It's so horrible what this poor woman endured. They just left her to suffer, waste away, and rot. Rest in peace to Lacey and I hope her parents rot away in prison. Yes I said it and I don't care if that offends anyone.

Yeah and whats to say they were even living there full time? They were away when she finally died. Its not murder, they literally tortured her to death on purpose. Deserves far more outrage from the general public and deeper investigation. Worst thing ive ever even heard of honestly.
@gwhite7136
@gwhite7136 Жыл бұрын
@@pinetreetemple4611 Agreed. For me, they knew she wasn't going to get up and feed herself, change herself, especially if they were away. Plus, you know that had no one coming to visit them or else they would have been reported. So, knowing all they, they knew death would eventually come. To me, that's a long duration pre-meditated murder. We rarely ever hear of such torture. The only thing I can recall was fiction in a movie back in the 90's called, "Seven". The killer left a drug victim on a drug drip and slow drip I.V. for a year and to me, this was worse.

I cant imagine the physical pain she endured for so long . Im a nurse and I can tell you - severe malnourishment , body wasting and especially your body tissues slowly rotting away is excruciating for a person . At times we have to sedate patients undergoing wound care for skin conditions far less - because the pain is that severe. If she had feces on her face and hair you can believe she ingested some as well. They found parts of the couch in her stomach contents. Those breeders deserve the same treatment - otherwise there is no justice .

I had Open Heart Surgery and woke up and didn't know where I was. I was strapped to the bed with no memory of what was going on and was scared to death. I tried to get up and a nurse kept pushing me back down in (In My Chest)instead of saying...remember you're at the hospital you had surgery..... When I finally got to a room after a couple days in the ER...I kept nodding no to my niece whenever the nurse came in the room. My niece wrote the alphabet down on a piece of paper, she pointed to the letters and I nodded until she figured out what I was saying. When the nurse came back in, my niece went off and told the nurse not to come back. We called Patient Advocate so on and so forth...I'm just saying, I had tubes down my throat I couldn't speak and this woman was abusing me.... I can't imagine sitting and rotting in a couch unable to communicate or verbalize my pain, watching them eat, smelling the food and unable to move. No interaction No Love. There's a special place in Hell for these two Maniacs.

This almost happened to my intellectually disabled sister. Our mother didnt interact with her and she started getting depressed in Highschool, and refused to go (you could not drag her down the stairs, to the bus). My sister watched TV alone all day and developed schizoid personality disorder. I gave our mother paperwork for a day program and group home, that only had a two year wait list, and she completely ignored them. I stupidly didnt realize how bad things would get for my sister when I moved to another state. My mom worked two jobs and abandoned my sister to care for herself all day. My sister was totally isolated, continued to deteriorate, and became full blown schizophrenic. She got to a point that she refused to eat or leave her bed or go to the bathroom. My younger siblings, who were children, tried to drag her to the bathroom themselves, but couldnt handle her. I have since learned that this is the progression that happens when humans are socially isolated over years. It starts with emotional neglect but becomes a severe mental health issue in which it becomes more difficult to physically care for them due to resitant behaviors. By this point, the group homes had a 10 year wait list and my sister was too far gone to be accepted in one. My mother finally called me to tell me she was placing her in an institution if I didnt take her. My sister came to live with me when I was 27. I got her mental health support, talked to her constantly and placed her in a day program. She got better, but it was extremely hard because she would refuse to cooperate, eat food, wear clothes, etc, but over time she got used to doing these things again. There werent any waiting lists in CA, and I placed my sister in a group home when I had my first child. It was kind of far from me so I couldnt see her as much as I wanted. Within six months she suffered massive brain damage lost almost all her skills and ability to talk, and I had to immediately rescue her after just a few visits. No one took her to a doctor or told me what happened. For the next 20 years I would have to care for her on and off because the quality of care for people like my sister in CA is unregulated, severely low quality with widespread abuse and neglect. It looks like the 1950s in CA group homes. There are many stories like this. We just dont hear about them. This woman's parents, like my mother, are horrible abusers who gave up trying and neglected their child to death. But I am guessing there was also nowhere else for her to go. People with intellectual disabilities are hidden from view from our "insta-perfect" world, and never talked about, even here in "progressive" CA. The burden falls entirely families to care for them, and sometimes the parents are disabled themselves as they age out and die. The best way to honor this young woman is to start talking about the lack of appropriate and humane care for people like her, right here in a "developed" nation and demand our leaders make this issue a priority.

