Boat looks great, not easy scraping and painting the bottom!!! Also, I’m so glad all’s well Renee!!! Keith is much like my dad, he also flew commercial for Eastern Airlines long ago and could build anything- he remodeled the boat we went to FL on! I miss him so much! Your kids all growing up - same age as we were on our trip, playing guitars and being great crew members! Yea crew! These adventures will be forever remembered and treasured!!! Thanks for sharing your lives!!!!- Cindy

I love watching you all together as a family Renee you’re so awesome. It’s so good to see all the kids working on the boat. And if any of them decide to have a boat as they grow older they will know how to fix virtually everything! They’re so blessed to have such wonderful parents! Keith is such a cool dad you’re such a cool mom. Praying for you with your sis I am a cancer survivor and have had A third of my breast removed. So I’m sending you lots of prayers and hugs. Stay on top of your self examination we would like to have you around for another hundred years! Love and hugs to your wonderful family from grandma in Florida!

I am so grateful for the quality and care you put into your videos and sharing, been following for a long time. Im a father of 4 they are 6 yr old twins boy and girl , 9 yr old girl, and 10 yr old girl. My wife retired after 20 years in the marine corp. We Started this journey a couple years ago, we got a Hunter 456 last year, we are working towards taking our family out into the world. And having Zatara lead the way with honest to goodness American values as you have is priceless.

Finn reminds me of myself at his age. So full of life, self confidence and impervious to adversity. But he obviously tapped his talents in a way I never did. Is there anything this kid can't do? All of your children are blessed and so well adjusted. Keith and Renee, we should have all had parents like you.😊

I don't believe it, he sits down pretending to fix it, the real mechanic is behind the camera saying " ok Keith you are holding the screwdriver upside down " that's not even Keith it's deepfake Keith.
@tiddyfard45173 жыл бұрын
I think he has a fairly decent knowledge he did say he worked in oil fields which generally speaking requires mechanical knowledge at the very least.

Nice simple explanation of how zincs work and why they are needed, plus video proof that as long as you follow the instructions, anyone can put a modern propeller back on it's shaft! Thanks for an excellent tutorial Keith. And yes, she does look so much cleaner without the top pinstriping and just the name on the bow. Looking forward to seeing your next adventures!!

My wife and I have been watching your family's journey over the last year and just wanted to tell yall we are so inspired. I have served 11 years in the air force and my wife is at 8 now. Everything we do is geared towards setting up our dream of cruising. I'm a normal Oklahoma kid and met wife there. Stationed next to the ocean, getting to travel a lot with my career, and experience the saltwater smell and love has left a lasting impression on us that has got us day dreaming of possibilities. We hope to retire from the military eventually and follow a similar path as your family has. Take care yall! Love the videos!

Tip for pounding metal: Use dunnage. While it's normally loose wood, matting, or similar material used to keep a cargo in position in a ship's hold, the primary purpose of dunnage is to evenly distribute forces over a larger area. The same principle applies when pressing metal parts together. It prevents warping, which can result in previously round parts becoming slightly out of round, with a resulting loss of grip or proper circular motion.

My extended Sea Family! Really glad that the underwater portions of the boat were addressed (been a REALLY long time, Keith!) and- it all looks excellent. Sorry 'bout the Magic anti-foul, was hoping for the best, but- everyone knew that it might not work. Black though? Like the boot strap, the big Z...Yummy- Zinc! I feel better knowing the cutlass bearings and shafts are true and freshening the props. I know someone will sleep better on passage... Renee- congrats on the "All Clear"- what an impossible peace of mind that brings. Nice 'n tidy- time to sail. I wonder what cruising speeds will be seen now? That hull looks pretty fair to me!!! What a nice family to take all of you in for a couple of weeks in Perth! Bet they're glad that THAT'S over! Hahaha. I hear halyards slapping against the mast in your future!

Glad to hear you are putting an epoxy barrier on before your anti fouling. Will pay off for years to come. What Keith is calling electrolysis is the galvanic corrosion that occurs when two dissimilar metals are exposed to salt water. One of the metals will give off ions to the salt water, zinc or aluminum being more electronegative than brass or steel.

So impressive the way those teenagers get in there and help. Proud of them, they seem to understand the safety of all relies on everyone doing a good and conscientious job. Keith seems to be a masterful mechanic. The guy can work on and fix just about anything, figuring it all out as he goes. SELF RELIANCE is so very important these days and so many people don't possess these skills of critical thinking/problem solving and successful implementation. LOVE Finn's striped hoodie. Can we get those on the Zatara merch site? And of course, Renee's awesome videography makes us all feel like we're right there with y'all. Fair Winds & Following Seas, Z-Crew.
