That girl is Miyako Watanabe, affectionately known by the other band members as "The Golden Touch". She is the main song writer in the band. She started learning piano at the age of 3 and then picked up the guitar at age 18. In this video she is around 30 years old and has mastered both instruments. When their original bass player left the band in August of 2021, the band went on a one year hiatus before hiring a new bassist. During that time, Miyako began writing the songs for their new album and she wrote the bass parts too and can now play that instrument too.

the name of the guitarist/pianist is Miyako Watanabe et the other her name is Midori Tatematsu. The "classic" piece played in the outro is not from Chopin, but the finale of "The New World Symphony" by Dvorak... What a talent to go from Chopin to Dvorak and refer to Tchaikovsky (Swan Lake)...

The Chopin piece performed by Miyako (guitar/keyboard) as the intro is "Etude OP10, No12", known as "Revolution Etude" In 1831, an uprising of some officers and civilians against the Polish government under the de facto control of the Russian Empire, dubbed the "November Revolution", failed due to the direct intervention of Russian forces. Chopin is informed of this news during his travels. he lost his place to return to. When the Russian army invaded Warsaw, Chopin's agents released "Etude OP10, No.12" in Paris. People called it a "revolutionary etude" because of the agent's exaggerated promotion of the song. Miyako composed "SwanSong" with reference to this "revolutionary etude" and Dvorak's "New World Symphony". Former ballerina Asami (vocals) wrote a poem inspired by Norse mythology and "Swan Lake" based on the historical background of "Revolutionary Etude". "SwanSong" is a requiem dedicated to the warriors who fought to reclaim fatherland, a masterpiece that only LOVEBITES can complete.

Don't forget man. this is just one song out of a 2hr + concert. This frenetic pace (some songs even faster) is kept up for almost the whole show. One of my favorite songs that blends styles, is 'Epilogue' (live of course) with Asami's R&B vocals, and Miyako's 'Gary Moore' style lead guitars, blended in a brilliant ballad. Probably the best power ballad I have ever heard in all of my 64 years.

LOVEBITES - Swan Song lyrics: If this was the last day you could live on this earth Would you still go on, accusing someone for today It’s better to fail than not do anything at all It is not the length, but depth of life that counts Oh brave soldier Oh gallant warrior Valor to those who died in battle to Valhalla Believe what’s in your soul For death will come to all You shall rest peacefully in God’s Heaven Floating lotus You are so graceful Saintly and glorious Till the end of time Floating lotus You are so beautiful Sing me your sweet song The legend of the swan If you’ve never hoped, you’ve never been though despair Ignorance is bliss, it’s easier to not care You might think it’s meaningless to sacrifice a life Sometimes the life of one can save so many more Oh brave soldier Oh gallant warrior Valor to those who died in battle to Valhalla Believe what’s in your soul For death will come to all You shall rest peacefully in God’s Heaven Floating lotus You are so graceful Saintly and glorious Till the end of time Floating lotus You are so beautiful Sing me your sweet song The legend of the swan SOLO: miyako / both Floating lotus You are so graceful Saintly and glorious Till the end of time Floating lotus You are so beautiful Sing me your sweet song The legend of the swan SOLO: midori ----- lyrics: asami music: miyako arrangement: LOVEBITES (miho, haruna, midori, miyako, asami) from Electric Pentagram 2020

I've been listening to LOVEBITES for nearly three years now. I own all of their releases in one format or another, some in multiple formats, and they're easily one of my favorite groups. Japan is a hotbed of highly-skilled musicians in the hard rock and metal genres, and they seem to have a higher percentage of women playing guitar, bass, and drums than western bands.

