I figured the reason you mention grooming for free was to remind us that we make it possible, not as some weird flex. Most groomers aren't able to give time to grooming shelter dogs, for instance. It's a great service, and hugely increases their chance of finding a loving home. You're always supportive of other groomers and remind people that most groomers can't take the time you do, because they don't have the luxury of grooming for free or of having an unshared space where the dogs /cats / pigs / etc aren't triggered by all the ruckus and other animals. What you do is a gift and a blessing, and I, for one, am glad to be able to participate in this project. Thank you

My neighbour’s Great Pyrenees was what sold me on the breed. He was a massive teddy bear, loved absolutely everyone and everything, and when I babysat for them I had to leave the kids’ door open. Not just for the kids, but because the dog would get up every hour or so to make sure his kiddos were safe and comfortable. I was heartbroken when he passed, but his 13 years of life were filled with love and belly rubs

Thank you for what you do. Long ago, I worked in a veterinary clinic. Many of the people who brought their companions in were elderly and just couldn't bath or groom because of physical limitations. And many were on fixed incomes in an area that boomed and became more and more expensive to live in. So many of these folks had lost their human partner, their children were busy with their own families, etc. The pets suffered. What you do is so needed, especially for these situations, so that elderly people, or disabled people, can keep their pets and avoid the loneliness that they might otherwise face. Bravo!!!

Great Pyrenees are amazing dogs! A friend of mine had one (sadly the dog passed away at New Year's, she was 11-12 years old so very respectable age for such a large breed) and that dog was just the sweetest ❤ She'd lean against my legs or wheelchair wheel while she was getting petted, or just put her head on my lap to get more snuggles. Seeing my friend walk past on dog walks was like seeing him walk past with a polar bear because Great Pyrenees are indeed huge (and I'm 5'9" standing up so I'm a lot taller than Vanessa is) It's so sad no longer seeing my local polar bear walk past, but she lived a very long, very full and healthy life, and my friend took amazing care of her through all the years, and I've honestly never met a sweeter, more well behaved dog than Tosca! She loved everyone and everything, except for amstaff dogs or amstaff like dogs, and she wasn't a fan of warm weather (for obvious reasons) Seeing Tosca in the snow was always such a joy, she just loved snow and rain and windy weather that us humans generally don't like much 😅

As an irresponsible pet owner I kept a pyre here in Texas. We had a significant freeze in which people died from the cold. I forced my dogs to come in at night so that no-one would report me to animal protection. They loved it and would have preferred sleeping outside in single digit temps. That storm was last time Daisy was able to take a longer walk as the weather soothed her arthritis. Never met a dog who loved hugs like Daisy did. Having her melt/collapse into my lap when I scratched her ears right was magical. Wish she hadn’t had dog aggression issues, but sometimes you have to accept the bad with the good.

I just love watching the care you provide🐾What makes me feel sad is that you have to explain yourself to the negatives out there who make comments or whatever on grooming for free. This “free” came only out of your very hard work, caring and commitment to reach a level to be able to offer your svcs. Unfortunately, there are ppl who envy other persons success. You should be proud, this all wasn’t handed to you. It was earned and the benefits are being paid forward to the animals and pet owners you serve. I’m old and have no filter. I don’t care what anyone has to say about what I just said to you hon. Keep doing your good work. Hopefully, those who envy or question will turn their thoughts inward as to how they can help their own pet communities. Sorry so windy here, just tired of some people being so dang cynical and critical of others who work hard. Thx for the time.

I've always thought that your free grooms were an excellent way to assist the creatures. also realized that you knew what you were doing. This baby girl turned out gorgeous ❤😊

@joelthames1141 goldies are for sure, sweeties. I am a little more drawn to Pyrenees, though, because of their size. I want to have a giant dog someday. 👀

Have had Pyrrs for >25 years. The best LGDs & companions. Vanessa is a gift to dogs & folks watching & learning. I caution prospective owners: these dogs are NOT for everyone. ➡️ Must have: large well-fenced place (farm or ranch; stock & other animals for them to do their job & occupy their minds; Time: take 3 yrs to mature; Patience: don't expect agility, obedience classes, & they seem aloof but are very emotional. They suffer so in hot climates. And they can weigh 145 lbs. And DO need grooming. Thank you so much. Great dog, great job. 👍🏼

I think it's absolutely amazing that you're grooming pets for free to help the pets and the owners who cannot afford grooming regularly. Thank you for your hard work and for making sure these animals are cleaned properly! Zella looks absolutely amazing!

My first job was at a boarding kennel/groomers 30yrs ago. My first groom was a Great Pyrenees, and I swear I had a pile of fur twice the size of the dog. Such sweet puppies! 😊

No one should ever be saying negative stuff about you or your videos. It's amazing how people can down play other's good hearted nature and their kindness and twist it into something that is not. It is awesome you are so resilient and it's inspiring. Your videos are helping me cope with my difficult situation. I am unemployed and trying to find work. I get excited about opportunities, only to get rejected. Your resilience is inspiring me and helping me to feel better, so thank you!

