Notice how so many people asked how to buy from these women directly and they were never given an answer. Also over the course of 3 days they were wearing the same spotless clothes. If this was a true source where we could support them while they worked like that..we would have had an answer in a half of a second if the person that created this video had a care in the world.
@GirlyEnglishGamer9 жыл бұрын
Kaylynn Rose well in Africa, we wear work clothes Those are her work clothes. Also we wash our clothes everynight before going to sleep and hang them up to dry until the morning. Hence why they are clean. The person who posted this video just wants to show people how its made. She's not a shea butter trader.
@whatthereview3699 жыл бұрын
***** Thank you. I don't know why people assume that if you don't have a big city lifestyle, or machines to do all your washing for you-- that you are DIRTY!.... These women live the way ALL our ancestors did in the past. They build a fire to cook. They take water from a well or a river to take a bath or clean their clothes. And they wash their clothes by hand, hanging them to dry EVERY day. And they are NOT lazy about it. In the past, a wife did not need a "money paying job" like a husband, because she worked her fingers to the bone just to keep her home and family clean and fed. That alone was a full time job. Some women did extra things like this, making butters or perfumes, or making rugs, pots and clothes to sell... But you were considered to have serious and valuable skills and talent if you could do something like that. Most of the women just cared for the family. They were plenty clean, because they did what they had to do in order to stay clean. It was harder than what we do now, but they still did it.

@CraftFamilyMO, Shea butter is called shea butter because it is made from shea nuts (the tree is called Butyrospermum parkii). See my accompanying video "Shea: From Tree to Nuts" that shows the first half of this process - how the nuts are gathered and dried. Shea trees grow in a band across West Africa, as well as in parts of East Africa. If you made butter from Macadamia nuts, you would have macadamia butter.

@Kemba Prince "5 months ago waw i loved this :-) wish you guys could take this to a higher level having machines do the work n stuff" You're joking, right? These women obviously take pride in their work and not everything needs to be machine made. What happens if you replace them with machines - what will they do for employment? You're going to have out-of work women with men running the machines and they'll be paid less than nothing. Instead, reward them for their hard work and pay them a premium

No, they were doing a video on how to make shea butter so they were pretending. Some people actually only have what they are wearing, so somewhere, this may be true. Sad but reality.

Thank you for posting this very informative video. Those strong women were working sooo hard and I didn't hear one complaint. I am humbled and enlightened at the same time. I wish I could buy all of my butter from these women and be used as a source of economic empowerment to improve their way of life. God Bless you and thank you. Peace & Abundant Blessings