Thank you for checking this out, and Congratulations! You just found the best new metal band to come along in decades. In their first five years of existence, they put themselves on par with the greatest bands of metal’s golden age. Other reviewers have described them as alien superheroes disguised as young women, angels, princesses of metal, and angry bridesmaids. They recently went on a year-and-a half hiatus while they searched for a new bassist. They announced the new bassist in October 2022 and dropped their first song, “Judgement Day” on December 22. Some background: They were formed in 2016 from the remnants of a legendary all-girl Japanese metal band called Destrose (yes, all-girl metal has been a thing in Japan since at least 1981). Miho (bass, chief headbanger and founder of the band) had a vision of a new band in the style of the great European bands of the golden age of metal. She recruited her former bandmate Haruna (drums, 4'9" “pocket nuclear reactor”); they needed two world-class guitarists, and so they went and found Midori and Miyako, who were with other groups. The four of them then found Asami, the singer, who was doing soul and blues at the time (she was also trained in ballet). Miyako is also a virtuoso concert pianist, and was headed for a career in classical music, before picking up the guitar. She wrote “Swan Song” . She wrote “Swan Song” using elements from several classical pieces including Chopin’s “Revolutionary Etude” (official name Étude Opus 10, No. 12 in C minor). Miyako has composed a little more than half of their music, with Miho composing a lot of their thrashier songs in collaboration with Mao, the lead composer of another band called Lightbringer. Midori has also been getting into the act, and they regularly perform a song written by Haruna as well. Asami writes most of the lyrics, and cowrote the music for “Judgement Day” with Mao. In mid-2020, Miho left the band she had founded, for personal reasons. They recently announced their new bassist, Fami, who is a young phenom and herself a composer and multi-instrumentalist. The instrumentalists studied all the great historical metal bands going back to Purple and Sabbath, through Maiden, Priest, Metallica, Helloween, Slayer etc. They have incorporated some of the best of each of those bands into their arsenal, and have created a sound that is fresh and cutting edge while paying tribute to the old masters. They toured with Dragonforce in 2019, and word from those in attendance was that next time around, it will be the ladies headlining. They do everything from soulful power ballads to heavy thrash. Almost every song includes face-melting solos by Miyako and Midori. The two guitarists are quite different in style and tone. Midori (blonde ponytail) is the extrovert and speed demon; Miyako is the introvert, with the more soulful feel (though she can also shred like crazy). Midori uses a cleaner tone, Miyako uses more distortion, pinch harmonics and pedal effects. The contrast makes their duets rich and dynamic. It doesn’t hurt that either one can smoke most of the shredders in the classic metal bands. As another reviewer said, "It seems criminal these two are allowed to be in the same band." Their first song with Fami is “Judgement Day” kzbin.info/www/bejne/o2TYeJ2mYrVqeqs Here are more clips you should check out: “Set the World on Fire” kzbin.info/www/bejne/b2rdpHtsnqySbMU from their 2021 concert DVD “Heavy Metal Never Dies”. “Don’t Bite the Dust” kzbin.info/www/bejne/pXnRfHp7n5Z2g8U, from the same concert; "Edge of the World" and "We the United", back to back: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qZ2TXohjrtB9ebc They form an incredible journey from darkness and despair to light and hope. Also, “Empty Daydream”, which starts as a ballad and becomes a real rocker: kzbin.info/www/bejne/oonLkKiDgp5noLc; “Holy War”: kzbin.info/www/bejne/mJikqaN7paqWpNE For a thrasher with heavy Slayer and Metallica vibes, “Break the Wall” kzbin.info/www/bejne/fWGVYpSGZ8aibLs includes two gorgeous and completely contrasting solos by M&M. For a heart-stopping ballad, “Epilogue” kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z6rRn4t6m6qhpLs (this includes a second song, your choice whether or not to react to both) Finally, while you will sometimes hear you should only react to live clips, actually their MV’s are epic and worth seeing. Here are four of the most spectacular: "Shadowmaker" kzbin.info/www/bejne/eKPQoJ-kaqyrq9U This is the song that blew up and melted faces all over the world "When Destinies Align" kzbin.info/www/bejne/nn2plp9_bpiJoa8 "Glory to the World" kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y6itpXdojaqLfpY "Winds of Transylvania" kzbin.info/www/bejne/fqSoZYiYlLWdnpo. You'll get lots of suggestions, just one thing: don't bother with Bloodstock footage, the sound quality is poor. Best to take suggestions with actual links. Also, you can’t go wrong with any of their official clips. Welcome to the Wolf-Pack!

I think DYSTOPIA SYMPHONY is a masterpiece that contains Miyako's feelings for classical music. The song incorporates the melody from Beethoven's famous Piano Sonata (Moonlight and Pathetique). Miyako's piano melody that can be heard several times in the song is impressive. The composition of the whole song also makes you feel the development of the symphony as the title suggests. However, the sound can be said to be a masterpiece full of "ultra-high speed" and "dynamism" reminiscent of the essence of LOVEBITES metal. DYSTOPIA SYMPHONY does not have live footage or music videos (CD sound source only). Also, because it was released late, it is a song that has few opportunities to be used on KZbin Reactor. Therefore, I think that there are many people who have never heard of it. In order to convince the talent of Miyako and LOVEBITES, I recommend DYSTOPIA SYMPHONY as a song that many people should listen to. kzbin.info/www/bejne/qYWueX6ph7Gtb9k ---------- From Nippon ※It is a sentence using Google translation. I hope I got my point across correctly.

