She-Ra was originally created as a girls’ toy version of He-Man by Mattel. Filmation, whom had been doing an animated cartoon of He-Man for television, made an animated cartoon for She-Ra for television and made many cross overs. It started with an animated movie in theaters where it was revealed the Horde soldier Adora was kidnapped from Eternia and was Prince Adam’s sister. That said, this animated series is its own thing. It has no connection to He-Man that I am aware of. They took the She-Ra characters and base premise and rebooted it into an original story. In my opinion, it is really good.

Thing is i had a fantasy once of someone on this how becoming He-Man after Season 5 Like maybe someone grabs She-Ra’s sword which would’ve made been made of magic at that point, says She-Ra’s call and transforms. Adora can can still have her own sword but the one the man used belongs to him so there’s two swords now, also She-Ra’s call doesn’t work anymore cuz the man doesn’t believe he can be She-Ra so the lesson would be to not be she-ra, be yourself, he says the line he wants to transforms with a brand new look that’s more masculine and becomes He-Man

Holy shit yes! Wee Lass just recently started reacting to it too! I remember this show getting SO MUCH HATE for the artstyle change, but let’s be honest: even with the potential budget limitations of the original 80s show, the fact every character had the exact same body type was kinda annoying when looking back on it now. Here, everyone is distinct in size, each have vibrant colors to stand out, and it makes them far more interesting. This adaptation is five seasons of really fascinating development for Adora. You’re gonna love her. Her VA Aimee Carrero is fantastic! And fun fact: a lot of the staff on She-Ra worked on The Owl House; one specific character may sound familiar.

I feel like the word "Princess" is somewhat of a misnomer (since it's used to refer to a specific kind of magic user), but given that most Princesses in the show are also in charge of their own region, it's kind of a "for want of a better word" type situation.

This show is a beautiful journey. It starts out silly because this is a coming-of-age story. They grow up unlike most kids' shows into 20-year-olds by the end. This show gets dark and deals with really messed up problems. So please stick with it till the end. Trust us.

I've been binging She-Ra for the first time, and I have to recant my previous vote. While Young Justice is a stupendously good series (I've watched it a half dozen times), She-Ra is the true challenger to Avatar in terms of a fully realized story arc -- and more importantly an ideal fit for Letts React in many, many ways.
