Gives me a lump in my throat, I love this song and love the way Bobby sings it. I wonder how happy Bobby would be knowing we're still loving his music after all these years. He's one of my absolute favorite singers of all time. This is so beautiful, thank you for finding it and posting it. Each day is Valentine's Day.

I wonder more how Lorenz Hart would feel. How many have sung those words? Each putting their own stamp on them, as Darin does here, but it's still Larry Hart behind every version--asking himself what it would feel like if somebody loved him that way--not for anything but who he was, down inside. And far as we know, he never found it. How many ever do? Did Bobby Darin? I get the distinct feeing he's asking himself that question as he sings. That's how you're supposed to sing it. He probably thought his looks were kind of laughable. The best way to sing this song is to put yourself in the songwriter's place--and present it not as a confident love song, but a pleading one. Somebody--please--love me. Just for me. For who I really am. Whatever that is.

Losing this young man at such an early age was a damn shame. Like Gershwin, Caruso, and other masters before him who died too young, Darin was a genius. He was the complete entertainer. Only in his 30's he would have given the world so much more joy. Thanks to the Tube, we can see him at will. And what a pleasure it is. RIP Bobby!

What a total genius Bobby Darin is. We are the richer for having him grace our lives through the 50's, 60's & early 70's. A very short lived life but a memorable one with Bobby leaving us a rich legacy of work for us all to enjoy. Yes, I agree one very class act by such a brilliantly talented man. Such a joy to listen to always.

I believe Darin was the most versatile entertainer of the 20th century. What he accomplished in his brief 37 years is nothing short of Legendary. Singer (rock, jazz, blues, R&B, pop standards, big band, swing, country western, folk, funk, soul/gospel) musician, performer, actor, impressionist, songwriter, producer, arranger, entrepreneur, variety tv show host, activist. The man truly did it all, and he did it all so well. One of a kind, Bobby.

Daren does a beautiful take on this! Written by Rogers and Hart originally for the 1937 musical Babes in arms. Later used in the 1957 movie musical Pal Joey starring Frank Sinatra.

Bobby Darin was just the best - He could do it all, and did! Was this from Dinah Shore's television show? I know that she was one of the very few television stars (at this time) who was graced with the added prestige of having her show filmed "in living color" on NBC.
