My now ex wife said I "cheated on her", and that was the reason she was filing for divorce. Nope, never happened, that was HER EXCUSE to file for divorce and low and behold a year later I found out SHE was the one cheating and the dude she was banging dumped her right after our divorce was finalized. LOL For years I was mad at the guy for messing around with my wife, but now wherever he is I am so grateful it happened and hold no ill will. I had no idea the woman I chose to marry was absolute trash.

Please for context, please tell me whether you were surprised of her personality or you really deep within the depths of you probably saw it coming. To me, often I do see couples and immediately get a sense of feeling on whether the relationship will last but I am often wrong. But what baffles me is that my BF is ssoooooo much better than me spotting fake women. He has lost friendships over his honesty. If he considers a woman problematic he has a tendency of telling his buddy. Now he has to force himself NOT to say anything and rather try to be the supportive friend to avoid conflicts coz his buddies get defensive when in love, but when the women leave their men (often already having a new guy on the arm) he gets so frustrated coz he seems to see it coming. Did you also see it, while in relationship, or was it only until after you got out of it that you saw it? I cannot read women myself. Maybe it is a male skill.

@@qine6559 Hi, ok to be brutally honest with you, I did not fully see it what was going on as it was happening. Let me explain. Looking back 10 years later there were definitely signs and ever so subtle "red flags", but nothing overt. Things at the time I remember going "Hmmm, that's a little off" but for the sake of the relationship and because I didn't want "to be that guy" you know the one that's portrayed as domineering or controlling I let things slide and put my feelings in the " She is my wife, we are a team, I trust her" category. I loved her so much, was loyal and dedicated, in my head she was too. Here is the crazy part, our marriage was really really good for a long time, until she met this other girl on her volleyball team. Everything was fine with us, until the new friend broke up with her long time BF. ALL OF A SUDDEN, WE were having issues. Then the friend had one BF after another and then a year later my wife is accusing me of cheating. As soon as I heard that, deep down I knew she was sleeping with someone, but I didn't want to believe it. But as I said in my previous post a mutual friend she confided in told her that she was sleeping around on me. NOW, today. I am now like your Boyfriend. I have this knack now that I can spot most deceptions a mile away, or the ones with red flags all over them. I have gone to friends with warnings and told them stuff, only to be pushed away and blocked, but proven right afterwards.

My ex-wife never accused me of cheating, but in her search history I saw that she googled the address for a married woman I met at the park I would arrange play dates with. She was jealous of this woman, even though I don't fuck with married women or have ever screwed around. Turns out, she had been cheating on me throughout the entire marriage, and same thing, she left me for some other dude, and 2 weeks after the divorce was finalized she already had a completely different dude moved in with her!

She was still in the "I can take half of the assets, keep the house, and he has to pay for my quality of life in child support/alimony" stage of delusion. Well, I suspect the court gave her 50/50 custody, the child support is a few hundred bucks a month, she got maybe $20k when the house they bought 10 years ago sold, and she a $15 / hr job working less than 30 hours a week.. In short, she has no money and the only way she is getting a roof over her head is to get on Section 8 housing. And why is her child support so little? Probably because he is paying for the health insurance.

Update: Quite a few comments, so I felt an update was in order. These last 5 months have been tough, mostly now it’s my dog that I miss the most. Luckily we didn’t have any children…but damn if my dog didn’t feel like my little girl. I’ve been living with an old buddy of mine, which has been both helpful and a nightmare. The plus has really been that I managed to finish writing my book and started other interesting projects. __ Two weeks ago my wife of 13 years and I were watching TV, and out of the blue she says, “I don’t think we should be together anymore.” I thought she was joking at first, but quickly realized she was serious. She’s getting everything and I will end up with an old couch and I have to move in with a friend. She already had her lawyers making sure she gets everything. Stay strong, you will get through this one way or the other. My ex was an emotional wreck through out the process telling me everything was my fault and the next minute telling me she didn’t want a divorce. I’m sad that it didn’t work out but also happy this is all behind me now. I’m actually looking forward to starting my new life. I even have a couple of women interested in me (which feels good) but I’m in no hurry to jump back in a relationship. I think I’m going to stay single for a while.

Sadly, one of the women got carried along with the whole thing, and decided to divorce her husband too, even though (and this is hearbreaking) they had an infant daughter. It was crazy to see.

She's not complaining enough about him cheating for me to believe that's what actually happened. I made one comment years ago about my wife's sister being hot, and to this day she will bring it up to mess with me. You don't divorce someone next day for cheating, go through the effort of posting it online, and NOT spend most of that time complaining about him doing it. At the LEAST she would be complaining about the other chick and how it made her feel insecure and less of a woman.

The divorce filing 'the day after' D-Day is REALLY suspect. You'd be lucky to get an appointment to speak to an Attorney, let alone get the paperwork prepared and filed at the Court House. IF the cheating really did happen, I'm guessing it occurred AFTER her telling him the marriage was over. Way too much backstory missing. He's better off.

Let’s assume that everything that she said is true. Let’s assume everything was cool, he cheated, she wasn’t having it and divorced him. Okay, cool. Well, she’s 34, living with her parents, and broke. So that thing where she said that she doesn’t need a man. Looks like she left out “as long as someone else will be able to rescue me”. Also, as we all know, there’s 3 sides to a story. Her side, his side, and the truth. Methinks she left out some details.

@@TalkThatThought if everything she said is true, then okay fine. But for example, what if a woman constantly denies her man sex, he puts up with it for over a year, finally gets sick of it and finds a side piece. Is he the bad guy, or doing something about the bind that he found himself in? Basically I have my doubts that he was happy, and then went out and got some strange on the side.
@ItsOKtobeNormal
@ItsOKtobeNormal 9 ай бұрын
@@hornetguy9063yes he's still the bad guy because he could have left the relationship. Would you say the same thing about a woman who was constantly denied by her husband and then goes and finds a boyfriend while she still married?
@hornetguy9063
@hornetguy9063 9 ай бұрын
@@ItsOKtobeNormal of course. Because vows are important. Words like “to have and to hold” have meaning. If you’re denying your spouse sex for selfish reasons, then you’re the one who’s ended the marriage. Realistically, it’s not the man who withholds sex from the woman, it’s the opposite. So we’ll put it this way: let’s say a man is an electrical engineer and a woman decides to marry him, seeing him as a man who can financially take care of a home while the children are young. But they get married, they have a kid, and suddenly he decides that he wants to quit his high paying job and go be a football coach (low immediate income and low career ceiling), because that would make him “happier”. Would we fault the woman if she left this marriage? Of course not. She probably feels cheated, and he was the one who made a massive, family altering decision unilaterally. So yeah, if we flip the above and she expects him to keep working long hours at his job for “the family” while she can’t even give him sex a few times a week, then she’s the one blowing up the marriage. Even if he “leaves” it.

The best relationship for a man, in my opinion, is she keeps her residence and finances separate from me. We see each other when we want to and as long as I can keep an indifferent attitude toward her, then I will reserve the right to walk away when/if she thinks she doesn’t need me. Modern relationships have a shelf life so as long as he understands it will end sooner than later, he maintains his leverage which keeps her in check. Marriage is a very dumb, risky move in the 2020s.
