You see Rory drive a golf ball 350 yards with 119 club head speed and think he’s actually carrying it 350 lol? It’s total distance, the average tour pro carry yardage is 285-290 and the average LPGA carry yardage is 260. Depending on your course conditions roll out will vary, but the quad is just as accurate as Trackman and nobody questions those numbers when there on a monitor. The most important takeaways are she is hitting it longer than most LPGA pros with higher launch and much lower spin which will equate to more distance overall, any improvement is a large improvement. Keep swinging the club Sav looks great!!
@golflessons2 жыл бұрын
Hey Devon! Savy has been to 3 Professional Long Drive competitions and in all 3 has official registered drives between 285 and 310 and has made top 8 in all 3. And 2018 carry numbers on LPGA from Trackman directly is 219 yards

That’s impressive. I noticed that she has an extremely strong grip with both hands. I wander how dose that work when you play on golf course that requires controlled ball flights, fades and higher spin rates to keep that ball in play. Especially with irons , you need more spin and to hold greens you need to play fades . If you can play fades with that strong grip , pls make a video for us . When it comes to hitting long drives with that very strong grip works for most people but not for controlling iron shots. At least in my experience. In the monitor 1700 spin, 7deg up, pull hook it will give you good distance. She has great power ,

+7 degree lauch angel is extreme, most of the pga pros are around 2 to 4 positive attack angel. And most have spinrates in the at least the 2000's. The launch and spin rate is probably optimal for distance but it's probably not the best way to hit consistent drives from the tee. However it's really cool to see how she is optimising her distance.

I regularly activate close to 110 (a notch below) on that device, but don't know its actual speed. In this video, "feel the click" was the performance cue. Is the difference really due to kinetic chain not (yet!) transferring from the Swing Caddie to actual swing? Not sure where else to look (am on Premium).
@golflessons2 жыл бұрын
hey Donald! You can leave a comment anytime on premium on any of the videos for questions as I don’t always get to these; so your trackman is saying 80 MPH? If this is the case, and you are clicking the swing caddy at 110, then the swing caddy has an issue. Savy has to swing just perfectly to get 110 click; her swing speed is between 100 and 105 on the GC Quad…

Tell Sav that she took the last one back more with her body motion. Dr. Kwon emphasizes this. Based on research, the more that you can take the club back fast (as fast as the body motion will allow) in synch with the body (he recommends using the body to drive the club back), the more usable (accurate and channeled) speed that you can produce. Also, in that regard she might want to try a little forward pre-swing like she was doing with the device to help her get some synchronized inertia starting back and train herself to create that with her normal swing. In any case, extremely impressive output for someone of her size considering that Maria Fassi who is noted for her speed and who also is very solid and muscular came onto the LPGA with 107 mph club head speed.

All manufacturers use the sales pitch of high launch low spin for good reason. That reason being is that they must appeal to the masses. The masses do not produce the club head speed that pga tour pros have . The factors involved here are club head speed, angle of attack and nailing the sweet spot everything else is merely a result. Spin rate , carry , ball speed and smash factors are all results and not causes. Savy must hit up 7° and have low spin in order achieve these distances. If Rory consistently hit up 7° on his drives he would have never made it onto the pga tour . He has a much higher club head speed and needs that lower launch angle. I think alot of confusion comes from the distinction between carry distance and run out. The gc quad if setup properly is very accurate. Club fitters , coaches and pga tour pros all use GC quads for this very reason. Savy has worked very hard on her golfswing and conditioning and that should be respected. I am also a small person myself and have worked very hard on my swing so I know the feeling. Stay focused, stay strong and remember you have nothing to prove to anyone but yourself. Thank yinz
