My point is even the way the game was called in 2004 they were breaking the rules. But no one likes how the game looks when they follow the rules. So where do you want to place the line for illegal dribbling? I agree today is out of control but I have been hearing this complaint since the 70's. Each decade they lossen up till here we are. Underrated x-factor for Pistons just like in 04: Lindsey Hunter. He and 6'9 Tayshaun Prince with the freakishly long suffocating wingspan are 2 of the greatest perimeter defenders in history who locked down Kobe in the 04 Finals, and Prince locked down Tracy Mcgrady in 03 after the Pistons got down 3-1 and is perfect for KD (Tracy 2,0). However, the 2 Pistons defenders couldn't be more different. Hunter is like a lightning quick, rugged, strong NFL RB who is the one guy who can get in Steph's grill 94 feet for 15-20 minutes a game like he's never experienced and physically wear him down. Whenever an opponent's offence got in a flow Larry Brown would throw Hunter in with fresh legs and it would throw a wrench into the machine. Hell, Matthew Dellavedova gave Curry problems with his Rugby athleticism and build before he was hospitalized with exhaustion because he wasn't used to playing half the minutes and expending energy guarding a generational player like Curry over multiple games. Pistons D Matches up perfectly: 1. Prince has Durant and will smother him like he did to Mcgrady in 03 and Kobe in 04. 2. Rip can chase down Klay better than anyone because he does the same thing on offence and never gets tired. 3. Chauncey, who also has the build of an NFL player, will be a much better (2nd Team All Defense multiple times) version of Dellavedova on Steph before Hunter checks in. Then Steph really has to work. 4. Sheed guards Draymond who will have no problem sticking with one of the least athletic players in the NBA. It's Draymond's Jokic like IQ that's the wild card. Yet if that's a problem the Pistons can switch one of the most athletic, strongest and possibly GOAT defender in Ben Wallace. 5. Ben Wallace can start on Iggy And Pistons shoot 3s too. Chauncey and Sheed can from very deep with Prince able to stroke it from the logo like it's a walk in the park, just watch his five threes in a row to start the game against North Carolina when playing for Kentucky. Future 7'0 All Star Mehmet Okur is a great 3-point shooter off the bench.

I’m glad sheed touched on how the refs no longer enforce carry/travel calls anymore. Nowadays players lift their pivot foot, take 3-4 steps doing layups… Steph/harden among other will literally pick up the ball, take 2 steps back then shoot 🤦🏾♂️ I’ve also noticed the score keeper manipulate games as well. As a true fan, it’s looking more and more like wwe every season.
@Dad_Son_twonovas6 ай бұрын
Y’all act like curry and KD can’t play regular. That whole carry thing started because warriors was killing the rockets and they needed a way to help harden vs warriors so they started letting it go and Curry decided to use it against them. But from 2012 to 2017 curry wasn’t doing that. & curry never got foul calls & still don’t. So you can’t use the refs to say they helped warriors. And if you say piston’s play hard defense you can’t bring up moving screens because if they not calling fouls on pistons why beg for moving screens? Just let it all go and see who wins. And I believe Warriors win in 5. And you said curry and harden pick up the ball and take 2 steps back. If you really look at it. Curry was one of the last ones to start doing that. @@Dad_Son_twonovas No matter the reasoning, the fact STILL remains… players nowadays carry/travel every single possession. Being able to move your pivot foot, take 2-4 additional steps to create space to shoot/drive the lane breaks every fundamental rule in the book. Shaq would have 4 players hacking him/riding his back literally pulling him to the ground and STILL only use 2 steps to slam it with authority… Vs these new guys taking 4 steps for a layup and still miss lol A lot of the players you named are good, but didn’t become great or become “stars”until they were allowed to cheat the rule book. How many players do we see cry/complain to the refs after every missed shot in today’s game? 2017 MVP was Russell Westbrook followed by James Harden in 2018. Definitely a weak era.

Why did Detroit win 1 title if they were this all time team people speak of? GS played just as well as a team but were so much more talented. GS in 5.

And they beat a Lakers team with prime Shaq and Kobe

@@akizzle76 You mean a dysfunctional Lakers team that had a Kobe Bryant willfully shooting the team out of a title?

Because Larry brown left after 2005 that’s the number 1 reason. They came damn close in 2005 n spurs beat them in 7 n he left.. then Ben Wallace n they lost their bench . Larry brown leaving ended it

As a 42 year old man whose watch the late 80's to the 90's and beyond. The one thing that's missing in this era is mystique!! Yall talk to much and now yall got older dudes talking too much. We don't really wanna hear from yall like that 🤦🏿

Steph would have to average 75pts in a seven game series to beat them Pistons. 😂😂😂

Why tho? The whole pistons team only score like 75

They cant even stop a young Wade averaged like 26 against them. You think you could Stop Prime KD and Curry?
@ronf.20296 ай бұрын
Prime Curry lost a Finals MVP against a bench warmer teammate Iguodala. KD never won anything outside the Warriors. Prince is an elite defender. Wade had Shaq and lost to Pistons in the playoffs. Wade prime is way better than a Curry or KD prime. His mindset is different.

Draymond and warriors fans act like shaq wouldn’t be able to play in today game. So if that’s the case argue with shaq. Also if the argument is who would replace shaq in the modern game the answer would be Rasheed Wallace go look him up a true big who was a lights out shooter and had a 3 ball with elite post moves and height. 😂
@21stcenturycynicalguyviews826 ай бұрын
Jokic has shown that all the bigs from the past could play in this current league. He has scorched Draymond a bunch of times. No reason to not believe Shaq wouldn't have the same success against Draymond.

Nobody says Shaq couldn’t play today 😂 he’d definitely need to work on his conditioning tho because he’d get gassed having to guard in space at 340+ pounds I could easily see him being picked on defensively on the perimeter but he’d be insanely dominant on the other end.