I've watched hundreds of reaction videos of Lovebites songs, and I'd put yours easily in my top 5. I really enjoyed your comments and appreciate the fact that you understand the level of talent that was on the stage. There are a lot of very talented musicians all over the world, but I am unaware of any hard rock band active today or even historically that had collectively more musical talent that Lovebites has. Lovebites have recently got a new bassist who goes by the name Fami. She is an internet famous musician (www.youtube.com/@fami4906), and she is a more versatile bassist that the previous bassist you can see in this clip. You can see the new Lovebites (with Fami) in their recently released song "Judgement Day" kzbin.info/www/bejne/o2TYeJ2mYrVqeqs&ab_channel=LOVEBITES If you enjoyed this band (and it seems to me pretty clear that you did), then I strongly recommend you check out their back catalogue. Most of it fits into the Speed/Power metal genre, but they do have other songs, including some beautiful ballads and even a handful of Thrash Metal songs (my personal favourites). Lovebites have released about 50 original songs, and there simply isn't a bad song amongst them. I know I'm gushing, but I'm just in awe of this band and its is criminal that they are not better known around the world.

Miyako's guitar solo is based on a portion of the Revolutionary Étude that preceded the song. I think that's the only part based on that Étude. The melody of the chorus is based on a theme in Dvořák's New World symphony no. 9, 4th movement, not the piano outro as some commenters suggest. The piano outro has similarities to the Waterfall Étude, but it's in a minor key, not major.

What great analysis and sensitivity. You have analysed most of what many Reactors have not noticed. You also seem to have knowledge and understanding of classical music. Miyako (G, black hair), who composes most of LOVEBITES' music, tries to fuse metal and classical music. She also tries to fuse and innovate the metal field. LOVEBITES' music deals with a wide variety of metal. There are several other songs that Miyako composed inspired by classical music, such as the fusion of metal and classical music incorporated in the intro. "Empty Daydream" (Live in Tokyo 2019) is by Sergei Rachmaninoff (Rachmaninov) "Moments Musicaux Op.16 No4" is incorporated into the intro. The "Empty Daydream" song has the feel of Michael Jackson's "Beat It". The song was performed at the time by JENNIFER BATTEN, one of Miyako's top 5 favorite guitar heroes. One Reactor pointed out Reo Speedwagon "Back On The Road Again". There is also "Winds of Transylvania" (Live video). Beethoven Symphony No. 5, Op. 67 "Fate" is incorporated into the introduction. "The Final Collision" Live in Tokyo 2019 would like someone to analyse this. Miyako started taking piano lessons at the age of 3. At the age of 18, she discovered the electric guitar. Miyako was inquisitive and dexterous in everything she did, so she taught herself with a lesson book, and here she is today. Therefore, Miyako is original in the use of her left fingers. Miyako is good at tapping because she has been able to train the fingers of both hands on the piano. Miyako can also play the 7-string guitar because of her long fingers. Miyako can also play bass. She can play drums a little. The first guitar hero Miyako was attracted to was Brian May because of her mother, who was a fan of Queen. Miyako wanted to be involved in music in some way and make a living in a music-related field in the future. Please keep up the good work with LOVEBITES.

Everything technically perfect with the video and very correct mix of audio and last but not least, very accurate comments. I rarely stop to comment on the good in reaction channels, I'm usually the one to comment when something is seriously wrong only, but this was so good it couldn't be passed up. Great job.

Even though this is a "Miyako" song where she really stands out, Midori, the other guitarist, is equally mind-blowing with her skills. You will see what I mean when you do more of their songs. Midori and Miyako form one of the greatest guitar duos in the history of heavy metal. Right up there with Tipton and Downing.

