First Ellie singing one of Shawn's songs, then Shawn singing the song that Ellie was writing in her diary This song is too painful to hear cause it makes your deepest feelings bloom, the regret of loosing someone you admire but you didn't appreciate the time you had with him or her, and it makes you wish you could established stronger bonds with those who left By the time The Last Of Us part one came out I've lost my grandfather, and the relationship between Ellie and Joel before arriving to the hospital was how I felt with him when I was a kid, but eventually when I got older I was distant with him When he passed away I didn't go to see his grave because I couldn't believe that he just died, now I have a reason to visit him, I want to play this song on a faithful afternoon sitting next to him and bury all my feelings I have of him there Shawn, your songs are incredible, keep doing this stuff, I love it

That is I think the biggest lesson the Last of Us part 1 and 2 taught us... appreciate the time we have with our loved ones.... I lost my grandmother recently with whom I was very close... she was like a second mother to me until I left Greece for USA and I saw her just last summer in 3 years until she left... I just feel grateful that I was not like Ellie and I told her all that I wanted to say... but still it feels not enough..."you do not know the value of what you have until you lose it" .. that is what happened to Ellie... 2 years without speaking to him and then he was gone... pride got the best of her... sure it was Joel's mistake too for not clearing things up from the beginning but... this game is so sad but a masterpiece ..best story ever.

I loved the music in the original TLOU. However, the music in the TLOU2 just wasn’t there for me; it never captivated me at all, neither did any of the characters (apart from Ellie and Joel). Great game but definitely not TLOU in any way, shape or form. The original TLOU was solely focused on the beautiful relationship between Ellie and Joel and, it put TLOU on the map for sure. Obviously, the relationship between Joel and Ellie was shattered in TLOU2. I thought it was a great game but, I felt totally disconnected, emotionally - the polar opposite to the original.

@@DaKewlDood I disagree, this game completed the story of Ellie and Joel's relationship for me. It answers some of the lingering questions after the end of the first game such as what was going on in Ellie's mind when Joel lied to her and what would happen to their relationship if she found out the truth. The last flashback at the end of Part II completely had me in tears and I realized their love for each other couldn't be undone. I also think they did an incredible job with Abby's story and telling the other side's story as well. I like part 2 more than the original and like its soundtrack more but for me these two games are inseparable they complete each other.

Magnificent song. This song should be included as part of game credits in some form of patch or update. I personally loved the game, but it never quite managed to bring me to tears like first part did in first 10 minutes of gameplay. I haven't been able to play anything else since I finished it last week. Tried to go for a second playthrough as soon as I finished it, but once I reached TV station in Seattle I was done. Got myself stuck in pause menu, thinking about closing scene, and closure which I've expected but never actually got. I was fortunate enough to keep myself away from social media so I was unaware of this song until this morning. This was that final drop that I was chasing for days now. It broke me as soon as man finished singing first sentence. Cried my eyes out few times now. 5 minute long song gave me relief that I was looking for 30 hours of gameplay and several tormenting, depressed post-game days. I thank you for that good sir.

"there's a noose 'round my neck and the further I get, it's harder and harder to breathe" there's a noose 'round my neck: ellie's out for revenge and the "noose" is the bridge between ellie's inner conflict. the noose hasn't fully tightened (ellie's chance to quit something she'll regret) but it keeps tugging (ellie's chance to get satisfaction in killing abby). the further I get, it's harder and harder to breathe: the noose has hit its threshold and it's strangling her throat (ellie's made her choice which might not be the right one and deep down, she knows that but it's the choice she's made regardless) and the noose has her life, it's making it harder to breathe (ellie's in too deep now, her judgement is clouded and she knows there's no redemption for her). man...never did I think a song lyric would make me feel so much for a character but here we are. say what you will about part two but naughty dog knew exactly what they wanted to do with ellie and they nailed it!

I love songs like this one. It struck me so hard this year. It's so powerful so forceful. There is so much anger, sorrow and despair on it, even though Shawn isn't screaming or shouting the lyrics at you. I can feel every single bit of Ellie's sadness through this song and this is remarkable by itself. This is a masterpiece. The best song I heard in 2020.

People need to understand at the ending is not meant to be a cookie cutter happy everyone wins. Life in general doesn’t work like that, let alone a post apocalyptic world. Ellie spared Abby for all the reasons in this song. She realized she wanted to forgive Joel so why not Abby? Ellie knows why Abby did what she did, her vengeance was not because of what Abby did to Joel but because she herself could not moved on and as the two very broken women traded blows on the beach, she realized that she could let go

Preach👌🏻 I truly cannot comprehend how people could expect a happy end. Ellie had the chance, but guilt and lingering anger drove her to throw it all away for the chance of redemption. It's actually quite typical to many stories, and as painful as it was, it suited their story. I think the creators did a splendid job and I'm glad it was supported by music that expressed the depths of turmoil Ellie harbored. Of course it wasn't just her, but obviously she was the focus.

But she had a choice and chose to pursue a personal vendetta because she was haunted - Abby was the same way and she would have definitely killed Dina if not for Lev and the opportunity to "find the light." Either way, it'll stick with her. Regret for both sides - staying and leaving, hating and forgiving, killing and protecting, etc. I get your point but for the sake of the story and the struggle endured, simplifying her actions like that just doesn't stick well. Limit yourself and you'll become ignorant of the possibilities.

This guy gets it, The Last of Us Part 2, I guess it's a case of you either love it, or you didn't understand the message behind it. All throughout the game, I felt the exact same way as Ellie, all the way up to the very ending, I WANTED so bad to kill Abby, but when Ellie has the last vision of Joel, and he's on the porch, with his guitar, it sunk in for both me and Ellie, that revenge, hatred and anger are terrible feelings, and they take everything away from you, so the best way to deal with it, is through forgiveness. Me personally, I hate Abby, I still do, but in order to break the cycle of violence, I really do hope that she and Lev find a happy ending after all this (and I hope that for Ellie too, just because I love her character that much 🤷🏻‍♂️). This game is a brilliant work of fiction, the best I ever consumed, and it is really a case of you either love it, or you didn't get it.

@@johnpapalouizos1946 I mean, the WLF and Scars were bloodthirsty factions who would kill Ellie on sight so there is not much of a moral conundrum there. Abby on the other hand proved that she didn't want to be a part of WLF and chose to help Yara and Lev instead knowing it would put her against her own faction. At the very end Ellie saw her relationship with Joel in the way Abby was taking care of Lev and ultimately was able to see the human side of Abby and spared her life just like how Abby spared Ellie's life twice. Starting from Yara and Lev saving Abby from hanging, we saw a chain reaction of one good selfless act causing another. Similarly Ellie wouldn't be there in the end to save Abby and Lev from dying on those stakes if Abby didn't spare her life previously.