HOLY! Im a HUGE true crime person ever since i was a kid and my mom and I would watch FBI most wanted or unsolved mysteries together. So ive heard of some messed up cases. Josef Fritzl always comes to mind as being the most horrific crime ive ever heard of but this might the most gruesome crime ive ever heard of. I cant even comprehend passing by my child (age doesnt matter) and see them quite literally waste away on a couch. Theres absolutely NO SHOT they didnt have any say in this, if they even had half a brain cell they would know something is wrong with her and talk to their friends about it or a doctor or something. But this remained hush hush for all those years? This is just obscene. One of the worst abuse cases EVER. My jaw was legit dropped for minutes reading the details of her autopsy. Jesus christ the parents deserve to be locked in a cell forever. My niece is disabled and she just turned 19 and my sister is taking care of her for the rest of her life so i guess this hits home even harder. I cant imagine seeing my niece whos autistic plus some other health issues stuck on a couch for 12 years. =((( it literally pains me to even think about it. This is neglect to the highest degree. I raised my children as a single parent , from the time they were 2 and 4. My son has autism, moderate MRDD. He doesn't speak and has lots of problems. He is 36 now. He dresses and feeds himself. Keeps his room clean, hangs up his clothes. Goes to workshop and other activities. He was 8 before he was out of diapers. I have absolutely no idea how 2 thinking adults could of let this happen to their child. Hell isn't hot enough for people like that. And they will find out when they reap what they've sown. I hope they get a decent judge and jury.

This is similar to the Danieal Kelly case in Philadelphia. This poor girl was born with cerebral palsy, and her mother couldn’t be bothered with her…so she kept her locked away in a stifling hot room without food or water, in her own waste until she died. Her last words to her brother who desperately tried to help her the best he could was, “water”. This was a big case, because CPS failed Danieal and tried covering up their tracks by falsifying and shredding documents. Be careful looking for this case…there are pics of this poor girl post mortem.

I read up on that case. Just as horrific. I’m glad that DHS workers were also charged. They had an obligation to see that she was cared for and didn’t. The thing that really pissed me off was that her birth person( can’t call her a mother) sure cashed danieal’s SS checks. Hope she rots away.

We had a case like that in my town in the 90s. Adult woman abused by uncle, she broke her hip, uncle left her on the floor, she couldn't move, he gave her food and water. Not sure how much time passed, rescue did find her alive, rescue had to cut the carpet around her for transport, her legs couldn't be saved and were amputated. I took care of this lady in the nursing home. You had to be very careful with her, she was so traumatized emotionally that only certain people she would trust as long as you did everything exactly the way she wanted. Very sad but at least the rest of her days were safe.

@Ryka Costello…I’m so sorry to hear that you were treated like that by the people who were supposed to be your parents. Your children are your children until the day you die and should always feel free to be able to come to their parents if they need help with anything. My daughter will soon be 22 and still lives at home and when the time comes when she decides to move out on her own, it will be a hard adjustment for me to make. That’s my baby. She always has been and always will be. No matter how old she gets. Some people just shouldn’t be allowed to have children. There was a similar case in the U.K. A few years ago a young woman with learning difficulties lost her dad. She just sat on the settee and didn’t get up. She just sat and her mum just fed her on fried egg sandwiches. She put on a lot of weight and became obese. Her mother left her in her own filth for years until she was covered in faeces maggots. Only when she was dying did her mother call an ambulance. All she said when her dying daughter was carried out by paramedics was “what will the neighbours think.” It caused a public outcry, I think the mother got a minimum sentence.

Lamont, I live in Louisiana so when I heard of this in 22' I kept up with the news. Do u know Lacy had foam in her stomach, found during the autopsy? She was so hungry she was eating the couch cushions which she sat upon. Her parents, the Fletchers, were actually on VACATION, came back home and found her dead. They left that baby girl, in her condition, alone, helpless, hungry, and she got so hungry she ate the foam cushions of the couch, all the while they vacationed. Her age was 36, but its believed she sat on that couch for 12 years, which would've made her 24 when it started. Her teen friends say she wasn't abnormal, but its stated she did have a paralysis condition where only her eyes would move. This was PREMEDITATED MURDER!!! These parents mind controlled their daughter, took advantage of her condition, left her to sit upon a couch day end, day night, left her alone while rotting in her own body juices, all the while she excremented upon herself until the maggots appeared. To this day i CANNOT believe the Fletchers are still breathing. Monsters are out there, and their called Humans. If the Fletchers ever make it to prison, i hope their punishment will be so slow, 12 years slow. RIP baby girl Lacy!

