Custom board game inserts! Building your own table! Print and play! The Do-It-Yourself guy has a solution for any tabletop related needs! Who needs deluxe components and limited edition kickstarter board games when you can just 3D print the pieces yourself! Or what about when the rulebook sucks, so you go to boardgamegeek to find files for custom player aids! That, or print and play files, and even then, if all else fails, just use any old deck of cards as a replacement. Besides, you own so much cardboard and packing foam from this hobby, why not repurpose it into anything you need, whether it's dice cups, dice towers, dice trays, card holders, you name it!

In my defense, the table cover I made for gaming on did work pretty well. I just uhh... Didn't make it fold in half for storage because I didn't consider that my wife has cats.

As someone that just recently started doing DIY for my board games, I can say that it does represent what does happen inside my head; I just did location connectors for Arkham Horror and I want to make dividers for the cards in a box. There is a certain feeling of pride after finishing something that, while the quality isn't as good as something you could get in Etsy, you still feel happy that you made it.

@@Shelfside yeah. That chair is tricked-out. Stores drinks, and it randomly becomes a recliner! But you need to wear a helmet to sit in it. What stung most on your video was I literally just made a player aid last night. I won’t mention all the time I spent making spirit island inserts with foam core and old boxes. It’s a problem. -Luke

@@lp9092 ahaha 'randomly' for sure on the recliner part. If you properly use the clamps, it actually doesn't break consistently! storing cool drinks is mandatory during the hot game nights, no questions asked. I used to make player aids all the time, its actually very satisfying and I'm sure you didn't use the size 6 font that was in the vid bahaha. Foamcore... oh gosh that is a hobby in of itself, did it for BSG and Chaos in the old world... and is like at least half a day for each -Ashton

I made my own secret h*tl*r, cosmic encounter and chinatown because they were unavailable everywhere i checked in spanish in my not capital city with 100 dollar shipping and more than 30 days wait to southamerica. I would buy them were I to find reasonably priced ones. I translate my own player aid cards and cosmic itself was a lot of work to translate but i did.

Where’s the laminator and corner cutter?! Ugh. I am so disappointed. I totally DIYed Draftosaurus last week using Dinosaur World and 10 hours of my life drawing the game board on an iPad. No regrets.