Something else you commented on that I greatly appreciate is the challenge of including 'support tracks' LIVE at such tempo & demand for precision. Although I am inclined to want the least possible, so as to hear the raw instruments being played LIVE, they are not 'making it easier' by any means. There is 1 song where Miyako plays a duet with Midori, Midori on guitar & Miyako on keys (right hand) while Miyako also 'hammering' the chords on her guitar simultaneously (!) What a great reaction! I really hope you check out some more Lovebites. This one is a straight up masterpiece. I don't even know what else to say, except that this fully explains how, once I heard this (and other songs by them), they became my favorite band of all time. I tried to get a ticket for their show in Tokyo in March, and I was prepared to fly over to Japan to see them if I could land I ticket (I didn't). No other band has ever motivated me to go to such a length to see them live, but it is a full-on life goal. The minute they announce a regular show date in Japan, I'm getting a ticket for that and going to see them. The talent level on stage is unreal. If you check out more of them (I hope you do - I'm subscribed, and I'll watch it all) you'll find that this is the norm for them, not the exception. It's a true wonder. I'm not even sure where to steer you. All of their stuff is good. They lean heavily into power and thrash metal, but have some wonderful piano-included almost ballad-like pieces like this, as well as some that are sort of more rock. Then, if you want to get your face melted with blistering guitar solos and harmonies, and headbanging riffs, well, they have you covered there too. Holy War (live at Zepp) is a reaction standard, because it sort of has a bit of everything. If you want another one like this I'll recommend Edge of the World and Frozen Serenade, both live. If you want in your face, relentless riffs and energy, a favorite is Thunder Vengeance, live from Zepp - the show opener. If you want solo heaven, you should check out Set the World on Fire and Break the Wall. Finally, a not often reacted to favorite of mine is Empty Daydream, which is one of the greatest 80s rock songs never to be released in the 80s. They are so amazing.

You sir just experienced one of the best Live bands ever! Great reaction and analysis and thank you for appreciating the music with not one comment about how they look or what they wear. Miyako blends her classical piano training into many of LB's songs. This metal band is unique, the singer is a ballet trained R & B, Jazz and Soul singer who never sang metal till she joined the band ( also sings in English). Little 4' 9" Haruna on drums is a beast like this for an entire set and encore session. Live this band is the personification of perfection. They have 50+ songs since 2017 and not one a filler. While a metal band as you just experienced they defy that label and are so much more.

Miyako played on a white Roland electronic piano for the first time in this live. She said that she had a hard time because it was very difficult to play. It was not a satisfactory performance for her. (It sounds great to me😅) In my most recent live performance, I switched to a real grand piano, and this performance is still much better. It expresses the ups and downs of emotions more and has a different dimension from an electronic piano. You can see a little bit of it in the official trailer video of the live DVD, so check it out.

Since they play almost every genre it can be difficult to suggest the best songs to introduce LOVEBITES. Your's was a perfect no brainer🤘 SWAN SONG is go to for music teacher, coaches etc. I might be wrong, but i think I picked up on a " slight" giddiness to your breakdown.. Dgg'n yer jam. I also failed to mention ; OMO but MIDORI (stage right) is one of thee most technical guitarist on the planet. She is a straight up meat eating SAVAGE. also IMO.. THE complexity of metal composition/arrangements are a slight second to old school classical music. If I'm wrong, please let me know. I'm still learning. MUCH ✌️❤️🙏

Very nice reaction, always good to see music professionals acknowledge the prodigiously talented Miyako. I think I've learnt a new term, the "set player" must be our beloved drummer Haruna, lol. 😅 Another Lovebites track you might enjoy is Empty Daydream, also mixing genres, with Miyako opening with a Rachmaninov piece this time on the keys, and then demonstrating more of her many talents, doing harmonising backing vocals as well as guitar. Link follows. Cheers from Sydney, Subscribed. kzbin.info/www/bejne/oonLkKiDgp5noLc

Yeah you will hear lots of different terms referencing the drums...set, kit, etc. I usually waiver between set (rock, pop, metal, etc) and kit (jazz, funk, fusion, etc). You can usually tell a musicians background based on what they say actually.

A lot of the commenters have already suggested some of my favorite masterpeices like "A Frozen Serenade", "Edge of the World", etc... and I wholly concur they need to be reacted to. Having said that, I would like to nominate another, in fact, my all-time favorite Lovebites song - "Dystopia Symphony". This song is composed and arranged by our genius, Miyako, and it is a tribute to Beethoven. Here, experience how she has seamlessly integrated the maestro into this beautiful track. Unfortunately this song does not have a MV nor a video of a live performance (not performed live as yet) and there is only audio, but certainly worth checking out

Thanks for reacting to amazing Lovebites and spreading the word because they deserve more recognition. They are exceptional talented, versatile and skillful musicians and they really shine in their live performances. I like when knowledgeable people react to their videos because they really appreciate them. My next suggestions are “Edge of the world”, “Empty daydream” or “Epilogue”. If you want heavier stuff, then I recommend “Thunder vengeance”, “Breaking the wall”, “The awakening/Hammer of wrath”, “Shadowmaker”, “Wind of Transylvania”, “When destinies align”, “Above the Black Sea”. All live, although the MVs of “Winds…”, “Shadowmaker” and “When…” are great. BTW, the choir in this song is also a backing track.

