The problem is you could be lying too about most things being a lie. You just have to be yourself and go with the flow of what you believe in. Its up to you to believe. I get what you mean though, yet I also probably disagree with you on what some things are lies and agree on others. But I won't get into politics right now. The meaning I am getting from you I tend to think you are right because I get the gist of what you are referring to. And the gist I am getting at is I do believe the Holocaust isn't a lie or Covid. If you get my drift, your talking about lies that have divided people which yes, that has happened plenty. But some stuff thats talked about having happened between races,religions and countries have not been lies, but we should not let that divide us but rather learn from it and bring us closer. I just feel that statement is over simplified in my opinion. The lies exist but people have decided to let things divide us more than they should be it truth or lie. Even the truth shouldn't lead to as much division as it seems to have happened.

It breaks my heart to see what has happened to the unity in our country because of politics. I'm 51. I grew up in the 70s and 80s in a suburb of San Diego, and YES, we all got along so well! Hanging out with people of all races and backgrounds was normal, and we liked each other. The music was awesome and we all had a great time. The media and politicians have done a heck of a job trying to divide us, which is why I love to watch music reactions, because the reactors and viewers are overwhelmingly positive. Soul Train had everyone of every ethnicity dancing together having a good time. In many cases, nobody knew what color the band was, nor did anyone care. If you had funk or soul as a band... you just had it.

Live disco performances all look sooo amazing. There's like 10-15 people on stage, playing their instruments, singing, dancing, all wearing bright clothes/sequins/rhinestones, and looking like they're having a party or something. I can't even begin to imagine what it was like backstage and/or at the afterparty.

Correct. 2 things I watched every week. Soul Train and American Bandstand. Every day there was a dance show on Detroit Public Television called "The Scene" It was a club dance show. WGPR. You can see some on YT.. Cheers my family.

If the flashlight in my house is not used for a good reason, I don't care to see it. My crazy uncle came to my mothers house acting like he was George Clinton with the flashlight (pulling the curtain close, and mommy was at work) well she came home early and it was over. 🤣🤣Everyone got in trouble acting like they were at a Parliament concert (house full of his friends, my brothers and cousins as everyone had a flashligh). Everybody got in trouble except me. We may have had fun but nothing is like my mother being piss off. You're not alone. Lots of people thought he was too. Even though he found the black funk, he still had cosigners all around him. Believe me, it gave him a good foot in the black community door...hence him being on Soul Train. He was definitely a real one though. You can tell he truly felt the funk. The 70's was definitely influenced by the Funk. People were getting high, having crazy sex cuz of the birth control revolution and learning to love their afros...be it a black, white, Asian, Jewish and Latino afro...people were learning how to get down together in the name of funk. Disco and Rock n Roll of that era had some influences from funk too. Lots of creative times back then. Of course I know things in retrospect. I was a kid back then, but the music has been a staple in our evolution into a mindset of "One nation under the Groove" as they used to say.

I'm a child of the 60 grew up on the music of the 60s 70s and 80s In my opinion Sly Stone was just a teeny teeny little bit ahead of his time ! His music more like came out almost towards the end of the '60s going into the 70's And that's when the music and the music industry itself started shifting ! I too was 'shocked' some 18 years ago when I was watching a TV music show in the UK and saw KC was white! Shocked like you two. The band wasn't formed on racial lines but guys coming together to perform. I've notice KC looks annoyed when interviewers have even suggested the band was formed to bring races together. No it was formed because of a shared love of music.

I still remember when I first saw The Phoenix Horns (of Earth Wind and Fire) play live with Phil Collins on one of Phil's solo tours I was absolutely blown away by the amazing sound they created live in concert. Story time. December 1976, I was 4 years old and growing up in Tampa Florida. My parents who were 20 and 21 when I was born took me to see KC and the Sunshine Band at Disney World. My mom was pregnant with my sister. I tell that story every time someone reacts to KC! One of my favs to this day

A lot of these videos were filmed for the show Soul Train... It was a weekly show that featured the top ten artists every week.. It started as a black show, but yes, everyone watched it... Every color.. Not only could you hear and see the bands, you hit to see all the latest dance moves lol.. A definite favorite among younger people of the day... One of my favs back then ❤ 💙 💜 💖

Anybody who went to a true 70s party back then never remembered anything from said party. You had to piece together the clues from the stains on your clothing, which, half the time, wasn't the clothing you swore you went out with. This quickly led us to invent selfies using a Polaroid camera.

The drummer..his name was porky..an amazing talent and friend..I miss his energy and humor..He ended up in nw Arkansas playing drums for The Cate Brothers I think only a handful of people knew he was KCs drummer. He did not want folks to make a fuss..he told me it was a chaotic mess to travel with that many entertainers. Great reaction..and damn girl your hair looks amazing!

K.C. was originally from Baltimore, Md. He know lives in Carey, NC and still performs also produces music.