My wife works with the developmentally disabled and sadly she has more than 1 client whose family kept them in similar or identical conditions before being found and taken away by child protective services and/or law enforcement. And most were completely normal prior to their mistreatment. With Lacey, I would almost 100% guarantee that her diagnosis of severe autism and severe social anxiety was a direct result of her parents treatment of her from birth through high school. There may have even been sexual abuse at one time by one or both parents as well because my wife has noted that this is also a common theme in cases like this. That poor girl! Why was this not a first degree murder charge? The parents willingly did this and kept their daughter like that for years knowing that it would eventually kill her.

PLEASE don't spew forth all these accusations with your nonsensical 100% guarantee BS based on what your wife thinks and or does for a living. NO ONE actually knew what was going on inside that home. @@ponylovermadden4560 I assume that you know or are related to the monsters that did this! Telling people don't spew accusations with nonsensical BS. What's sickening is that you're defending any actions that these people had telling people go look at the police reports we don't need a police report to know what they did to their daughter look at the pictures. And it's safe to assume that anything happened in that house. In my opinion I think he was touching his daughter and his wife found out. I believe he touched his daughter the wife found out and started abusing her. I believe the wife did something to her that made her be in a state where she could no longer walk. Just because you're autistic doesn't mean that you lay on a couch all day long she had to get there somehow and the way they treated her she had bed sores from her ankles to her buttocks all the way to the Bone I believe the husband was messing around with his daughter the wife found out and beat her severely she was unable to care for herself after that and they left her on the couch to rot and they abused her and the husband did nothing about it and the wife was the one that did most of the abuse that's what I believe. I believe the wife was jealous of the daughter because the husband was messing around with her. You don't just go from taking care of your kid and all of a sudden she reaches puberty and then nobody sees her in 15 years later or 20 years later she's now found dead on the couch with bed sores. They abused her that bad you can almost guarantee that there was sexual abuse going on. Like I said you must be related to the monsters to even think about telling somebody not to spew accusations. It's not sickening to think that there was sexual abuse going on what's sickening is that you would even think about defending them for half a second. You're a disgusting person to even defend their actions. And I assume you know them you can tell them how disgusting they are and they should be burning in hell. What I said is my opinion and I'm allowed to have it I believe he was abusing his daughter sexually the wife found out and started abusing her because she was jealous that the husband was sexually attracted to his daughter and not to her and the husband did nothing to help save his daughter she was found melted into a couch she had foam from the couch in her stomach because she was starving. Something happened when she was a teenager and make them start treating her like that. Like I said I'm allowed to have my own opinion and that's my opinion I believe that he's a pedophile and was abusing his daughter sexually and the wife found out they're both sick in my opinion and they both should be under the jail. poor Lacey. this story struck me because I suffer disabilities as well, but my parents would never abuse me I'm that manner. I'm 41, and I live alone, but they help me when I call confused about something, and they drive me where I need to go. I go up home for holidays. there is no excuse for letting a disabled young woman to suffer like this. 😢

No it's just wrong to cause a young woman with a disability to suffer mental and physical abuse.

Couldn't those horrible parents reach out to the State to see if there was a facility that she could be cared for? No one deserves to die that way. I just read up on locked in syndrome and she had consciousness. So she was aware of the pain and torment as well as the smell from her own feces as she wasted away. So inhumane. I hope her parents are found guilty and locked up for life. May Laci Rest in Peace. 🙏❤✝️

Seeing that she went to school for all those years, shows she wasn't totally 'gone'. When she was pulled out of school, what agency did a follow-up? Why did she slip through the cracks? It's sad.

"Seeing that she went to school for all those years, shows she wasn't totally 'gone'." Kids with developmental problems can often get along in school just fine until the lessons and social interactions go beyond what they are capable of. People interpret that as "suddenly going down hill" when in reality the kids has been doing her utter best for years and now finally things are too difficult. "what agency did a follow-up" Whats followup though? If the state she was in did not require her to attend school then nobody has to follow up on anything. Plus this is the USA, education is not really a thing in the first place, let alone looking after kids with problems. MIlitary Budget: yes. Healthcare: no.