Very good reaction, one of the best on this song. And what makes it so good, besides your deep overall musical knowledge,is the fact that you're the ONLY reactor so far who talked with awe about Miho, the bassist. She's no longer in the band,a 20yo bass master, Fami, replaced her. And though i can't express my happiness enough for Fami being with the band,on the other hand i can't express my frustration enough on the fact that people behave like Miho was a burden to the band. None of these bassist is better than the other, they are just DIFFERENT by CHOICE. Miho liked to stay away from the lights, she created this band having in mind the old time classic metal bands in which the bass wasn't prominent and was low in the mix but still there .What she does is keep, along with the drums, the other membres together, like a glue. When Miyako goes back to the piano and Midori starts soloing, who's keeping the engine running?Your reference on her playing in this song made me tear up. Thank you kind sir, thank you, thank you, thank you. I'd recommend "Judgement Day",from their knew album to be released. There you can hear Fami playing and i'm warning you, there's a high risk of your headphones catching fire, a fire extinguisher near by is a must. But you can't miss with any song of theirs anyway.Sorry if some sentences don't make sense, English isn't my first language.Subscribed.

This was a bit of a Miyako showpiece but Midori the other guitar player is her equal on guitar but more a shredding style. Want to see ungodly dual guitar playing by them "Signs of Deliverance" is one of the greatest dual guitar performances ever. Good you saw how behind the other stuff Haruna, the drummer, is absolutely playing amazing stuff. I put her in my top drummers of all time, a cross between Neil Peart and Keith Moon. Miho the former bass player cut her teeth on heavy metal and Iron Maiden so right hand endurance is no problem for her.

Miyako is a true Renaissance woman. She's a wife and mother, a composer, player & teacher of music, she's a zoo keeper, she has 4 pets & lately she been posting photos of her catch while on various fishing excursion. Miyako is a great subject for the camera, even when she looks grumpy ! There's a calm, simple elegance in most things she does while being driven to excel. Dear Sir, You have been introduced to what is the best heavy metal band (including all its sub-genres) in the world today. There is nothing like it. It's unique. Perfect. Stellar. I can be considered a "veteran" on this "road" of heavy metal and I categorically state: Lovebites is worthy of being among the giants/legends of heavy music (and here I remember the great bands in the 80's). It's the best band to come out in the last 20 years (if not more!)! I follow the band since its appearance, I have all the albums and Blu-Rays. Your presentations are perfect. Nothing else to add.

Just great review. Instantly subscribed. Your analysis and explanations are so informative. I'm glad you were aware of great work of the bassist Miho. Since she is so stoic and modest, she is under rated but she really is a great bassist. Regretfully she left the band in Aug. of 2021. Lovebites gone in a hiatus then, but they weren't sleeping. They were sharpening their fangs and raised their hunger. They found a new bassist after a long audition and released a new piece with the new bassist last Christmas for a present to the world. It's a insanely good performance after a one and half year hiatus. It's a MV Judgement Day kzbin.info/www/bejne/o2TYeJ2mYrVqeqs with no piano but another level of metal. These folks here the fan base called Wolfpack because the five wolves are Lovebites' symbol, and they already told you about the guitarist/pianist Miyako background. I leave a little supplement here. Miyako loves romantic era classic music and her favorite composer is Rachmaninov.

The drummer, Haruna, hardly gets a mention, but she makes all this possible, her pedal work is phenominal, she must have 12 feet, and here non stop speed is crazy. I love all these ladies, and on top of their fantastic playing they are all so beautiful (jealousy creeping in...lol!) and as a young women myself 23, i often wish I could be like them. Music, Miyako - Guitar, Piano; Lyrics by Asami, vocals. Miyako write about half of the music with arrangements. All members of the band write songs usually with Mao. Miyako began piano at 3 yo, not unusual in Japan. At 18 she decided she wanted to play Metal Music. Got herself a guitar and a "How To" book and taught herself!!! Midori, guitar, dropped out of Pharmacy school and picked up the guitar at 20 yo. Asami trained in ballet in her early years, but became a singer. She was selected by the bassist Miho (band founder) both for her vocals and that she could sing in English. On drums, Haruna began drums in High School, considered one of Japan's best drummers. Question - As a teacher could you deal with someone as talented as Miyako? Never smiles on stage but she has a beautiful smile.
