This is what I've been doing lately. Love, love your videos! Winter is when I clean my whole house, closets, cabinet drawers, etc. Spring and summer are for outdoor activities like , cleaning the yard, gardening, and sitting on the porch listening to the birds.

The earth rests and winter, especially after a typical busy Christmas season, gives us the time to rest a bit as well. I love how you add scripture to your videos. The rugs are lovely.

I know I am one of the odd ones... but I just love the cozy winter season. Soups, hot biscuits right from the oven, fires and candles, pillows and throws and good books, with time to read them. Warm coats and gloves and scarves. Yes, please!!!! Its such a hibernating time, that , to me, nourishes my soul.

I agree with you, Sarah. Winter is a good time to slow down ….do journaling, get pictures together, clean closets, and drawers. Cook some recipes and freeze a lot more. Read books and magazines… spring, summer and fall you are outside more. Make a list of spring projects that you would like to do…. Get ideas and estimation costs. Send notes to family or friends that you need to catch up with. I’ve been basically stuck in for two weeks with really icy ,snowy bad weather here in West Virginia. I have enjoyed every day at home. And of course, watching your videos.. and a cup of hot tea makes my day ❤

Sarah, the last few weeks I have been relishing our cooler temperatures here in the Phoenix metro, working in my yard. Planting new succulents in the landscape has added a fresh appearance everywhere. Inside, I’ve been building jigsaw puzzles on the dining room table, and downsizing my wardrobe. I’ve now lost 85 pounds and have set a goal to lose the remaining 45 pounds. A new thrift store wardrobe is in my Spring outlook.

Wonderful reminders about the "quieter" season of winter. I have found myself "editing" in all areas of my life. When I edit, organize, and style (as we are learning in Behind the Scenes) it makes room for new possibilities and ideas. Thanks, Sarah. ~Helen VW

This season of waiting on the Lord is so hard for our family - I'm reminded of Isa. 40:31 “But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” Praying that we will wait with hope in the Lord, trusting that He will bring us through. Waiting for spring is challenging too for this gardener! Have you tried winter sowing - also known as the milk jug method? I've used it three years now and my goodness - the plants are so robust and hardy - it's a great way to economically add to your garden. Pretty hands off too - which is super helpful! I'm also giving the soil snail seed starting method a try this year ... I'm actually growing for an August wedding for a sweet young couple from church and so excited to add so any pretty flowers to my gardens for that occasion.

I have been reframing my thoughts about winter. I call it "cozy time" and, like you, I am working on indoor projects like painting a room and mending a tablecloth. Spring brings lovely weather, but it also is one of the busiest times of year for gardeners, so I will enjoy the rest.🦋🦋🦋

I love everything about this video. It feels good knowing I’m not the only one who struggles with dirty rugs, and “areas of tension” around my home. God created the seasons with purpose and I’ve been thinking a lot lately about winter’s purpose for us.

If you are going to start plants from seed in the house try setting up a small oscillating fan in the same room. Aimed at the plants on a low setting. It will get them used to wind and will make them stronger and more resilient when you actually do put them outside. Does not need to be on constantly. Maybe an hour a day? Keep in mind there may need water a little more frequently. Can't wait to see your beautiful garden in bloom. : )

The rug probably needs a thinner pad because of the rug already underneath it. I would absolutely love to have your coffee table. I have looked and looked and finally gave up. I assume it is thrifted or from a local antique store? What a brilliant idea using the liquid nails! Thank you for the doubling up idea. I appreciate more than you can know how much your sharing Biblical thought means to me. Today’s verse and how you explained it was exactly what I needed in my life right now. Praise God!

You may already know this, but Vita Sackville-West had a white flower garden and you may take some inspiration from images of that garden. A neighbor had grown a 'Vita" garden and it was lovely; sadly she moved away and the new neighbors let it go. Looking forward to seeing your garden bloom and grow!

Sarah, I think you are so clever. I enjoyed this video because I saw things that I could do myself. Putting two frames together is just the sort of thing I would do. Why not? I live on my own(with Frida, the most beautiful cat in the world) and there are plenty of things in my place that you shouldn't look too closely at. I call it decorating with smoke and mirrors! Several things would probably not survive in a family home though.

No, this pic isn't me....gotta get rid of hubby's... it can be a winter project to change pictures!!!! Sarah, thanks for mentioning our ancestors and what they did during the Winter season. My farm wife grandmothers made quilts and crocheted. I broke my ankle in Oct. followed by surgery and 6 weeks of not being able to put any weight on it, so we have had a different kind of Thanksgiving and Christmas. My winter project is to read and pass on to others about 40 books that need to come off my bookcases and find a new home. I may be walking normally with no aids by March; in the meantime, I clean out drawers and read in a wheelchair. My mind needs to feel that I'm accomplishing something!!!! Happy Winter!!!!

Hi Sarah, Had to laugh! I, too, have that picture and another- it’s by John Constable- that I thrifted last year. I have them both incorporated into my gallery wall. Love them! I also have three prints from The Pinetum Britannicum- all thrifted. Love the look from this time period. Did you say that you bought your jute rug from Ruggable too? I have a rug in my living room that I love, but it’s just a tad too small- wanted to add a jute underlay too. Anyhoo, I agree about times when you feel closer to God than others. I call it the ebb and flow…..Have a great weekend!

Beautiful thoughts about the people who came before us. They followed the seasons so much more than we do now. Modern conveniences gave us the option to get away from the realities of what's going on in nature, but if you grew your own food and didn't have central heating and air conditioning, you'd be forced to follow the rhythms of nature. God knew what He was doing when He designed a rest season.

Hello Sarah I heard you said at your house you prefer sugar free, gluten free and high protein. Is that how you keep your weight, that is something I admire in you, how fit and skinny you always look, it definitely makes you look younger. Would you be interested in doing a video on your healthy habits to stay in shape. I'm very curious ❤😂🙈 I'm mom of two, and the extra weight has linger for the past six years 😢 Thank you so much for the inspiration 🎉🎉
