There is no such thing as a hypoallergenic dog. The least bothersome are short haired because they shed less. This hairy pup is not in that category. Afghan Hounds are an exception as they only have one coat like people. They don't have that under coat to shed. So dad, you aren't doing your allergic daughter any favors here.

@@cheekypiper512 Actually, you are totally wrong. Allergic reactions to animals, such as dogs, is caused by their dander, not their hair. It makes absolutely no difference whether they are long or short haired dogs. Any dog that produces dander will cause an allergic reaction in certain people. The maltese doesn't have the type of fur that most dogs have, they have hair that is similar to people. They are perfect for children like this little girl. Shedding doesn't cause allergic reactions. It's the dander that you breathe in.

I am so happy that your family found a good puppy that your daughter isn't allergic to! It gives me hope. We adopted a whippet lab mix and found out 2 of our kids were allergic to her. The doctor told us that our son would start having breathing complications soon with allergy season coming up, so we worked quickly to find her a new forever family to be with, and she loves them dearly. We miss our Daisy, but she's happy, safe and loved.

Kudos to your family, dad. Instead of surprising the girls and possibly scaring Choe half out of her ears with the excitement, you prepared them. You required of them to make the place dog safe. And they did that of you too. Delayed gratification and anticipating gifts is sadly, such a thing of the past. Deserving the dog here was simply a moot point. My family has a Lhasa apso cross Maltese, both hypoallergenic dogs because me and my siblings are allergic to dog hair. By the time we got him he had been through 2 homes and we were his 3rd and last home and this was all in his first year of life. He came from a breeder originally but we ended up getting him as a rescue, the family was so glad that he was getting a home that they refused to take our money. He’s our tiny little guard dog. We’ve now had Henry for 6 years, and he’s the best decision my parents ever made. We now have a cat named Summer, we are also her 3rd home because she used to be a show cat, then a breeder and now we’re her retirement home, she’s a low shed cat, though she does still shed but not enough to cause problems. We got her when she was 3, she’s 7 now so we’ve had her for 4 years. Henry and Summer are the best of friends and they, though they get confused by eachother a styles, love play with eachother. He’s learnt so many different tricks and the only tricks she’s learnt is how to trick us into feeding her extra.

Oh that did my heart good! I feel that dogs (and or cats) and kids just go together and then after you've grown up with one...or a few you can't help but have them when you are an adult too! I am a huge dog lover. I can't have one right now. I live on the top floor of an apartment on a busy street and I work 8 hours a day 40 hours a week. So, at this point in my life I don't have a dog. I do however, have the most wonderful cats! I could feel the girl's excitement to get Chloe right off the screen! Ive felt the same way every time I adopted a dog or cat. What a wonderful family and with the addition of 4 paws now it is complete!

I had a similiar experience before quarantine! Once we had to pick up some stuff for our pets, We went to a small pet store near where we were gonna meet with my moms ex, we went in and decided to look at some dogs while we picked up the food, We met a bichon frise named max, He seemed really nice and cute, Ill get back to that later, i had to go with my moms ex since i usually stay at his house for a couple days, Once i got back i noticed my mom was holding a white fluffy dog, It was max! I smiled the moment i saw him, My mom told me that she got him for me! But he kept barking at us, And now we have a little white demon dog that always play fights with everyone

This absolutely made my day! I have a Maltese as well. They're super affectionate and wonderful companions; mine acts exactly like Chloe does and is like a daughter to me. I can tell they have an unbreakable bond that'll last a lifetime! I hope the two of them are doing well ❤️

I'm severely allergic to a lot of different things. Trees, grass, molds, Animals like cats, horses, gunniepigs, birds and dogs. I went through taking allergy shots to atleast reduce the severity of my allergy. The shots went well, until I had a bad reaction to one and was put into the ICU (it's my asthma that's connected to the allergies, hence the hospitalization) I was on the shots for a long enough that my doc said my body would be able to handle most of what I'm allergic to. I'm able to play with dogs, but I'm still really allergic to cats and trees and some grass/molds. I now have a son who I unfortunately transfered my allergies to, he turned 8 this week and now I'm on my own journey to get my son a dog he and I can live with. I absolutely love this video, and it gives me hopes that I'll be able to do what this dad did and find a dog for my son.

If you go on the AKC website there is a section where it has all the breeds and you can filter by all hypoallergenic breeds. Hopefully this helps you find the perfect dog for you P.S you don't have to get a puppy I just think looking at all the breeds will help you find one in the shelter.

The dogs that are non allergic are dog breeds with HAIR and not fur. Maltipoo, Maltese, Poodles, Yorkies, Morkies...all have HAIR...

@@rebekahg.8514 Yeah, I can see that too. But Maisie doesn’t seem to have any problem with it. Besides, they probably just sent in the footage of Violet and Chloe hanging out because this video was about Violet finally getting a dog despite being allergic. I’m sure Chloe hangs with Maisie a lot too. Also, dogs can love multiple people but still sort of favor one. Our dogs are like that. Sherlock, our older one, favors my brother a little more than me. While Clue, our younger one, favors me more. But both dogs still love our whole family a lot ☺️ And also, who knows? They could get the younger sister a dog in the future. If they were able to find Chloe, they can certainly find another one 🤗

One of the best dogs ever. Our family had to have a dog just like this as well. I ended up with a male Maltese, who was being abused in the home. He was the dog of a nurse, at our local hospital. That sweet baby changed our lives and our hearts 7 years ago, and still continues to do so. I had always bought from a breeder, but never again. It was as if he was made especially for us. On September 5, my birthday, 7 years ago, our sweet Willie, left that horrible life, and has never ever looked back since. He will always be loved, cherished, and appreciated until his last breath. Congratulations, from the absolute bottom of my heart.
