I had the pleasure of interviewing Dana Nesen, the premier trainer for Final Expense Telesales. We had a fantastic conversation about what it takes to be a successful telesales agent and how she wrote over $300,000 in final expense annual premium completely over the phone in her very first year. She knows what it takes to succeed in telesales, and she shared some invaluable tips and insights with us in this interview.
We talked about how to get better at selling over the phone, including the importance of building rapport with your clients, understanding their needs, and tailoring your approach to meet those needs. We also discussed the common mistakes that agents make when transitioning from field sales to telesales, and how to avoid them.
If you're a life insurance agent looking to improve your telesales skills, or if you're considering transitioning from field sales to telesales, then you don't want to miss this video.

I been in the life insurance industry for 12 years and I’ve learned a lot. I partnered with Dana on December 19, 2022 and I’ve gotten more value and strategic training in the last 3 months with Dana, than in the last 12 years. Powerful interview 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼 Thank you both for this gem 💎

Dana has the best FE sales training in the industry, and I'm not even with her agency. I wish though! Hope she never takes down her videos, they are more valuable than most of the top touted telesales shops training rolled up together!

This guest speaker, Dana is amazing! Everything she said is spot-on! She is keeping it real. Having someone who understands the sales process so intuitively is inspiring. Too many agents fail because they run out of money to invest in their business, and not necessary because they're bad at selling. They just haven't had the lead volume to rise to their potential. As they get better and hone their craft over time, with the proper sales training, they can convert more with less. But in the beginning it is rough financially. I'm glad someone is actually talking about lead volume and the cost of doing business as it is not discussed enough! She also brings up charge-backs, and the fact you need to produce more than you think as an offset. This is a stark reality that is rarely discussed. Being transparent with agents in the beginning is vital, and it's part of being responsible. I would work for Dana in a heart beat. I sold $360K in my first year in insurance.

I am in the process of getting my license, and I want to do telesales. I know that 100 leads isn’t enough just like she said, but how much should I get starting out? 200? 300? And what is the average cost of a Facebook lead?
@ViolentMLG
@ViolentMLG 10 ай бұрын
The general goal is to just have new leads and good flow. The follow-up is also important. Lets say you buy 100 leads, ideally, you should be able to hit all 100 leads within a day, but you can follow up with them for over a week+, it will just get less fruitful as time goes on, and rejection and/or lack of production can break down your confidence. In-general, a set of 100 leads should yield at-least 5-10 closes if you fully milk it for a week or so. In-general, you should be able to 2X to 5X your cost on leads depending on the cost per lead, and your skills. What allot of people do is run 50-100 leads a day, and hit them daily while they're fresh, and run old leads from the days prior as-well. Simply by doing this, they'll probably close 2-3 a day, which on average would be about $1500/day. Facebook leads are a bit complicated, there are allot of guides, but you can copy the leads word for word and still struggle to get leads, I felt like back in 2020/2021 before it blew up, it was easier. Today, everyone and their mom are running leads, and for FE specifically, it can be very scammy in lead generation. What allot of these people don't show you is dialing for hours, constant hang ups, the clients yelling at you for bothering them, or confusion, etc. Its a 'tough' job for many due to fear. Facebook also caps the amount of $ you can run in ads, a larger budget, the easier it is to obtain leads and get them at a lower cost. FB leads are typically $3-$8, FE leads bought are typically $10-$15. In-general, you have to be a little stacked financially and fearless, but if you got that, you should succeed. Side note: Also consider selling Term insurance, its not as mature of a field to research as FE, but I find it allot more lucrative than FE personally. Clients are also a bit more stomachable.
