Mercedes drivers seem to be bad everywhere! KFC was the 1st American fast food place to make it in Japan. My wife and I lived in Yokohama for 6.5 years back in the 90's and love watching your videos! Brings back a lot of fond memories.

I'm in the south bay area CA and take as many backstreets as I can when riding. I think that is why I'm still alive to this day as I have been riding fairly consistently since 2012. I would say 'stay safe', but you can create your own safety by riding more backstreets, that is if you know where they are and they are in decent shape.

At least have those little silicone "to be seen".... those are cheap enough to have for every bike...leave in saddle bag. I do like Cygolite's all-in-one unit lights, like the Dash Pro 600. No mount that stays on the bike that could get stolen...or messed with by losers playing practical jokes

Ah, food, the only truly universal currency. Today is the first day I commute to work on bike. Ride is short, around 3.5-4km, so it's not much, except for the uphill section on the way home.

@@hitama2758 Took my old 26" MTB because my new 27.5" MTB is being serviced right now :D It's early 2000 model Kelly's Radius, similar to this: ebike.hu/products/bicycle/mtb/men-26/7301_kellys-radius-xc-bike/ Part of the route consists of going offroad down the hill, so MTB gives me little bit more security. And extra workout on my way home won't hurt

@@louiemarcsalva I had to play back at half speed but yeah, I think so too... kinda of weird that they prefer hinged rear doors over sliding... the Odyssey started as hinged 4 doors but the 2nd generation in USA swapped to sliding doors (and still are)... the sliding door model is marketed as the LaGreat.

Really enjoyed this video. All apart from the dangerous close pass at 2:40. 🤯 Here in the UK many commuter cyclists run cameras to catch drivers doing this. Police forces have web based upload areas for video and drivers end up with points on their licence and/or a fine. This makes them think twice next time. Anything like that in Japan or the USA?

Geez, I agree with the whole dangerous thing. Every morning during my commute, everyone drives normally. Even with my hand signals, people always see me and are extremely courteous on tight roads. But it's ALWAYS the high-end luxury cars that don't seem to care and do whatever they want. Ugh, which is why I've started riding with a chest-mounted gopro. Haha, for safety and evidence. :[

Japanese KFC is the best KFC I've had in the 5 countries I've tried it. Whereas in Canada, for example, I can polish off a 3 piece without any issue, in Japan, I...struggled.

Well if i am not totally wrong in UK they changed the law , so it says that a car that passes a cyclist , there must be at least 1,5 meter between car and cyclist. And if i am wrong then hopefully someone from UK can correct this. But i think it is great, if it is as i think.

how much are ramen places out there? They're usually $10USD in Los Angeles. I eat mostly instant... and add some stuff. Spinach and vienna sausage are my usual picks for add-ons. I do go out occasionally for ramen though.
