Apparently, Prince was not happy Sheila wrote about their time together. I think its a shame that he didnt hang on to her as she is one fine lady and is still gorgeous. Being more mature than his other women I think she would have been able to sort him out with issues he had in later life. I guess, he had his pick of women throwing themselves at him and he was like a kid in a candy store but was he actually with anyone towards the end of his life, other than his very young dolly birds. Its all good to have a pretty girl on the arm I guess but they dont necessarily make you happy in the long term. Just my opinion!

I think maby they had a moment on stage. And Shield makes it out like more than it was. In a different interview she was asked what she did with the engagement ring. I could she was not expecting that question. It threw her off-guard. She said, she gave it up a long time ago. I don't believe she ever had a ring. If she had a ring the paparazzi would have went nuts with their cameras . They look for stuff like that.

I love Sheila ,but I don't take that as a real proposal. A man looks back at you in the middle of a song and mouths the words, "Marry me." A midst singing? At the spare of a moment? No ring? No date set? …Don't buy it. I don't think Prince ever truly intended to walk down the aisle. Plus, it's a known fact that he was an obsessive ladies man in the 80’s during "their time" and was said to have been linked to every woman he's worked with: Vanity, Susan Moonsie, Sheena Easton, Cat, Susannah Melvoin, Nona Gaye, Apollonia, Carmen Electra, Kim Basinger, etc…the list goes on and on. Sheila's making herself sound...well...you know. I don't think Prince ever intended to marry anyone but the ladies he actually did.

I think Prince and Sheila E. were very fascinated with each other. They were friends for a long time, and they struck me as being a lot alike, except that Sheila E. seemed more comfortable with the social aspect of fame and notoriety than Prince was. They were compatible but they were also good for each other. It may have been they were TOO comfortable in the friends-kinda-sorta-lovers role to consider what they offered each other as mates.
