I'd also like to add some info for those who are on a BUDGET but would like to wake up your 2jz. You can boost it and not touch the ECU. This is achieved by getting a turbo kit and intercooler kit. Drill and tap the oil feed return line on the oil pan. And running a LOW 5 psi spring in your wastegate. It will run perfectly no issues just make sure you DO NOT go over 6 psi or else you will lean out and fuck up your engine! The ECU does not know what to do with boost past 6PSI so please keep this in mind when doing this! Remember this is for people who want to boost and wake up the 2jz and also do it on a budget! It will serve you well for a long time until you are ready to Upgrade the ECU and headgasket and rods once you get your money up. If you have any questions comment and I'll answer as best I can. Happy boosting!

@RabidJz4 жыл бұрын
Mine is a 240, not a gs300. So in that case, you're saving even more money. The difference is, you're paying 3k for the engine just to pay 1k-2k swapping the manifold and adding a big turbo. A stock gte will have no issues making the power I make, but neither would a stock non vvti ge. This video was the cheapest way to get to the goal. When you swap the block, you keep the head, INCLUDING, your harness. It remains pnp. All that extra money you'd spend on the gte you can spend on mods. 500 for a junkyard bottom 1-2k for turbo/mani setup 600 for injectors Right there's is the cost of just a gte.

@@RabidJz is there a way to disassemble the engine block from valve cover down? So that I can take it from the junkyard, its $80, I only ask because I am planning to do this in a day or two. can never start too soon for an engine swap.
@RabidJz3 жыл бұрын
Non vvti rods are same as gte rods. Crank is the same accross all 2jz. The pistons are different, but still good
@mahtogje4 жыл бұрын
You dont have to add a cam sensor. They sell a cap block off for the dizzy a run a gte ecu. Or a dizzy plug and crank sensor relocation kit

Running a gte ecu on a ge is the wrong way to do it
@72Dexter72Manley723 ай бұрын
I did this on an n/a 2J. It's in my 74 260Z. I bolted a trigger wheel to my balancer. I used a 1jz balancer. Made a bracket and have a crank sensor mounted to it. Mega squirt 2 ECU. I removed a threaded block on the left side of the block and threaded a fitting in it for my oil feed line. Used the stock JZ fuel rail. Cut off the pressure regulator and mounted an aftermarket one on the fender. Ford ranger ignitor. Dodge caravan coil pack.

Do i need a cam sensor
@RabidJz3 жыл бұрын
You can use your distributor as the sensor. Or not. A cam sensor gives a more accurate and reliable. Crank/cam combo is the best

Ok so the only thing I can tell he was wrong about. You do not need a return style fuel system to boost a car, you will create so much more work for yourself, I've seen guys running 600 hp off of the stock fuel rails what you will need is larger injectors to accommodate additional pressure. Now if you're aiming for 1000 hp yes you'll need a return fuel system setup. Also his swap is based around a standalone keep that in mind
@RabidJz4 жыл бұрын
I suggest a return line for a proper fuel system. Fuel is the bloodline of your engine. Just because there's ways to do it with the stock rail doesn't mean you should. There's a reason gtes have return lines.

@@RabidJz I'm not disagreeing with you but not a lot of built is300s bother with a fuel system change because they hardly ever have problems
