As an aside, the Lady Talisa Maeger (Robb's nurse) is played by Oona Chaplin. Her grandfather was the great Charlie Chaplin.

The mark of a good director there is the focus on Maester Luwin's reaction and his horror when the two boys' bodies are revealed. We know his depth of feeling and attachment, and that he is a sympathetic, good person, and so we feel the pain even if the scene has an element of mystery or 'cliff-hanger'.

The warlock killed the council so that Xaro can rule Qarth. In return, Xaro helped him take the dragons. The original plan was for him to marry her and get the dragons that way. But after she turned him down, they did this instead.

One of the Great episodes.... and the appropriate reaction at the end. As the philosopher Arya Stark said "Anyone can be killed" Valar Morghulis.

Welcome to the Game of Thrones my Rangers...its the best rollercoaster ride without leaving your house. So always keep the tissues handy...I know as many times as I have seen these episodes I still get years later... Rangers you all are only in Season 2 be patient and have faith...there are lots are reasons us die hard fans love this Series.... The dialogue between Arya and Tywin is one of favorites... You have great insight remember Osha is a Wilding and has skills... The Warlock is scary for sure but remember Daenerys is not without skills? Until next time...feel better✌👍😉

Don't worry there not forgetting about Joffrey,it's just sometimes characters don't appear for a few episodes because of the number of storylines in the show.It's the same for stannis as well but they are still a big part of this season as you will see.And yes the Daenerys storyline in season 2 is definitely the worst of the early seasons. But don't worry it picks up in season 3.

The Jon Ygritte stuff might come off as cheesy at first, but it tells a bigger story of the 2 Norths.The wall divided the North for thousands of years. Animosity was always there. But the diverging fate of the 2 Norths was fully sealed when 300 years ago Aegon the Conqueror consolidated the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros into a single unit ruled by one king, and the wall became the northern extremity of his empire. So part of the North (headed by Winterfell) bent the knee to Aegon Targaryen & became subjects of the Iron Throne, united & assimilated with the other kingdoms. They prospered, but they were ruled by the South & had to assimilate themselves with the dominant "Andal" culture of the South. While the North on the other side of the wall were left out, impoverished, looked at as outlaw savages. But they were free, so they're the ones who retained the customs & traditions of the "First Men" culture of the old North. Now Jon being an assimilated Northman guarding the wall, the Wildlings would look at him as sort of a sellout, while Jon would naturally be conflicted keeping his own ethnicity out for a southern throne. It's important to understand this conflict of loyalties going forward.

*"She pulled a chair close to the hearth, took down one of her favorite books, and lost herself in the stories of Florian and Jonquil, of Lady Shella and the Rainbow Knight, of valiant Prince Aemon and his doomed love for his brother’s queen."* - Sansa IV, Game of Thrones In a way Tywin was describing Sansa when he was trying to get a reading on Arya's personality by asking her if she was interested in the pretty maidens from the songs. While Sansa represents the traditional feminine archetype you would expect in a period drama, she too in her own way has shown a surprising resilience to immense adversity, not unlike her younger sister who relates more to the wars and conquests of Rhaenys and Visenya Targaryen.

I don't know that Tywin thinks Arya is a highborn girl. More likely he believes she's been around highborn people, perhaps as a personal maid or a servant in a noble house. Either way, he probably doesn't care because he has far bigger things to worry about as Vince said. War sometimes makes odd companions.

Pryat Pree was the one the stole the dragons... he is the warlock. Also, the scenes with Arya and Tywinn steal the episode, I think. They had such great chemistry, beginning when he noticed that she met his gaze as she was saying "Anyone can be killed." That was in episode 5, but the dynamic is great! Keep 'em coming, as I am really enjoying your reactions and discussions!

I wish I had a dollar for every time a GoT reactor says they’ll stop watching the show if this or that person is killed off, and then if it does happen they keep watching. Be prepared you two. You’ve seen nothing yet. Ha ha.

remember when jaime and Robert talked about the war and the last words of Arys II (the mad king) "BURN THEM ALL" -------- really weird that everybody insults jaime for killing the guy that everybody wanted to kill
@Glenn_Close_But_No_Cigar2 жыл бұрын
Love how they bait that very obvious trope of Jaime pulling a okie doke to escape, only to invert it and have him be captured 5 mins later. It's these little tweaks that make the storytelling even better. The Jaime Catelyn tent scene is excellent too. The different things they talk about : oaths and loyalties, Jaime saying "Kingslayer? And what a king he was!", how he taunts Cat about hating the bastard son. All these different topics they touch on, all of them very significant.
