My ex had an affair, she filed for divorce to go live with her new boyfriend. We had 8 and 10 year old kids at the time, I begged her to stay, I was willing do therapy, no sale. She said the kids would be happier if she was happy. Per my kid supplied intel, 15 years later, she and her soulmate broke up, she is broke, struggling to pay her bills, I retired with seven figures. I was not perfect (and not good to look at), she was a stay at home mom, I didn't drink or go out on weekends, took the kids every Saturday morning so she could have some personal time. I worked +50 hours per week, I did all the laundry and house cleaning. She cooked (didn't clean up afterward) bought groceries and took the kids to doctor/dentist/school stuff. Was a rough first year after the divorce but my life is so much better now.

Getting Married (Nothing wrong with it, I have yet to see a situation where a man could not tell his wife sucked pre-marriage, red flags are always ignored or e the man is a pushover or naive). 2. Having kids (Kids don't cost much unless you include college, it's up to you to raise them correctly and financially guide them and show them what career paths make sense and you CHOOSE to fund them or not based on that) 3. Allowing your wife to stay at home and not work (For thousands of years this has not been an issue, but all of a sudden you think it is. You're missing the problem going on here. It's not staying home that's the issue-it's your choice of wife). 4. Getting divorced (We de-criminalized adultery and incentivized divorce, and even allow it. The fix is not allowing it and punishing adultery. It's not rocket science. In some states adultery is still a crime, but nobody enforces it.) 5. Paying Child Support (Child support is still a new thing in human history. Mandatory DNA test helps, tracking where money is spent and putting it on a card helps. But here's a better idea, abolish it. Removes the incentive for bad women to use it for spite, get pregnant and having children out of wedlock in the first place) 6. Paying Alimony (Change the law, no more alimony, because no more divorce, if you're married, it's till death like you vowed during marriage. We already have laws for murder so if you play that game have fun). 7. Giving half your shit away (See #6) 8. Engagement & Wedding Ring (Again, your choice of woman and what you can afford comes into play here. My wife would have accepted a $500 ring, but I felt she deserved more than that, so I spent a few grand. She doesn't know how much her rings cost.) 9. Dream Wedding (Again, your choice of woman. I got married at the courthouse and my wife is happy with that). 10. Giving half your retirement (Laws? and choice of woman). I think it is in large part discernment. I am married to a college educated woman who is geared towards our household and our kids, firstvand foremost. When we started dating 15 years ago she told me she was looking for a husband and a potential father for kids. That sealed it for me. That said, those are conversations men and women should have. She's a great lady. A bit old fashioned, a little spacy. Awesome lady. I wish younger men had that. Young men need a companion.

Correct, but she's not staying home JUST because of the kids. She's staying home because she's being taking care of financially while being the caretaker of the home and guiding the children when you're not there. That's her job. I have a 16 year old daughter, if you think they don't need guidance you're smoking some good drug. Kids need guidance still in their 20's many times. College is a big example of this. You got all these kids making dumb decisions based on society and what they FEEL not based on what's best. Young adults are still kind of unwise. You have to realize this. You give kids more freedom as they get older but you still have to be there for the teen ones, just not 24/7, especially now a days. The world is getting even more wacky and degenerate.

I remember when women first started the narcissist trend. It was about 15 - 20 years ago I started hearing them consistently referring to their exes as narcissists. My insane exes tried that on me. It stung at first because I was always the overly empathetic person who cared too much. Then I realized they just use that term because they aren't getting what they want. It is they who are the greedy narcissists who are only concerned about what they want.

Any grown woman who talks about not "being" in love anymore is too shallow to understand what love is anyway. She clearly did no work in this marriage. She wanted the girly honeymoon feelings to last her whole life, instead of building the solid, lifelong, trusting, deep friendship type of love that a marriage needs. The husband never had any chance with this narcissist. I am so happy for him that he was able to move on. By the way, I have a PhD and I am highly educated. Her "therapist" is a fraud. A narcissist does indeed look "inward," but finds only his or her own reflection. A therapist with enough education to know who Narcissus was would know this.
