The entire game sounds like someone wanted to make a Kojima style convoluted plot but didn't have the talent to make the gameplay between the plot good so people would tolerate it.

Also, fun fact about Shellshock 1, it was developed by Guerrilla, the same developer who brought us Killzone and the Horizon games! And hopefully, Minority Report should be your next review. I'm sorry I keep bringing that game up, but I really want to see your perspective on the game!

You may go into this later (shameless leaving comments early) but if I recall hearing somewhere, the particular branch of Rebellion who worked on this were actually Ex-Core Design developers after Tomb Raider AOD bombed. The zombies were allegedly forced in mid-development and the entire development team was allegedly heavily demoralized from a mix of AOD bombing and having to go to a new studio and being fully aware there was no way they were going to make this game be anything but terrible. That said I can't recall exactly where I heard this so take this with a grain of salt. I do find it funny somewhat, the Vietnam war was such a mess of a Conflict you could probably make a horror FPS by just having a relatively realistic FPS with quick deaths and having to constantly be paranoid about booby traps without having to add Zombies. Another terrible obscure FPS (Same devs as Velvet Assassin) Tunnel Rats (yes, based on the Uwe Boll movie) also weirdly half-forced in Zombies, almost every enemy in the game is Vietcong Soldiers...except there's one machete wielding mute US dude who shows up like twice trying to stab you with the character freaking out when he shows up the second time, so we actually have two terrible Vietnam war FPS games with shoe-horned in Zombies (or ambiguous zombie in this case) despite how small the pool of Vietnam War games is.

Still trying to find the zombies being higher-ups mandated since I'm certain I saw that mentioned somewhere but I imagine spending a ton of time on AOD only for it to bomb wasn't good for morale at least.

I'm not sure if you said this in an edit on screen, but that's NOT a Minigun... Minigun is a spinning barrel weapon... That there sir is The Pig... or more accurately an M60... Very different gun... The M60 Light Machine Gun was a staple of many War Movies and Games and did have a relative presence in Nam from all accounts, it was called The Pig coz it was Ammo Hungry and would run through supplies like, well a pig.

"pump action rifle"... The sad reality is that those exist. However the weapon you were forced to use was a "bolt action" rifle. I believe it's supposed to be some old Mosin Nagant. The "popularity" of actual pump action rifles rose during the 1990s weapons ban. They are generally cursed. Though some people made them just because they could. 🤷🏻

Yeah. I mainly know of Pump action rifles from Borderlands 1 that has some garbage grade sniper rifles use that in conjunction with a cylinder reload. In short, they SUCKED!!! With how fast the combat is, you need guns with high fire rate to deal good damage. Once you get a magazine using sniper then you should be ok.

The M60 does use 7.62 bullets that the AK uses, but I pretty sure that the M60 used a different kind of 7.62mm round since it’s a heavy machine gun.

My lord, the inaccuracies in this so-called "World War II" game is so massive (like how Japanese forces in the Pacific levels using German-built weapons like MG42s and Becker shotguns, the North Africa levels having no presence of Italian forces despite the Kingdom of Italy playing a major part in the IRL North African campaign, weapons that wouldn't be in service for another few years or never entered full production like MP44s and Panzerfausts appearing in levels set in 1941-42 and the infamous "Do YoU SpeAk JaPaNesE!" line), i think you wouldn't survive it, and that's just the campaign, multiplayer on the other hand... 💀

This game was refused classification in Australia... One of the few times those old BS restrictions helped us dodge a bullet... BTW Fun Fact: Most games that were R17-18 WERE released, in Australia, this whole "Australia missed out on tons of games" is BS and if you want a REAL country that bans a ton of games... Look at friggin Germany. The ISSUE was not just games being refused classification for stupid reasons, it was ALSO that many games that were R18 for good reason, were MA15+ in Australia which was NOT GOOD. Since MA15+ was the highest rating available. It's all been fixed now, though there are still asshats on the committee that fugg around. Ultimately it was BS pollies making BS decisions and we shut their shit down. It wasn't helped that international peeps COMPLETELY misunderstood the issue, again most games WERE released, without edits, they were just released under a LOWER classification, meaning if anything we were "more lenient" then other countries as while they had games at R, we had those same games at MA... Which was messed up. Again it's been fixed for the most part... And yeah go look at the games on the banned list for Germany... Whoo Wheeeee that's a long list... It also has the amount of edited games and it gets pretty insane...
