This is an interesting scene because Sheldon was telling her things that he believed made Howard unfit for the job as if he was trying to derail his success- par for the course for him- but then he instantly regretted it when he let it slip about the Mars Rover, something that could not only derail his success but destroy his career. So he was fine with sandbagging his promotion but draws the line and his whole career?

Sheldon dumps on Howard for not having a PhD, he still respect him as an engineer (though likely not respecting the profession itself), so it makes sense he doesn't want Howard to lose his career, but isn't interested in him being promoted to something Sheldon isn't. Though a more likely explanation is that Sheldon is uncomfortable lying.

I do believe he and howard were having an argument during this time, something like messing up a small fast track like this seems like something he'd be deserving of, but when Sheldon realized what he said could have literally gotten Howard taken off the face of the earth (hyperbole, hopefully) he knew he messed up

​@@P8H5 IF I can be honest.... She is pretty smart.. She clearly is not as intelligent as Sheldon is, but to be fair, Sheldon is a total no-brainer, when it comes to people related stuff. Like Penny is usually making fun of him and about him, and he is clearly more intelligent than she is, but when it does come to those things she is outsmarting him easily. I guess that woman is really also smart on those kinds of things. You could see that when Leonard was trying to hit on her, and she played along but instantly also was posing for mocking him, holding her ring up.... Also, her reaction and mimic when Sheldon wants to "visualize" it. Her face instantly went like "as expected.... why always me..."

Well, you are forgetting who he really is and are judging him based on actions rather than on intentions like you do with yourself. what you are doing is Albeism/ Disablism sheldon is a tv character but people like that really exist. they cant help it.

I thought about that. But was Jeffrey Dahmer less of a terrible person because he was a clinical psychopath, which he "couldn't help"? It may be more difficult for someone like Sheldon to put others first, and not to be petty and vindictive and self-centered, but that does not negate his moral responsibility to do so, like we all have. Obviously it's this is overly dramatic to say about a fictional character written for comedy. But if he were a real person, he'd be awful.

I have had to go through many of these interviews, and this actress does a poor job portraying how these government security people really are. What else can I say...she's not convincing.
