Animation studios can rejoice because now they have proof they only need six minutes to convey a beautiful story.

This whole project just proves how powerful 6 minutes can become when people of different backgrounds work together. Robinson from America, Madeon from France and A-1 Pictures from Japan. I tear up every time I watch the video because it does stand for so much hope. I think it has a great message and I'm so happy that it's gotten spread around so much.

I don't want to be "that" guy who self-promos, but I made a more optimistic re-imaging of the music video on my channel for the people who really enjoyed the original. Not saying you'll love it but it's worth a try if you cried after watching the original like I did.

Just so you know, the message at the end that Rin received said, "To Rin From : Dad There was just so little time left after you were born. I don't know how much love I managed to pour into raising you after your mother died... But your smile kept me going. (^_^) I would like to have come with you, but I couldn't. I wanted you to forget everything and move on... I knew you'd be alright. But you'll get lonely, and remember. I know you'll grow strong, and read this letter some day. I really wish we could have spent more time together. I'm sorry. You were so young back then, too young to understand what they meant. So let me repeat... My final words to you."

This was a really touching video. The thing that hit me the most is the fact that Rin has to live with the fact that her father is dead, and that he did all he could to ensure she lived the best life possible after the apocalypse.And I love Porter Robinson's music! I especially recommend the song 'Sad Machine'.
@lynn48408 жыл бұрын
Sad Machine reminds me too much of Nuts and Dolts (Ruby/Penny), so that makes the song even sadder. Still love it though. ;u;
@raeh1238 жыл бұрын
Oh my gosh I never thought of it that way! Now I'm sad :c. I like to think of Sad Machine as the sequel to Shelter (even though I know it isn't) I always associate Begin Again by Purity Ring with Ruby/Penny (probably because it's the only Penny/Ruby amv I've seen)

if you guys wandering what was the letter said at the end... here's the translation from reddit To Rin From: Dad There was far too little time left after you were born. I wonder how much love I was able to show after your mother passed... Seeing you cheerful and well gave your old man courage. It really would have been better if we could have gone together, but I couldn't make it work. I thought I wanted you to forget everything and go forward...knowing you, you'll be okay. You'll realize your loneliness, and surely remember me. I believe that you'll grow strong and read this letter. I wish we could have made more memories. I'm sorry. When you were little you probably didn't understand well, but now you should. I'll say the words from that day once more.

What touched me the most about this video was actually - and that is for some in-explainable reason something that got me on a very personal level - the amount of lengths her father went through to give her a chance to live on. I mean he build a ship and a whole virtual reality interface for her where she could live in. It kind of made me feel very emotional. If I was in that situation, and I had the means, I would want to be that father, meaning I would do anything in my power to make sure my child has a future. And I guess that is what got me the most here, although there is obviously so much more to it beyond that.

For what it's worth, I did some deep diving on the story presented in the anime and found that Shigeru (The Father) fully intended to Send Rin to another star system. There are a few scenes which more or less give it away, but it's not immediately apparent until you look for it.
