@@bakercarl8518 I didn't know that, I knew that he married the wife and I knew one of the brothers married the daughter and they made music together but didn't find out about Bobby's situation with the daughter until about 2 years ago. He still made some good music. Mary Wells was married to 2 of the Womack brothers and she had children by both, people are only human and they make mistakes and we have to forgive. My favorite of Bobby Womack is “Across 110th Street” (1973), the theme from the movie of the same name. Great tune. I first heard that song during my first watch of the movie. In 2010, Bobby Womack and Mos Def were featuring on the Gorillaz song, “Stylo” from the Plastic Beach album. Fantastic video for “Stylo”, too. 💜

That’s absolutely correct. Bobby Womack was talking about Sam and Sam’s wife in that song. Matter of fact, Sam was murdered. Bobby did say in his song ‘I hoped that he(Sam) never come home.’ Bobby came to Sam’s funeral with Sam’s wife. He was wearing Sam’s suit and driving Sam’s car. Bobby married Sam’s wife two months after the funeral.

Bobby and his brothers had a group in the 50's or early 60's called The Valintinos and they made a song called I'm looking for a love check it out. He later became Sam Cooke's guitarist. I don't know how many songs he had with his brothers that's the only one l'm familiar with.

It’s known that the song was about Sam Cooke and him getting with Sam’s widow.. but fun fact, Bobby Womack pulled up on Sam’s older brother, Dale Cooke, so that he could try fixing the situation. He knew Dale wanted to beat his ass, and once he saw Dale, he told him to do what he needed to do.. which led to Dale knocking him out

The Rolling Stones first gold record was written by Bobby Womack “It’s all over now”. It was going up the charts for Bobby and his band “The Valentinos”. Sam Cooke convinced Bobby to let the Stones record it. They got the gold record and Bobby got the royalties. Bobby sang it on the Letterman show with its “World’s Most Dangerous Band”.
