My father is 56 years old, and I know he’s not a senior. But he’s physically not strong anymore he can’t even hold a pen. And I’ve been trimming his nails and sometimes doing some home simple foot spa with him for almost 6 years now. Even though I’m married and having a baby, I still go at my parents home and trim his nails. Reason why I am the one doing it because my mother died at 49 years old due to cancer. And both of my siblings are busy with work and all. And my father only trust me when trimming his nails. And I’m truly grateful for that.

I used to be a nurse & I was working in a geriatric care hospital. One of my patients had a horny growth on top of one of her large toenails-about 2" high. The doctor wouldn't nor would the podiatrist attempt to treat or remove it.She had to have a hole cut in all her shoes to allow this thing to poke through.She felt embarrassed about it as she was mentally fine and liked to look her best. I gave her a bath one day & let her feet soak for a while. As I was drying her feet, this horn thing looked translucent & I realized it might be hollow through the middle. I got one blade of the clippers & poked it through the horn quite easily. Then I closed the blades together, there was a loud "snick" and the horn came off! My patient was delighted & I felt very pleased with myself! The toenail had grown so long it had curled back over itself & formed the horn. A Podiatrist could have filed it down, but everyone seemed to very reluctant to touch it. She wasn't diabetic, so there was no issue there. It's one of my finest moments in nursing-to have solved a problem that had troubled and annoyed this woman for many years.

That’s causing more attention to my feet walking with a hug big toe sticking out like be serious 😂😢
@Eclipsed38 күн бұрын
The person might’ve had mobility issues that prevented them from being able to reach their feet/ or hold a position to reach their feet long enough to trim it. I have to agree though🤦 why is THAT the solution… and not just investigating the ‘horn’ and someone trimming it…😵💫

I've been watching your videos for a while and it's made me realize I need to take better care of my feet. My feet hurt all day. I work as a nurse and have 6 and 7 hour shifts where I'm on my feet all day. So today I bought a pair of Brooks tennis shoes. They are so comfortable. My old shoes I was wearing were Nike tennis shoes I bought 8 years ago. And I got orthotics as well. I have a lot of health issues and have been pre-diabetic before. And I'm worried about having foot and joint issues later in life. My heals, arches, knees, and hips were all hurting. But just a few hours in my new shoes and orthotics my feet feel better! I live in the states so I can't see you but I've learned so much from watching your videos and have realized how important it is to take care of my feet!

I would LOVE to see what a pedicure could do for folks like her!!!! Just filing the free edge, pushing down the cuticle, exfoliating and maybe even some polish!!! I think the clients would be SO PLEASED! Is there a reason no one seems to contract pedicurists in podiatry offices??

Love your work have you ever thought of suggesting a foot soak at least once a week it helps reduce the dead skin cells from under the nail and foot and relaxing for client i have skin that calluses very quickly and this helps my feet and slows build up under my nails as i can't drive anymore to have regular access to foot care this helps me love your videos thanks for sharing you feel so much empathy for your clients with no judgement a true professional
