I'm only 5ft2 100lbs and before I was disabled by ms I'd have this issue 😂 I could do ridiculously high weights on my legs but couldn't lift them because my arms had issues 😂 and worst of all... it wasn't cool to have a fat ass and thicc thighs back in the 2000's 🤦♀️🤷♀️🤣

There's 2 plates that are slightly larger than the others in my gym. I put them on first, which makes it easy to get any in front off.

same, my gym has bumper plates and regular plates, and the regular 45's are a bit smaller so you can just put a bumper 45 on and the rest as the regular plates, makes racking and unracking relatively easy. Though the deadlift platforms are a bit uneven so the plates get caught alot.

That's a good tip, although on observing the plates she was using - they were not circular in shape. They looked tetradecagon polygons to heave over a small plate.

Reminds me of when I lifted. I could not put the plates on the squat machine because my arms were too weak. I did lift upper body but there was a significant difference in strength. This is actually that made me eventually quit it was too frustrating.

The problem isn't the weight. The problem is that she's using hexagonal weights which adds another degree of difficulty. If these were circular weights there wouldn't be a problem.

I do this, bur have 1 tip thats even easier. If your gym has both rubber/round and iron/edged plates, put a round plate on first and use edged plates afterwards. The round plates have a slightly larger and constant diameter, allowing you to slide all edged plates on and off with ease.

This was me doing leg presses back when I was young. Couldn’t carry them over (arms wouldn’t let me) but I could press 300 pounds easily. The beef of a man watching me shook his head and walked away. (He carried them for me). The coach in there looked at me and was like “was that easy?!” “Yeah pretty much” I had a hard labor job that required a ton of lifting and moving heavy parts 🤷🏼♀️

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 During my freshman year of college I took a shop class. We had to use the table shear to cut some sheet metal, but I wasn’t heavy enough to step down on the pedal. So I would literally have to jump on it to make the full cut. I even helped a few other female classmates who were smaller than me by jumping with them so they could use the table shear 🤣

Another trick is to put a 15pound weight on first so that you can just put a lil plate under the 15 plate to make getting the 45s off easier. Hope this helps:)

Another good tip is when you deadlift over 4 plates. use this method on one side, leave other side loaded, tilt empty side upwards, snd and pull out the bar, Excalibur style

Works with the expensive flat plates, but most of these gyms have these 2.5 plates which are very ‘bumpy’/3D with ribs for extra grip so rolling it onto them is a pain in itself, still usually easier than having to be lifting it up and sliding on another plate tho

I've always done deadlifts like any other movement, start from the rack, and finish with racking it. Only 1RM is done from floor and finished on the floor, and then just take off one plate each side and then rack it.

I can't believe she got to deadlift that without ever having to unload manually. I've never used that device (didn't exist in my gyms). Anyway, another method could be to find something to make the lever longer.