GPs are such beautiful and precious dogs. Thank you for, once again, giving your time to groom another special pet! You could just as easy collect $$ for every groom, and using any income from KZbin to line your pocket! But you don't do that, and that touches my heart so deeply!

I so wish you were closer (I’m in PA). My boyfriend’s parent’s have a very anxious and under socialized Great Pyrenees as well and she’s in desperate need of a grooming but it’s such a hassle. So nice of you to help out these fur babies, thank you for all you do :)

Today's society is so selfish & self involved they can't comprehend doing something for free because it's a good, compassionate, selfless act. You are an angel. Miserable people suck. I watch every video on both channels!

I think the younger generations are the most giving. Both of my parents are boomers in their early 70s and 80s. They truly cannot understand doing stuff for free to help others out. They are of the opinion that everybody should pull their own weight and take care of their own business. I think the young generations, millennials and gen z our living in an absolutely terribly economy and are struggling. Struggling in a way that boomers parents did. And they understand the idea that we have to help each other out to survive just like they did.

you are doing something great, not only are you helping the dogs, but you’re being neighborly and a decent human being who is involved with the welfare of others. By others, I’m talking about the dogs. People don’t realize that they have souls, and that they understand what you’re saying, and they understand the tone of your voice. I love to listen to you talk to the dogs, even when you’re telling them not to do something, your tone of voice sounds decisive, but never nasty. You have a gift and I’m really glad you are able to give that gift freely.

I LOVE the fact you can offer free grooms! I don't know why anyone would say anything negative about that. If anything, it just makes me love your content even more!

She's beautiful ❤. I have a Great Pyrenees that I groom myself. I live in a small rural town with no groomer, so your GP grooming videos give me helpful tips. The place I go to doesn't have your type of setup & it makes it difficult to dry her back side as she wants to sit. Suffice it to say, my girl doesn't get her mats taken off as well as you do, but she's clean❤. Thanks for helping those working dogs, especially the ones who don't get groomed regularly. 😊

As for the negative comments, there is always some unhappy soul that wants to spread their unfortunate joy. Keep up the good work. You do so much for your community. I love watching the grooming of the large dogs. They are so beautiful! Much continued success to you and those you provide for as well as the upcoming July event.

She's a beauty and such a good girl. I have 2 males GP's, Roger & Murphy. They are noble dogs. Very smart, very zen, super tolerant with my 3 year old grandson, and the best guardians to my goats and chickens, and us. We've got bears & mountain lions here in the mountains, but they've never gotten on my property because of these two. We've got a neighbor about 1/4 mile away and she told me that Roger jumped our fence to chase a bear off her property. We also have a neighbor with 4 pit pulls that sometimes get out and run up and down the fence line. Roger has jumped the fence and herded them all back up to their property before. He's never hurt them, just took them all back home. We had to put up a cattle wire to keep him from getting out - its been the only thing that has worked. Love these dogs so much!

You ARE doing something great for the animals, and for shelters and people who can't afford to groom their pets. There will always be snide assholes on the net. There are also hundreds of thousands of viewers who value what you do, and who love your content and are happy to help you accomplish these grooms.

I used to work for a shelter that pulled a lot of dogs from an area with lots of livestock, and that meant a LOT of Pyrs. I have to agree with your assessment that they’re just a stellar breed. Without fail, they were sweet, cuddly, and very willing to put up with grooming and medical care. ❤❤ Too much dog for me, but in a different life where I had property and livestock I would have several!

Well, I discovered your channel when I was in the hospital in the autumn of last year-something just came across my feed, and I watched it. I got right away what you were all about. I think it's GREAT what you do for people - please don't be discouraged by negativity and people that harp. Anyone can tell you aren't bragging about what you do. There are just some people that can't look beyond themselves and so, in their misery, they want to bring everyone else to that place. Otherwise, just keep doing what you're doing. The rest of us appreciate it.😊

Speaking of nasty comments, individuals have so much fun being jerks from the cheap seats. What you do is great for the dogs, great for people. The things I most appreciate are your breed descriptions. It’s always useful for people to understand that some dogs are not couch potatoes or particularly nice or need an experienced dog person. I volunteered years in rescue. I cannot count the number of times dogs were surrendered because the owner did no research, resulting in fairly significant injuries or deaths of other animals. Your helping!

Our Pyr goes to the groomer tomorrow, thank God! He’s starting to blow his coat & it’s trying to get compacted on his back end. I’ve at least been able to pull it apart so he doesn’t get matted. Glad he’ll get it blown out tomorrow. Love my polar bear!
