this is what all of those "slowed and reverbed to perfection" videos are trying to do

as much as i think digital is the way, there is just something about disks and physical vinyls that sounds different.
@lucasdimond59686 ай бұрын
@@Dachi40 you get an analog sound, purely electrical signal, no ADC or DAC used in the process if i'm not mistaken, it's the closest you can get to the studio sound, it's much warmer and sounds really nice
@kapser22106 ай бұрын
The sampling frequency and replay bitrate has become so high that there is no longer any audible difference between analog and digital. But there is something neat about knowing something is analog. It's not any warmer though.@@lucasdimond5968
@YOLOnline6 ай бұрын
@@lucasdimond5968 especially in the case of modern music it all started as digital in the first place so its not really any closer to the way it sounded in the studio. Tho while digital is technically superior in any way in terms of bit / sample rates and minimum / maximum frequencies and all that, vinyls can come pretty close and in some case sound better due to the vinyl master being way less overcompressed and squished. (dang you stupid loudness wars) Nothing beats the whole experience of it tho and having it physically in your hand having the actual music etched in and being there is just magical and thats not even mentioning all the crazy artwork and coloring options

Pretty sure the lead vocals are all Madeon, although I suspect Porter may have done some backing in the chorus. This would actually be even further from Madeon's natural chest voice than the original though, as I'm pretty sure he tends to adjust the formant down, not up

Wow I want to collect vinyl now... I didn't realize that analog music could do something like this. It's different than if you slowed it down digitally, since no data is expunged or stretched. Its just the song but slower. Never noticed that until now. And what a beautiful song to try it on.
@Bakashi7 ай бұрын
That only happens on low quality MP3 files. FLAC or other loseless music formats can be slowed down perfectly.
@common_json7 ай бұрын
@@Bakashi I didn't know that, but makes sense. I'll try it out some time!
@TacoDelivery7 ай бұрын
In addition to the previous reply, vinyl can lose quality over time as you play it due to normal wear and tear, while a lossless format like FLAC or WAV will never lose quality and will remain in perfect quality. This loss of quality is sometimes what people like in the sound though, like with analog synths. It just depends on personal preference.
@Deardareco7 ай бұрын
@@Bakashi more importantly the higher quality audio formats would also usually have higher sample rates, which is what you need to slow it down well (same way a video shot at 200fps can be slowed down nicely to like 60fps)
