For some reason people forget golden state was top 2 in the league defensively for 4 years straight. 2. Detroit was not underrated offensively. Sheed forgets the reason why they never made another finals was because of their offense. The warriors went to three straight finals cuase they were elite in both. 3. The warriors played in the harder conference of their era. The pistons did not. 4. For as great as Larry brown was Kerr has more championship rings as a coach then he does playoff series losses. So no brown is not better than Kerr. 5. How are you going run a team into the ground that runs way more miles a game due to pace and sets? In this era Bigshot, RIP and SHEED are living at the line. So any advantage that GS would have from 3 is erased when they can't stay on the floor. Ben and Sheed dominate the paint both offensively and defensively in the series. Klay is just as likely to shoot GS out of games as he is to go off so 04 Pistons would use the exact same strategy they used against Kobe in the finals and get him to shoot his team out of the series. If T-Mac was locked down by Taysaun then KD is also locked down by Taysaun. Steph is super consistent so I think he wins his matchup but Chauncey would force the GS guards to guard him in the post and they would rack up fouls that way. Only chance I give GS to win a game is if Klay goes off for one of his 40 point quarters that he used to be famous for. 5 GAME SWEEP just like LA.

The only reason scoring is higher now than in the 2000's is because of rules...or UNCALLED RULES If Refs called the game HOW IT SUPPOSED TO BE CALLED (Carry, Travels, Offensive push offs) these modern teams would average 80-90 ppg. I have MAJOR love for the 2004 Pistons. But in the playoffs 87ppg 41% FG 30% from 3 4 made 3's Per game vs 2017 Warriors Playoffs 119ppg 49% FG 39% from 3 13 made 3's Per game unfortunately that data is all you need to know. Pistons were ELITE on defense and they matchup well because of their length and defensive versatility. But it simply becomes a numbers game. Even if Pistons keep Warriors 20 points below their average, Pistons still don't have the scoring power to keep up. But TBH, which team in history could keep up?

Rules are different from then. For example if you get a offensive rebound back in the day the shot clock would reset to 24 seconds while now it reset to 14 seconds. When that happen it forces you to shoot faster and over a game that will increase scoring. So you cant compare a team that score 87 points per game to a team that average over 110

Pistons in 7. I think the Warriors legs would struggle as the series went on with having to play legit D throughout the shot clock. Rip would run those dudes ragged. Tayshaun was long and physical, and would’ve kept KD’s scoring down a bit. Pistons front court all day, every day. Pistons bench was super underrated as well. Kerr is a great coach, but I have to go with Larry Brown. The Warriors had such great offense, and can light it up anywhere from inside half court, but as I mentioned earlier, I think they lose their legs at the end, those 3’s don’t drop as frequently, and the Pistons find a way. Would’ve loved to see those teams go at it.
