge inspiration to me when I was first diagnosed at 12 years old, I’m 19 now and I still don’t know anybody else more inspiring.
