So do I. Being a senior an on the small size, I love leggings and sweat shirts. I can wear comfortable boots in the winter or tennis shoes. In summer it's shorts an a nice t shirt, sandals or cute flip flops. Dressy clothes are for important outings only. I buy most clothes on clearance right now winter clothes are on sale. Still enough cool weather left to start wearing them now. Designer purses are for the rich or those who aren't but will put a 500 dollar purse or more on a credit card with 28% interest. No thanks. I luck up at salvation army and found many in great condition. Usually older women volunteer, an have no idea of these styles. But are wising up,especially Goodwill, a place I never shop at anymore. All these KZbin videos of flipping has Goodwill taking a closer look at everything coming in,an are rising the prices to where if it's something you been looking for is a descent price, but not enough of a deal to flip. Yard sales are becoming the same. Seems people are checking to see the prices on these sites to see what it's selling for like on ebay etc. Prices will be lower a little. Still not worth it if you're trying to resell.

I’ve hated “bell bottoms” since I was a little kid in the 60-70s. I’ve bought one or two pairs of bootcut jeans over the years, but that’s it. I despise looking down my legs and seeing so much fabric at the bottom. I actually don’t mind the look on others, just not for me. As long the person and clothes are clean and not a distraction, no one should care what style anyone else is wearing. I also hate when articles and videos like this try and tell older women that they shouldn’t wear capris anymore. People would probably rather us wear capris in summer than shorts, lol.

Super cute but stupid unless you want half of your pants flopping around rolling up and getting floor dirty when you work out. I was actually sad getting rid of them because they look good on my body shape but I’m not repeating them. Or giving up skinny jeans, or tossing anything classically expensive and wearable for decades. Ignore trends. If you invest in actual design there isn’t an out, just different ways of styling them. It’s like buying a Hermes scarf just to replace the design and color for a trend. That scarf will be a passable to your grandkids keeper. Most of these make sense though.

Good thing I stocked up on a variety of flared pants so that I could wear them throughout that inexcusably long skinny-pants trend. Ever notice how flares influence your general gait versus skinnies? I glide or sometimes strut in my flares.....it's a different vibe.

Yesss! I was just talking about that! I am 5’1 and flares have always been more flattering on my body type, BUT it was tricky for me because everything was too long unless the designer made a special short or petite version of the pant. I was mentioning how scary it would be getting the pant hemmed because if it was off just half as inch too short, they looked like flood ankle pants. Pretty hard to find the short version of pants too. Also, hemming pants made the pant look different than what the designer intended because the opening winds up being smaller. That’s why the petite cut is so much better because you get to keep the full flare!

I think that leopard print is never completely out of style. A classic, understated leopard print piece can still have a place in the wardrobe, just not all of the leopard cardigans and styles that are outdated. I love a good leopard print belt or coat in a classic, high quality style.

Yupp It’s classic, but it’s also on trend this season, I promise lol. Her take in this video is dated. I just watched videos on how to style baggy leopard pants & trousers earlier today, after I was (sadly) influenced to desire a pair by multiple “on trend for spring 2024 articles”, and by this exceptionally stylish content creator who styled baggy leopard jeans so well. Back in December before realizing that it was an emerging trend, I encouraged my sister to thrift a leopard cardigan we found, reasoning that it is a timeless print 😅. Stays in the closet

Leopard/Cheetah print is a classic, like black and white. Unfortunately it gets overused, and cheapened with every computer generation of the pattern used for too many items, too many times, in too many weird colors. Each generation of fashionistas/influencers thinks they "invented'" it. I'm 65 (2024), and have a figure skating dress my mom made for me when I was five-years-old that's made of classic white wool with a totally natty pleated skirt, and a freaking adorable faux-leopard print collar (yes, they made that fabric way back then). It's accessorized with a string tie with leopard print balls finials. it was an immediate classic, and is today. However, I do not fit into anymore. Long live/love leopard print! Just go easy on it.

Love your videos I like to know what's trending - as you say, it doesn't mean you have to ditch your whole wardrobe, unless you have an unlimited budget. However, it does mean to avoid buying NEW items that are on their way out. And if a new trend totally suits me, such as boot-cut pants, I jump on it . Thanks so much for your kind and supportive approach.

Fully agree. Trends are shown on models. Buy the items yourself and often one is so disappointed because there is not the wow factor on yourself. Too many factors make clothes good on you... your body shape, if you are tall or short, hourglass or boy shape, your skin tone, hair colour and your personality.

No, you're the cool one because you've got your priorities set. You can be "cool" once you've met your goals. I usually buy one or two new pieces of the more obvious sort - flares or wides vs skinny - and rework other pieces I have to fit. Actually, I've bought pretty much straight leg pants exclusively for the past few years because they've got more staying power. AND they adapt to different styles of tops and shoes more easily.

I switch up skinny jeans with flared ones. The mom jeans and wide jeans look horrible on me. The skinny ones I still like when I really want to show off my boots. Puffer bag, tote with words, patchwork... I won't be buying any of those. Do like the belts and sandals. Hair I don't really care for, since i have my natural hair colour and I can't do curls in my hair anyway (won't ever stay, even the hairdressers can't get them to stay). So I just keep a style that works for my hair.

As someone who works for Golden Goose, I can most assuredly say, based on increased global business, the brand is not outdated & not out of trend - especially in the US. Each shoe is handmade by Italian cobblers. Italian brands are known for quality, comfort & timeless style. Each silhouette of shoe has a different footbed shape & insole. It takes trying on different silhouettes to find the best fit for your foot. The “dirty” look is hand distressing of the leather to mimic scuff marks of the skateboard & basketball shoes of the 70’s & 80’s of which the inspiration derived from. There are silhouettes such as the Stardan & Purestar which are white & non-distressed. Just a little education for those who aren’t in the know! 😊 The Dallas market knows trends & Golden Goose is here to stay!

So many peope look better in skinny jeans, including me. And they are ergonomic, lol. . For me, since my job requires me to move around a lot, and up and down stairs, I can not stand the extra fabric around my ankles that any kind of flare provides. It's the same reason i don't like maxi skirts or dresses. In or out, I''ll continue to wear. They look the sleekest and allow most freedom of movement. Totally agree with you about the Stanley cup and marked hair stripes.
