Hey Shawn...just want to congratulate you on your continuing excellence in teaching golf swing dynamics..I notice that other you tube teachers have finally figured out that you can't fight physics..in particular a Korean scientist who is teaching the same fundamentals you have been teaching for over ten years now..Keep flying the flag because you my friend are the real deal and should be way more recognised for the important work you do in this great game..

Good clarification not only on releasing into the picture but also the thought of putting the ball in the way of the club. One thing I have to note is that it still takes time and practice to perfect any swing change/adjustment and you have to be willing to commit to it and the instruction. I started hitting balls again last week after 3-weeks of watching these videos and just swing clubs and the first day was not great but I stuck with it and everything smoothed out nicely. I used to be quick to go back to my old ways when something didn't work right away but that has changed.

Right on Robin! The science behind motor skill learning is quite extensive and I would recommend you check out our “premium channel at www.wisdomingolfpremium.com (only $9.95 per month) and see all “pre-motor cortex series” and “flow state series” as a huge confirmation to what you are doing.

Update. Played a round on Saturday and finding an object or using a divot as an intermediate point was a huge help, didn't always get it right, but kept doing it, then signed up for the premium channel and I'm watching the series "pre-motor cortex", that you recommend, realized some positive and negative thoughts and things I did during my round. I like the dual camera angles in the premium channel and the multitude of videos and information, don't know why I waited so long to do it.

Throwing the club into my picture with heavy momentum. Right on Savy ! That is probably no no no ! That is definitely the most important piece of advice in the golf instruction ever. I honestly can not think of anything more important or beneficial to improve a golfswing. Everything else is a foundation and a series of sequential moves to achieve that " task ". I would add this. Throw the club into my picture with heavy momentum using the lower body. A good lower body pivot is crucial. By using the lower body in a more advantageous manner will allow one too more easily deliver into a picture and thru a block wall with some massive heft. Speaking of pivots yinz have some very good ones. Is that a coincidence or is that something yinz have focused and worked on ? Let's face it most amateurs have a poor lower body pivot or no pivot at all. Could the lack of understanding on how the pelvis works be the cause ? I dunno. Thanks for another great video

Hi Shawn. I have been using your "favourite drill" very effectively in practice to throw the club or even hit shots and I get beautiful lag, contact and release. I am able to use the legs/ground forces to use the heft. However when I try the same thing for a normal swing there are some hits some misses. Mostly slightly thin shots. I have been wondering where the difference is. Also should one be aware(before the swing) that one has to use the ground forces to throw.
@golflessons
@golflessons 2 жыл бұрын
hi Mohanjit! Stay with the throw at all costs and keep feeling the use of the legs AFTER THE FACT. Continue to use the prediction process and make sure you use all your senses in that process: feel of turf when you throw, sound of the friction or the deflection with the ground etc! Review the “pre-motor cortex” videos on premium to get the mind around all that before you execute the shot! 👍😀

Hey Shawn. Once again love your enthusiasm and wisdom! Will definately pay the little extra for more premium vids when I finally land a steady job after big covid lockdowns in Aus. Your swing mechanics look to me like by far the easiest way to generate big consistent speed while being accurate. Still don't have the right environment to start throwing clubs and don't want to look like an idiot while warming up before comp play at my course lol. But I was wondering if this throwing the club feeling is like one of Ben Hogan's swing thought/drills I've been working on the feeling of skipping a stone along the surface of a lake when hitting through the ball? When doing this my distance with irons has gone up massively gone from hitting a 6i 175 to 200yd on decent stikes, but i find the trajectory too low at the moment.
@golflessons
@golflessons 2 жыл бұрын
yes, the sole of the club is like the underneath part of the stone skipping on water; you want a nice whipping skip into the direction you want the ball to start and simply choose what height you wish to skip it into! 2 tree lines high? 4 tree lines high? just choose!

@@golflessons Your material is superb. Thank you for all of the amazing videos. I've learned a lot and my game continues to improve. Hi Shawn, Thanks for all your videos. I have been watching since you started on You Tube. Remember, way back before you lost the weight , went to a couple of seminars, read some books and on the kinetic chain, and changed your teaching? My problem with throwing the club, is that I tend to do it with arms only and it turns out crappy. If I can throw it using my body (which is not coming naturally) sometimes it bloody perfect but sometimes I throw throw across myself to the left.

You need to be in a situation that feels safe and keep your focus on where you want to throw it to and not think about how you want to throw it.

The text books are a changin’ my friend! Swings like Kenny Peery and Bubba Watson and mine are no longer outliers. Anatomically, they are the soundest swings out there as they provide superior power without the effort and tons of accuracy. Bubba was #1 in greens in Reg for several years! I have 1000 videos out here on all subjects and I suggest you get cracking as this is worth your time if you love this game!
